Sorry for bad picture quality, but I am sure it is enough for illustration. I made the pouch my way as I am used to use it for ages. It is a simple improvement of the original pouch. Added strip helps pulling of the phone out and also secures it when it is inside ;-) Easy, comfy, cheap.. PERFECT. Can sell you my know how for 3โฌ :-D :-D :-D :-D4 points

I am glad to say that the day has finally come. When my Fxtec Proยน has arrived. Even though I followed the forum for a long time now, I am still surprised by the quality designed/engineered into this phone. Maybe I should be less surprised but the thing is cooler in the flesh. I am positively surprised. Here's hoping I won't face any of the hiccups and difficulties other people have! For now... Let me get to know this little beast better. And Fxtec - this phone's a job well done and I can see it's a dream come true for those who dared believe they could achieve making somet4 points

A mere year after purchase, I finally got the phone this Tuesday. Here are some initial impressions of my QWERTZ model. So far, this is a keeper. The packaging is great which is always a good start. Build quality of the phone is very nice safe for the rattle which I will fix with tape once I am 100% certain Iโll keep the phone. As was said before, the Pro1 is one thicc boi but the heft is reassuring and the phone does not feel slippery. The hardware exudes quality. I like it. Some issues and ideas: Somehow my SD card got busted, still not sure whether this is a card or phone3 points

First time on the road with my Pro1. Woke up at five this morning. Spent more than 6 hours on trains going to Paris from Germany. At 10 in the evening battery was still at 60%. Tips: Keep battery saving mode on at all times. Turn off auto-sync.3 points

Hello, yesterday I received the fx, even though I had requested the cancellation of the order months ago, because I didn't want to wait any longer to change my smartphone and I bought another smartphone, obviously, when I needed it. Now 1 year later, I get the FXtec Pro 1 128GB QWERTY, but I don't need it anymore. I've opened it and turned it on, just out of curiosity. It has 10 minutes of use. So I put it up for sale, it is a long time since I stopped entering the forum to track updates on shipments, so I do not know if there are still delays or not and if there are still peopl3 points

Thank you very much for that guide. I foloowed it and it jogged my mind to check the files I was trying to siddeload. I was trying to sideload the MindTheGapps-8.1.0-arm64-20180808_153856.zip (I guess for Android v. 8 ) when I should have been loading MindTheGapps-9.0.0-arm64-20190615_031441.zip (presumably for Android v. 9 ). Loading the v 9 Mind the G Apps resulted in booting in to Lineage. So USER ERROR on my behalf! A rather rough start in the Android world but I'm going to get started setting it up! ๐3 points

The launcher that comes with the device has the great idea of dividing the display in two halfs that are then placed on top of each other in portrait and side by side in landscape. This means that things are only marginally compressed&stretched when the screen is rotated. The price for this is that a widget can not cross the invisible line.. There are a truck load of other launchers out there, that have a different approach. One very popular is Nova. Some have individual layouts for portrait and landscape, giving you full flexibility - but double work setting things up as fo3 points

To sum up the situation of B2B customs: (but at first!! The phone is just awesome and absolutely worth waiting!!!!) We got papers to sign from FedEx, which were commercial invoice, power of attorney given to FedEx for representation at our local customs (Czech Rep.) and a form to establish an EORI number. Since we made the EORI, sign everything needed and sent back, it took one day for them to process everything also with some contacting of FxTec team, because this case is somehow unusual a bit. The next day tracking said "consingment retrieved from customs into final delivery". It w3 points

Are you missing a comment here? I moved some comments into a separate thread on delivery and customs issues, so they are easier to find. (I also tried to include the replies to the posts, if on other subjects)3 points

@tdm So we would need to provide those code lines for the changes compared how the keyboard works when German is selected? Am I right? I can find the numbers for the keys from GitHub but is the whole "keymap code line" available some where for reference? I can find some examples from the closed issue 35 Keyboard layout QWERTZ not correct #35 I can try to provide correct code lines for QWERTZ. I don't know how to handle the QWERTY since it is much different than QWERTZ. It is difficult to place ร , ร and ร to right place and move other keys some where else.3 points

I have made this for the delivery and customs issues some are experiencing, so other can find hints on how to deal with the couriers. Will try to move things in here from various other threads, let me know if I overlooked moving something relevant.2 points

This is what I currently use. Handmade and anti-vegetarian/vegan pouch. But without laugh this is my tobacco pouch, wich do the job, tested with lot of sun and 35ยฐC, quite useful when phone call happens. But I hope one day we could find a better system ๐2 points

I had same issue, you must go in system - advanced options - Keyboard and then : Layout : qwertz Custom keymap : ON so it works perfect for me2 points

I've had mine more than 6 months and initially had problems with backspace/del too but as you suggested, you get used to it, I forgot about it until you mentioned it now, but remember it did bug me at first. Wake on keypress and kbd backlight on keypress and sticky shift all work in LineageOS..... but yeah still waiting for those fixes on stock... hopefully soon.... The kbd backlight is weak, but for me it's enough to see the keys even in pitch dark, but hardly noticeable its on in dim light but still can see keys. But I imagine your behavior is the same as everyone's, so it is wha2 points

