Some of you (like me) might be used to the external SD card appearing as separate drive on their laptop when connecting the phone. There is also the option to use it as adoptable internal memory. Please find some information on how to select the right option for you when you are asked the question by your phone: https://www.androidcentral.com/adoptable-storage I copy this in this thread as I wish I had known this from the beginning. Been looking desperately for my external SD card although I had probably selected it as internal drive... Then removed it and lost some of t

There are two apps for system update, The following worked for me. settings > apps & notifications right hand corner three dots > show system scroll to wireless update (there are two) Storage clear cache, clear sorage (you might want to go progressively: just clear the cache only first. In my case it was not enough) Repeat for the other one It solves the settings option not appearing. I do not have the long press issue (under stock).

Good tip, thanks. I used the small part that you have to cut (Note 10 too wide) to stick on the sides of the keyboard. Reduces the likelihood of letting the unit fall when clacking open.

Thanks. I have been adding my points in the file.

Thanks. The whole thing is a bit confusing. 200 GB Sandisk ultra SD Card: I did reformat the external SD card on my computer as exFAT (the option proposed by windows, hopping that then I can do the required formatting on the phone). The phone did not react at all when I reinserted the external SD (probably did not even detect it). The card is still considered as not inserted by SD card manager app. I do not see it in other file managers app such as FX or files. Maybe something is wrong with the card. It works on my computer as exfat. I did not manage to convert it to

If I understand correctly under stock android, we need to format large SD cards (e.g. larger than 32GB) in fat32 not exFAT? which method do you recommend for this? Using PowerShell? Ease US? I cannot do formatting with the app SD manager. It mentions the SD card is not inserted. However under settings > Storage > SD card, I can see the general info about the SD card. When I connect the phone to a laptop, only the internal memory is displayed. Edit (now that I understand a bit better about the whole thing): I had probably selected the option to treat the card as adaptive i

Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes
OKSun replied to VaZso's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
It would be good to have a tutorial on how to capture the logs. I do not know how to dig them after a reboot. -
It would be interesting to understand if this is a software issue or hardware issue. Is it any better under lineage?

Not sure I understood exactly the question: I use the app flashlight from zeroneapps.com

I would like to hear your experience. I have not yet activated the finger print reader under stock android, as I remembered it lead to some issues (too many read attempts). If I activate it (to use my banking app), I understand from the post above that it is possible to deactivate it on the lock screen using the app mentioned. I just wanted to ask about your experience / whether it solves the issues. For example, normally I press the power button to switch off the screen before putting the phone in my pocket, will I experience unintended read (power and reader are next to each others

Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes
OKSun replied to VaZso's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
In my case the spontaneous reboot were due to the poor WiFi connection in one room of my flat. I do not experience spontaneous reboot since I installed an additional WiFi acces point in the flat. -
I apologize for this additional question. I need to go to the bottom of this. I am still confused, and I see you are specialists : In this article, they mention "The charging current should also apply approximately 0.6 to 1 times the battery capacity in mAh. Higher currents can reduce the lifespan of the battery, lower strengths can overheat the charger." https://newsabc.net/how-to-extend-the-battery-performance-of-smartphones-and-notebooks/ If I understand this correctly: Fx tec battery capacity is 3000 mAh, so the phone should charge with at least 1'800mA? if not the char

Thanks. This discussion about battery is interesting and a bit complex for non technician like me. The usual chargers are 5V. I have various ones 0.85A, 1A, 1.2A, 1.5A, 2A. Which one shoud we use for the pro1? How many A should we achieve when charging with screen off?

The fitBAG does not have a strip and is very soft (not sure how much protection it provides). I like the mediaDevil one. For the pro2, Fx tec should give the option to purchase a pouch (and then a good quality one); many prefer a case or a flip case. The fxc pouch received with the phone is a bit of waste unless you have good handycraft skills like Swond.

This might be the same problem as below (with solution):

I asked the developer this question as well: He suggested to go in "total launcher" options: then "Launcher options" > "Key & gestures". Reset the key with the order "Open menu". In my case this was the key "menu". I set it to no action. It seems it solved the bug. (you probably also need to install edge null; without it it is difficult to open the keyboard without touching any part of the screen and launching actions!)

Thanks. There are some interesting android shortcuts using the search (magnifier) key. It is not printed on the hardware keyboard. I have seen this has been discussed in other threads but I could not understand the conclusion. Is there now a search key in stock ? which one is it? I am using qwertz What is the situation if I use finqwerty? finqwerty has also some shortcuts using the search key.

Time to set up: Yes it takes a bit of time to set up total launcher, but there is a back up function, so you build it only once (hopefully, I have not tested it yet!). On any new phone, the set up of the home screens is what take most time, and I never found good solutions to back it up (e.g. for saving some time after factory reset, or even when changing phone). Setting up landscape - portrait I contacted the developer of total launcher. It is possible to copy and paste grids (incl apps) from portrait mode into landscape mode. 1. select the objects. 2. press the copy

Well. Congratulations. It worked. When I pressed, there was a snap noise. Now call volume is working again. This forum and its members are brillant.

I did run a test with the app TestM Hardware. The earpiece did not work. Not sure whether it confirms this is a hardware problem.

Thanks. I tried with full max volume for calls but it did not solve it. The last update of the phone app was in July according to play store.

Oops. Today I do not hear the other persons when I receive a call. I hear my phone ring, answer it and it connects. The other person hears me fine. However I do not hear the other person. My current fix is to activate the "loud" speaker during the call by pressing the button. Then I can hear what the other person is saying. I am wondering whether this is a hardware or software issue. Can I run a test to determine this? I am ready to try different things before I contact support. Is there two different types of loudspeakers on the phone? Can I conclude something from the fact that whe

Yes. I also end up in "network settings" of my carrier after selecting "wifi calling" in the results of the search. In this page network settings, I also do not have a menu "wi-fi calling" .
