  1. Got it today, and took it apart, in an irreparable way. It is clearly one contiguous display., with a click-mat on top, that years back were transparent (...yuck it was gross beneath the metal frame on top...).
  2. Update to January 12 2022, with December 5 2021 security patch using OTA went smoothly. Known keyboard bug still there (see lineage thread) (The stage after download and install called "Finalising package installation" is surprising slow though - like it is on LineageOS)
  3. Oh. Too bad, so this means there are TWO errors (related or not), of not charging substantially and not charging at all while connected. Both fixed (for a while) by a reboot...
  4. Indeed Even though the company is small, it is not that everyone can do anything. So it make a lot of sense to make people doing something (potentially) profitable and not just sit around waiting.
  5. Are yours actually discharging while connected? What I have seen is that it 'stabilise' around the current value (plus minus a few percent-points)
  6. Note that the grid is moved when changing portrait/landscape, if that helps? A crazy idea: What about connecting it to an external touch-monitor through a USB-C to HDMI adapter? I have no idea if touch is supported that way though. (Haven't got an external touch monitor to test it) If you have previously set it up to accept connections from your PC, you MIGHT have a chance that way, connecting and fetching (some of) your data. Though you might not be allowed until the phone is unlocked....
  7. (lineage-18.1-20220110-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on 2021 December 5 security patch installed smoothly using OTA ) ...But the reintroduced (early August) Accessibility / keyboard bug is not (yet) fixed. The stage after download and install called "Finalising package installation" is surprising slow though)

  9. Welcome. AFAIK there are no official seller of these cases. So you would either have to do it yourself, or see if someone offers to do it for a price. If I remember correctly then somewhere in this long(!) thread there have been posted links to files for a 3D-printed case. I do not know if the link is still active, nor if others have made better cases since.... (Personally I use cheap roughly modified flip cases for a Huawei P20 Pro, see earlier in this thread, or this blog post)
  10. Though this could be useful info for Pro1-users on Ubuntu Touch if the issues are general, I think you might find other fora more suited. This forum is intended for the FxTec Pro1(X). If the issues are specific to Pinephones try their forum. If it is general for Ubuntu Touch, try an Ubuntu forum.
  11. Remember that the percentage is not an a measurement, but an estimate the phone tries to calculate as an educated guess. And if something (here for good reasons) is messing with the charging system, no big surprise that the estimate system gets a bit confused. See the sketch from this ancient post.
  12. I think it will be pure luck if you find one that matches completely. The one that I got on my pre-production unit is quite different from the one on the retail unit. The inner 'frame' that hold the cards might be a standard item, but the curved outer part hardly is. (the left one is retail) So try contacting support to get a spare part.
  13. Maybe I'm a bit pessimistic by nature, but to me what they describe with "As a worst-case scenario...", to me sounds more like "As a more realistic and less optimistic scenario..." - I can certainly think of way worse scenarios than start of shipping within two months, with the damned Covid and Chinese new year as likely obstacles. But happy new year to everyone, none the less. 🎆
  14. I have ONLY seen/heard of this phenomena on AICP and LineageOS, never on the Android stock. So I'm pretty sure that it is the common kernel of the two that got the bug. Lineage (and thus AICP) has added (or uses?) a smart feature for protecting the battery from 'overcharge' (could well be an underlying chipset feature they use?) I'm almost certain that it is a bug in this, that puts the phone in this mode too early under some unknown conditions. The conditions are cleared by a boot, for some time. See my comments on the issue in the AICP thread.

  17. I'm not sure, but think the max is 15W (QC at higher voltage)
  18. Yes, never trust the rated max output on a charger! Especially if it is an 'unknown' brand. I always use a meter to test, and have seen both way below and quite a bit above the rating. As many in here will know, I also recommend charging at no more than 5W for daily charges. I only use fast charge when I really need it, and not for full charges.
  19. Yup. The keys are just as real as on e.g. the Pro1. They are transparent, and right under them is an e-ink display, I bought one just to have it. I have considered to buy one of the defective ones you can get on ebay for $20 just to take it apart... But shipping and customs would add some $40, so have been too stingy.... Add: Just ordered one anyway.... (See e.g. this for images and a video)
  20. (I took took the liberty to change the thread title to reflect that you solved it 😇 )
  21. Personally I hope for e-ink keys like they had on the "Alias 2" a.k.a. "SCH-U750" Samsung made for Verizon. An ingenious solution, fitting 'any' language or gaming...
  22. My guess would be that the app checks for physical or virtual keyboard, but are unaware of the new 'mixed' state where half of the display is dedicated for a virtual keyboard, (and thus logically should be treated as a physical). As they assumes a virtual keyboard takes up a substantial portion of the screen layout, they change the input-mode...
  23. Are you on stock android, or some other rom? Du you see the same if you (for test) use the standard keyboard driver, and not Swiftkey? Is it a particular program, or 'any' input field? I use Swiftkey on stock, and do not see this, so I'm almost certain it is a setting somewhere that need to be changed. (the suggestion to de-select swiftkey, to see if it is a setting inside or outside swiftkey we are hunting for...)