I received a Pro1 this week, and I'm impressed by its quality. I pushed the phone off my desk (by accident, not as a stress test) and it survived flawlessly. Freaked me out when it clattered onto the wood floor. Fun fact: I totally screwed installation of the included screen protector, but wasn't expecting to use a protector anyway.2 points

Just about any known bug in Stock is fixed in LOS...Against it only counts if you need it be certified to run some special picky software. Could be a banking app, or some company stuff, if you plan to use it with your job.2 points

I definitely ordered inside the window for the earbuds. You're right, I read about them months ago right here. I'll go through the topic once again. But I'm 100% positive my order was during the earbuds offer. EDIT: I ordered in May. More precisely 2019-05-17.1 point

I was pretty surprised too. I have not experienced that in Denmark before. I guess the prices here are getting so competitive so they make a substantial portion of their profits on devices. Some years ago it was the other way round, they sold devices heavily discounted to wheel in people, as the profit clearly was with the expensive monthly plans and/or usage fees. Today I can buy a no-limit-talk and 500GB/Mo Data plan for $20.5/Mo at Oister.dk If 10hours and 10Gb is enough, it is $12.5/Mo1 point

If I recall correctly it was only the very early orders that were offered those. I'm not aware if all these have been sent - nor where the 'cut' was, but if I remebmer right it was sometime July 2019. But it has been talked about also in this thread before, so some digging might provide the answer...1 point

Thanks. Yes the strip should have been included on the fxtec original pouch. I had it on previous phones.1 point

I would do this! Where would I find the logs? When someone could explain to me, how to get useful log info about focussing... As soon as I have some instructions, I'll start. Another thing that proved interesting for testing: Get OpenCamera-App and switch to CameraApi2 (two!) in the settings. You can then choose 'manual' focus mode and focus with a slider. On BOTH (Stock and LOS) if you slide to 'infinity' the far objects get less sharp. Best result for both is stopping right before infinity, lets say at 1000m. (It's displayed that way.) Even when the object is just 5m away1 point

Mine arrived this morning. The delivery guy did a mistake yesterday reading the postal code, and was too far from me in his delivery routine when he saw that he still had the parcel. He told that Fedex will contact me by mail if they think I need to pay duties/VAT. It's on my desk, can't wait to unbox it ๐1 point

@Val Thank you for your support. It looks pretty similar in our case. Just it seems, that yesterday the phone was released for delivery. Lets see. With the invoice, I am going to do it the same way as you did. I am curious, what FedEx will ask for when it arrives.1 point

I detailed the procedure somewhere in the lineage test thread but I'm on mobile and don't want to look it up right now. Perhaps it would be easier just to tell me which key on the us-intl keyboard you press to make the symbol. I can translate from there.1 point

Lineage is mostly about privacy, and it gives you more control on what the apps may do behind your back. It is also much more customizable than stock Android, and it basically gives you access to all the available options in Android system. Some of them doesn't work as they should, but at least you have the freedom to make the choice ๐ Also Lineage has most those bugs existing in stock, fixed. I haven't used the stock for a while so I don't know whether they have fxed the bugs on stock too, but basically Lineage is more usable than the stock. The disadvantage is that banking apps and some comp1 point

Me too... Despite not really a fan of flip-cases, I find that the best available solution. That is UNLESS you want to disable/reduce the edge-interaction. In which case two individual protective parts (like this) might be better.1 point

I have been on LOS and GCam port for a while, but IIRC there was two separate camera apps on stock. Like Snapdragon camera app and a second camera, probably named just as "Camera". Both of those UI's look familiar to me, so I think I had them both on my device, but in different apps. Like EskeRahn said, the top one was the preferred. But I saw the bottom one also on stock.1 point

Hi all, I hope you're well, I'm the founder of MediaDevil. I noticed we were getting some traffic from this forum so I followed the trail and voila. We're based in London (South Wimbledon) and we produce our screen protectors. If the Fxtec team entrusts us with a device for a day (we only need it for about an hour), we'll design a bespoke screen protector and it'll be ready for sale the same day. I've just emailed them. Just to comment on some of the earlier stuff: - As others have said, curved glass protectors are not the best. They tend to get lifted off the screen a1 point

Found a solution: Go to Bluetooth settings Go to used devices or available media devices Go to individual device's settings Uncheck HD-Audio And yes, it works! Likely the speakers are too old to handle the HD-Audio and there is no automatic stepdown.1 point

For those using languages other than English and German on LineageOS, it would be possible to create additional keyboard maps in the kernel to match the expected keyboard layout for your language. If anyone is interested, let me know and I can work with you.1 point

I am pretty sure it's not. Try running getevent on stock and then pressing Fn+P to get a forward slash. You should see key down for Fn followed by key down for '/' or something similar. The Lineage kernel tries to emulate a normal keyboard as much as possible because the stock way of doing the keyboard is pretty awful. You must leave keyboard layout unconfigured or things break. Which is very confusing to many users because Android tells you to configure the keyboard layout. Further, because of this, you cannot leverage any of the locale specific keyboard layouts that ship wit1 point

I haven't contacted support yet. To be honest, Erik's response above kinda put me off. But I have had success with some felt pads. Putting one where @EskeRahn suggested didn't seem to help so I have one pad in each corner underneath the screen. This seems to have greatly reduced the problem down to an acceptable level - not perfect, but a couple more pads might do it. I used felt approx 1 mm thick and double sided tape. Hopefully this will last.1 point
