Thanks everyone for some badly needed diversion during my lunch break! I would go for the GPS version, but as a paraglider I'd prefer a variometer edition, of course with built-in thermal detection and guidance system. Of, for use in winter, with avalanche beacon and built-in avalanche hotspot scanner (take a photo of the mountainside, and it'l tell you precisely which points to avoid in order not to trigger the avalanche for -finally!- safe skiing in risk level 5). Sorry, not enough time and skill to graphically elaborate these..

In other threads, there are photos of our shipments boxed up and ready to go which is awesome and very exciting stuff. However, nobody has the time to take a pic of the final version of the phone case presumably shipping with our phones?

To be clear: I do not feel betrayed or something by FxTec. I am not angry at them. I just wish the phone becomes a smashing success. In my eyes it is important to not send potential customers away angry. Because every customer you get at the beginning results in a lot of potential customers. It would be a pity to do genius hardware and then loose the customer with unnecessary stuff like that. This conversation drifted completely in the wrong direction (mainly because of me, sorry). So please focus on my feedback not on the legal stuff. Please write an email to the time if you are one

I agree on that, would be such a waste of money if they should send them in a separate parcel, to those of us that don't really need it anyway. The case could be nice to have though.

I had so much fun making game grippers ~10years ago. I'd be open to making some for the pro1. One problem is I live in the USA and this seems to be primarily an EU phone. I'd probably need to track down my old EU partner or even better if fxtec would distribute them. I tried connecting with those guys on LinkedIn about the pro1 but no reply. For a little history, the game gripper came before we had decent Bluetooth game pads. Once they stopped making high end phones with slide out keyboards the game gripper stopped selling and I went back to work. -Hyrum

Oh, sheesh, never mind. I hadn't noticed that the top threads were pinned. The forum does sort by latest response time. 🙄 However, this does raise another issue. Apparently the edit button is a limited time deal. I guess, again, to prevent deletion, I personally prefer forums where I can edit any time. I only use it to fix bonehead mistakes. However,I understand if you time it out to prevent deletions.

Here we get the price with tax, logged out or not. I think it is a US specific thing to show it without tax, as the tax is state-dependant.

It's not even that expensive! The cheapest new iPhone you can get is $999 while the Pro1 is only $729 right now.

it is up to us to make it as popular as we can (considering the limitations) to let the guys at fxtec make this one cheaper and also make a new one for us in a year or two, fingers crossed.

A way to not use the WYSIWYG editor when posting would be nice. It's actually the first time I've ever seen it not have an "edit source" or equivalent button that would let you write your message as either BBCode or restricted HTML.

It has been known for a while that the pre-order price was discounted. It's extremely common for a product to increase in price once it is available.

Is this really a surprise? Some people complain pre-orders don't get enough bonuses, others that pre-orders are cheaper than devices for everyone else, can't please everyone at once. Having said that, device might get cheaper later, or disappear from the market completely, considering the very narrow niche, your call whether to risk waiting another ten years for a nice qwerty device 🙂

How appropriate 🙂 - my current phone is Windows 10 & the only reason I went looking for a new handset is coz MS are dumping support from 2020!! All the more disappointing to me coz MS cashed-in on Nokia, which was the final nail in the coffin for the Symbian OS 😞

If we follow your statement that would be okay because there is no contract because the item didn't got shipped? BS. You are even entitled to get your damage paid because something you ordered did not get delivered or not in time. For example: If you order 200 Sausages because you want to sell them over the lunch, and the butcher is to late (lets say 2:00 pm). The cut-out corners of the keyboard deck do seem like a poorly executed afterthought. Quite sad, if anything they should've just left the screws visible but not protruding in any way - the look of steel torx screws would be a lot more premium than some cheap-looking stickers. Good thing it's not ducktape. That's something I can live with though, unless under those stickers there's nothing to stop dust and other life's tiny debris from coming inside the phone. I do not know the specifics in the UK but I would be astonished if this would not be a contract there. That would mean that the contract law works completely different there than in the rest of Europe. You agreed to pay a certain amount of money and FxTec agreed to deliver you a device => contract. Legally 'pre-orders' do not exists, these are just contracts of sales with a certain condition (later delivery date, maybe uncertain delivery date). Well since FxTec gave us the possibility to move back from the contract without any damage this may allow them to do the same. But I doubt

I have reported a lot of them going trough what was marked unread. Do they arrive? Important thing to note is that where you should look is the top right of a post when you have the mouse hovering over it, only then the "report post" link appears, it's not immediately obvious.

Less of a bug and more of a suggestion, but when an email is entered into the password reset field, the same page should be shown whether that email is found or not. Helps prevent against email aggregation using the reset password field. Once again, nothing major, and probably not worth fixing if it'll take too much time.

Please change it from https://community.fxtec.com/settings/. This seems to have been an issue with the previous forum as well - revealing usernames. This one gives you an option to change the revealed name. The previous forum was just hiding the old spammy posts, this one doesn't allow them in the first place. We'll clear them all shortly 🙂

I have GG5 on my current phone and it still shatters when dropped. not to pieces, but noticeable. I know it's counter-productive to say this, but just don't drop your phone (advice for myself as well) Unfortunately for me pro1 has curved edges, which makes things worse from this point of view, guess I'll use a case for the first time
