One advantage of the Pro1 over the Priv? The Pro1 now officially has LineageOS support (17.1, as of this post), so that's a big advantage over the Priv, which hasn't had support from anyone since the end of 2017. It'd be pretty awesome if someone would figure out how to crack a Priv to install LineageOS...2 points

They also have mentioned renewing their contracts, which I think is a positive thing. Their communication is still pretty bad, but I have some hope for the future as long, as @VaZso mentioned, new Covid difficulties don't arise. I think the batch of Pro1s that will be shipped this month will fill most of any previous orders of long standing (and I suspect fulfill the ten Pro1X orders promised for Xmas). Obviously, I don't have any idea what the cut-off will be. I would expect, if there are still a lot of Pro1s ordered but not fulfilled, we would see a shipment in Jan or Feb as they gear up2 points

Thanks for the reply guys, I'm getting more responses here than from Support. I wouldn't mind the delay if it was just communicated2 points

Right, but there is a borderline between normal Pro1 orders and Pro1-X campaign start at 27th October. So I assume all Pro1 orders taken before 27th October should be fulfilled before Pro1-X starting to ship. However, I am unsure if later orders of normal Pro1 may or may not be included in the last batch before Pro1-X starts to ship.2 points

You are right, however, they expect delivery of Pro1-X by March 2021, so I think that is a good starting point to expect delivery of recent orders...2 points

First of all I would like to say I've been on quite the quest for a handheld device like the Pro1. I'm a Linux sysadmin and Linux enthusiast. I have Linux on both my home and laptop computers. I have a customised desktop environment containing my workflow made up of scripts and programs I created over time to make me more productive. My quest has been to find a device that let's me work in the Linux environment at an actual usable level while on the go. Well, I can safely say the Pro1 is that device! In the picture above is my Pro1 running Arch Linux inside a chroot with full r1 point

I have been using LOS 18 for 14 days and i am quite happy with it. Volte works on the latest builds and the phone works fast, would say like LOS 17. Like the new android features. Didn't find any bugs besides not working vowifi yet. Magisk v21, Gapps, xposed, banking apps... everything works. Not sure about my sound quality during call (me not them) but was shitty before.1 point

HI All, Sorry need some help. New to the forum board but getting very frustrated, ordered my Ftec Pro in November and have had my order is in stuck in processing for the past month. The money has left my bank account and when i've raised a support ticket asking for an update on a tracking number i have been completely ignored. I'm pretty sure i've not been scammed but to not have a reply is very odd/unprofessional to me. Can anyone please help provide some advice before i try to get my money back. Thanks Bobo1 point

well i have it for quite a while now this are my pros and cons: pro: -keyboard -custom firmware (unlocked bootloader) -good battery -the n900 notification light -good build quality -what you would expect cons: -bad call quality (people can't understand you) -weak wifi signal -os not the best (if you want vowifi you need lineage), needs development -ghost touches -fingerprint sensor -shifted keyboard layout to the right... why not use a normal one... -proper camera software (or a gcam port that works) things i would want to have but are not cons: -smal1 point

lol ... yea ... I'm contemplating opening my own support ticket ... but in the past, they do some public post when its a full batch, not a single user thing Just trying to cover my bases before I start rattling cages! π1 point

I hope so. They already have experience how these manufacturing-related things are going and they seems to have chosen a relatively wide timeframe. They currently have close to 1000 backers which is a number what can be clearly seen, so there is a chance a manufacturer takes them seriously enough to fulfill their needs, maybe the very same manufacturer is willing to do the process for them which is very likely. They know the background (remaining Pro1 orders, expected speed and potential problems) and they should not make the very same mistakes. I hope COVID will not cause a s1 point

My understanding is that they have no obligation the provide any warranty. However they said they would provide warranty on the IGG page.1 point

I've just received and agreed to another chance to have delivery expedited somewhat by changing my September 2019 QWERTZ order to QWERTY in following up to support request 6870 (which I declined the first time, after I wrote above quote)... As the offer now came with a hint that there might be a limited timeframe, and with all the mail Fxtec seems to be getting now that the ProΒΉ X campaign is running, I thought it might be ok to reference @Erik here to increase the likeliness that this will work out?1 point

The first part of my message was related to this question. Unfortunately it does not work with GCam (as their hardware do not have such button), but it starts Snapgragon Camera instead. So I am in GCam, pressing the button (fully), then default camera app launches. Half-pressing does nothing.1 point

Not quite. If you buy the screen assembly I assume it is, but the BOE spare screens we can get from AliExpress just got a hole, so the actual LED is behind the display with the speaker and the narcissistic camera, ADD: Roughly here on the long PCB next to the camera (Crop from the picture 73 of the disassembly manual)1 point

I have tried to take some images, but none are good.... in showing neither Pros nor cons. The light is made from individual R+G+B LEDs, with no diffuser. Clean R, G, B colours work just fine and bright, and that is the ones used in stock. If you try to use base colour combinations to get more colours, these will not keep the combined colour when viewed from a shallow angle shadowing one of the base colour-LEDs If/when I need to take a Pro1(X) apart, I will try to add some kind of diffuser above the LEDs.1 point

Yesterday I got a response from the support. So they do answer emails, it just takes time.1 point

LOS 18.0 build for Pro1 can not be official until Lineage OS team has released LOS 18.0 officially in general. LOS 17.1 became official in April 2020 but I think that this time it might happen sooner. LOS has recently reached full force after rebranding (Cyanogen Inc. saga) From XDA to Cyanogenmod to LineageOS: A brief history1 point

Being a former Priv user, I had gotten used to spontaneous reboots. Fortunately 17.1 has been rock stable these couple days. Even better than 16.0 (wifi connections are way more stable). Only problem I had is I ran out of battery completely yesterday, and when I plugged it in it started but the screen digitiser was not working i.e. the phone wouldn't register my tapping, swiping etc. I manages to use the keyboard to restart the phone, it started to work again. If anybody need to do this: open the keyboard, push the power button for a couple seconds to bring up the poweroff / restart1 point

I don't mean to self promote, the following guide it is not necessarily better than the guide on the forum, but it should be more comprehensive and provides a link to the Sailfish CI images: https://gist.github.com/Kabouik/f77539b3eb6a77b032d2fa827271b81d1 point

Woohoo! Even I managed to upgrade this time and I'm one of your dimmest members, spoilt by just running BB10 autoloaders and the occasional sideload through a GUI for all these years! Good riddance to the awful navigation buttons from previous Android and hello being able to go back on the left of the screen whether it is in portrait or landscape mode! I like Android a tiny bit more now!1 point

I certainly hope so, I'm sure that could make a lot of QWERTY users a lot happier about their Pro1. especially those with languages with national characters .1 point

SUCCESS! I managed to install the update by flashing via Lineage Recovery / ADB sideload. For anyone who might be in the same pickle as I was, the procedures I described a few posts above were the solution. The most difficult part was getting to boot into recovery, I don't know why. I am sure I chose "Boot to Recovery" a few times at the bootloader but it never worked. What worked for me was the Power Button + Volume Up button method. Talk about relief..! π TL/DR: 20200824 OTA broke my LineageOS setup. Fixed it by: 0) Downloading the latest (20200824) Line1 point

It seems to always do this, did on all the test/images too, so quite normal. Actually the gaps also 'stops' at 47% but is so much faster that we usually do not notice. (I wonder why they did not choose to stop at 42 ππ)1 point

Even if the card was too big/wrong format/wrong block size (etc) I think it would at least know that an SD card had been inserted. My phone isn't even detecting that there's an SD card in place.1 point
