EskeRahn replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Next week should be the start of production according to the newest IGG update 🙂 -

Are you sure it was the latest version you flashed? The "Build number" in about phone should be ..._20200825... "EDM", did you mean "EDL"? I have no idea if the EDL flashing acts differently in this aspect. -
Note 20 is about 8mm taller.... The flip might fit well though, if you replace the shell 🙂

Update to April 6, with March 5 security patch using OTA went smoothly. Known keyboard bug still there (see lineage thread) This thread seems rather stale, so perhaps I should stop reporting every weekly update?

Help show your Pro1/Pro1X to others close by
EskeRahn replied to EskeRahn's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Good idea to revitalise this thread, that has been dormant due to Corona. Thanks @mbecroft🙂 With all the vaccinations it should be reasonable safe again in many regions. And hopefully we will also be able show the Pro1X soon. 🤞 -
LineageOS 18.1 Official Release for Pro1
EskeRahn replied to Wheeljack's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
(lineage-18.1-20220404-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on March 5 security patch installed smoothly using OTA ) ...But the reintroduced (early August 2021) Accessibility / keyboard bug is not (yet?) fixed. The stage after download and install called "Finalising package installation" is surprising slow though) -

Are you looking at the right link? Some individual parts might be identical, and thus have older dates though. Here an example of a new one. Taken from the header of the first on the list: -

Note especially the fourth from the bottom, that despite being called "Label and Label Location" is actually the interior photographs. (the actual label is a bit above on the list) -

Yes, but oddly it is much slower than when doing it as flashing, even if you make sure the screen stays on. -
Update to March 30, with March 5 security patch using OTA went smoothly. Known keyboard bug still there (see lineage thread) (The stage after download and install called "Finalising package installation" is surprising slow though - like it is on LineageOS)

If you are on LineageOS or AICP it is a known bug.
-
Well at the least try that first, and if that works, you know the problem is at the PC side.

If I fiddle using unsigned drivers, I can get things to work, but not with signed drivers. And oddly Google's own drivers were still unsigned, last I checked.... ADD: See also this

The usual guesses would be PC, pc-usb-Port, Cable or port on the Pro1. After upgrade to new PC last fall never got flashing to work well, and fastboot acts oddly too.

I just want a simple Android phone with a Physical Keyboard (PKB)
EskeRahn replied to ExplEngineer's topic in How Tos
if you want the keyboard in the 'wrong' direction (BB-style) with few and small keys, the least huge is the UniHertz Pocket Titan. My personal favorite is the Pro1, that is about to be replaced by the Pro1X any day (after covid and other delays - the original Pro1 is unavailable except used from e.g. ebay) There is also the Cosmo Astro Slide, with larger but fewer keys, that is also close to shipping, if they have not already begun. There are a few more options with a huge Titan and and odly folding older Cosmo, but the three above would be my suggestion to have a look at, depen -

Hmm would have imagined the other way round, that some margin could have interfered with the swiping. -

Can you be a bit more specific? Swipe seems to work fine on AICP for me. Could it be something with margins? (under Display settings, Touchscreen settings) -

I personally feel the same, but they might have their good reasons for prioritising using their limited resources elsewhere - we can only guess here. -

If you mean if there is a well known and tested method the answer seems to be no. So you would have to dig into what @Jamar is referring to. BUT as you are rooted, perhaps simpler install software that can take a complete backup, And after backup do the stock flashing, flash back to Lineage and then restore, If you do find a clean way to do it on Lineage, then please let us know. -

Using magnetic adapters my self, you might try to take a magnifying glass and see if some ferromagnetic dirt might have crept in, in either side. Normal dust from the garden soil can contain enough iron to cause issues, and can be quite hard to brush or blow away.
