Glad you resolved it. You're not the first person to mess things up by formatting those sfos partitions. So let me ask you a question.... I've always updated with zypper refresh and zypper update. What does version --dup do?
-
Thought this was worth reminding people of this while we wait for internal solution, as I've seen it referenced in a few other threads lately. Plus even if they fix the keyboard stuff, there's still plenty of use for this app.
-
Really? https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2557-key-mapper-foss-app-to-bind-keys-buttons-to-other-keys-or-actions I starting using it to make SYM into slash while waiting for better solution couple months ago...
-
I believe there's some persist file you have to delete to fix that... it's posted somewhere...

Yeah I don't care about the colors, I expect shift to be level 2 like every other keyboard in the world, until now I hadn't even made the connection that the slant arrow and 2nd level characters were both yellow, I just assumed that's an fxtec color they chose to use for looks. But yes, the lack of slash and question mark should be handled in the kcm, not kernel. And if fxtec doesn't provide layouts that can get slash and question mark, then finqwerty is our solution. I personally plan to map the right slant arrow to slash key once the two oem keys have separate key codes in kernel.
-
On the third hand, not only yellow arrow, and not both shift and yelow arrow. only shift, not sure why you would want yellow arrow to act like shift when we already have shift on both sides. But I dunno qwertz. Thats an afterthought, fix qwerty first.
-
I dunno who they is, but the only key I expect for symbols on the digits is shift. Dont need that functionality doubled unless you mean the other shift key, which I guess is a dupe since both are left shift, so cant avoid it even if desired.
-
I re-read this now, in OP he asked from "fastboot mode" so my contribution was superfluous.
-
It would still be sticky on the Fx-tec key - and note the sticky part doesn't work for the built-in Android keyboard shortcuts, those only work in combination. For that reason alone, I see the advantage, cuz keys you have to hold together it's nice to have on both sides. But I have other plans in mind for those yellow arrow keys, and it is confirmed that unlike shift/control, the left and right are separate in hardware. Once they're separate in kernel, I plan to make the right one my slash/questionmark key. The left one can be 3rd level modifier for us-intl, but we don't have any mod
-
I've been spamming this all over the forum cuz I want everyone to want it too since I first learned about it. If they reassign a key as meta (ideally the Fx-tec key), then we get global android app shortcuts (meta+letter, unrelated to the longpress letter in the stock launcher). Then, you could use any launcher you want and still have shortcuts - and start them without having to go back to the launcher home screen. Other than that, the other thing Chen shared at one point they were considering making their own symbol picker for the Sym key, but dunno if that was part of the launcher or

I think you mean Google Play Store. -
Discussion and testing on features and known&potential issues
Craig replied to rejujacob's topic in Bug Reports
I think/hope anyone is welcome to edit the sheet. I think we want a proper fix for everything listed. Just cuz there's workarounds or partial workarounds for some issues, doesn't mean we don't want it fixed in stock, for best out of the box experience for new users and reviewers and stuff, to help it keep selling, to help the company succeed, etc.... -
You can boot to bootloader (fastboot mode) by holding volume down and power key. For tutorial, follow steps 1-3 here: https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2537-magisk-install-step-by-step-root/?do=findComment&comment=41280

Probably best to have phone turned off while opening front cover anyway. sorry, sarcastic comment cuz I can't imagine what front cover you're opening -
Dumb question: how to type special characters?
Craig replied to henk.setten's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I don't know what "we" want. I was just referring to what happens the way it is now. Right now on qwerty with no layout selected, shift only works for capitol letters, it does not work for the rest of the second level keys, only those weird slanted arrow keys, sometimes referred to oem keys or Fn keys, do that. If I don't like any of the available layouts, I'd bug the finqwerty guy, he's fast to make changes if there's good reason, etc. Until OTA includes some useful layouts, anyway. But as to how I'd like it to work? Of course I'd like shift to work normally for 2nd level. -

Not weird, that's the case for all qwerty devices with no layout selected on all the versions they've released (thru 2020-01-06). -

Shift will only work for capital letters in that case. Not for anything on the number row for example. -
Someone somewhere reported their cable just died. No noticable damage, just stopped working. So worth trying another cable before sending it back.

He's mistaken. If you have finqwerty layouts installed, you can use them. The layouts included with stock (besides german for qwertz) don't use the fn-key at all, so the only way to get slash and question mark on qwerty is to not select any layout at all - but then shift won't work right, so finqwerty is a better solution anyway. -

Thats also a setting they missed, but hopely comes with OTA. For Android global shortcuts we need "meta" key. -

Alt by itself should bring up emoji already. (Right-Alt should bring up symbols, but Fxtec hasn't mapped any key to that; hopefully next OTA they fix that for the symbol key). There are lots of symbols available in various finqwerty layouts tho. I'd suggest US international (with 3rd level dead keys) for English.. (Also, maybe next ota will bring us 'alpha' setting, then we may get some accented letter choices on longpress of some letters, along with sticky modifiers). -
If assumptions are right, then its in outskirts of Shenzhen, about an hour from Hong Kong border; closest landmark on google maps is Yingzhan Garden.

The main part of this is you have to boot to bootloader before executing this command. From android, you can execute adb reboot bootloader; I think you're sfos, so you're stuck using the voldown+power method to get there which always works.
