August is not far away, but much depends on what this really is. In its simplest form it is just a piece of plastic and a BT keyboard, only passing the USB-C though, maybe piggy-bagging the power. This way they need no drivers or the like, and might even buy all the BT keyboard logic as an existing product, so they really have 'only' the design and manufacturing of the hardware to do, and they might already have done large part of the design to make the model. Sorry I confused this with the Iphone keyboard

LineageOS 21.0 Official Release for Pro1 (QX1000)
EskeRahn replied to TeZtdevice's topic in General Discussion
(lineage-21.0-20240316-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on Feb 5 security patch installed smoothly (*) using adb sideload and MindTheGapps-14.0.0-arm64-20231025_234300) And we still can only select one keyboard layout, so no easy layout switching, for multilingual usage. -
Talking S9, they were clearly prepared for a click-on keyboard like the predecessors, but it was never released. There was a thread on that in XDA, and I have a post on it for S8 here. (Though it was obviously in the wrong direction, it was not a terribly bad solution/workaround)

PRO1, LineageOS 16.0 Official Builds: Discussion
EskeRahn replied to tdm's topic in General Discussion
This is not rom-specific. There are no internal clock in any smart phone I know of, so it needs to fetch the time from some external source. But if it got neither WiFi nor a sim, who could it ask? We had that in some threads here some four or five years back.... It COULD flash the time somewhere in going down so it was not extremely wrong when booting, but would still be wrong, and might be worse if people was unaware that the time slipped backwards each time. So the risk of people thinking the time was right would be higher They could activate GPS and try to get the clock that -
It seems to be the same data, at first glance at the least, but I guess your .gov.uk link is the authoritative base, from which other sites pull data. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/Pt7zKAA7fzLqJbJ77pn3yCCD60o/appointments https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/9_JtS_IaTpZPYyNQtsQTefcMF6Y/appointments

AH!! They got him registered with two different numbers.... https://suite.endole.co.uk/insight/people/24248551-mr-liangchen-chen https://suite.endole.co.uk/insight/people/30814671-mr-liangchen-chen

erhm??? https://suite.endole.co.uk/insight/people/24248551-mr-liangchen-chen https://suite.endole.co.uk/insight/people/24248551-mr-liangchen-chen?page=companies But the page might not be accurate, I'm quite sure he was (/is?) involved in https://suite.endole.co.uk/insight/company/09345044-livermorium-limited too. And clicking the link shows him as "product manager" there, so some of that data are not cross referenced correctly on the page.....

LineageOS 21.0 Official Release for Pro1-X (QX1050)
EskeRahn replied to TeZtdevice's topic in General Discussion
AFAIK The problem originally wasn't in the phone end, so the OS would not matter. And to make it worse some carriers are switching to 5G, not supported by Pro1/Pro1X. Some carriers only allow phones in they explicitly whitelist. To some extent a mule device have worked in tricking a carrier into allowing it in, but that trick worked better with 3G than 4G. At the baseline, it would require the carrier to allow it in, and the bands to be compatible. At some point FxTec told they had contact with a US carrier (I forgot if it was Verizon). But I have no idea why that did not end in a wh -
I'm pretty sure that is an IGG thing. The campaign does not get a penny if the goal is not reached. If the goal is reached on time they will get the money (less the cut IGG take), and at that point there are no refunds available from IGG (well there are the fortnight after the perk has been taken, but that usually only affect late investors). Any possible refunds after that, will depend on the good will of the campaign owner.. And the last part is NOT an unfair thing, as taking a perk is making an investment, where the investors has all the risk, and hope to get what they perked for

We just had @Casey react in another thread, so they are not completely inactive. I would not hold my breath for anyone receiving a pro1x nor for an update any more though - but I hope they prove me wrong...

Certainly an interesting find. Though the B&W would not work well with all apps. Had it been colour e-ink (with the known limitations of that in current generation), it would have been more likely to be useful. But still is a really small display, and not the most appealing specs either. If I were tempted I would prefer it without the hat... 🤠

yes, you are right, there still are some load at the socket, so no wonder-cure, just reduction.
-
You can get magnetic connection plugs (that also do data just fine), and this reduces the wear of the usb-port substantially. Have been using that on all my phones since galaxy 6, and BB priv.

Pro¹ X – state of production and delivery
EskeRahn replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
...Personally I could be willing to donate a minor amount - perhaps $50 - If that could help som already produced Pro1X to reach the recipient. But do not think I would pay for new devices to be produced. (I have long given up on the one I perked for as an Early Bird. Asked them to use it for spares long ago) -
Pro¹ X – state of production and delivery
EskeRahn replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
An interesting idea, but we need some info from FxTec first a) How many devices are already produced and only awaiting shipment, or perhaps the amount of money needed to send those. Have these recently been charged or checked for the need of charging? Any cost estimate on doiing that before shipping? b) Do more devices need to be produced, to fulfil the 'backlog'? If so, what amounts of money are we talking here including shipping? I'm not talking actual number, but rough ballbark figures. If few are left to be send, it might require a rather substantiial amount of money to -
LineageOS 20.0 Official Release for Pro1
EskeRahn replied to CornholioGSM's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
PS note that there is an official version 21.0 now. see https://community.fxtec.com/topic/4050-lineageos-210-official-release-for-pro1-qx1000/ -
It is an interesting thought that is much more general than this community actually. How to assure information on the web are not lost? I have no idea if it will come with GDPR complications and peoples right to be forgotten?? At the least we should be sure that who ever take the burden of maintaining a copy can not get into troubles somehow over it. I have a related issue with a tiny tiny site with addresses and the like I administer for my 1981 high school class. It is not a simple thing to have a joint ownership, so it will survive when I die. It requires that we make a formal ass

You CAN, but it requires a trick, that was posted on Indiegogo a few months ago. Just a sec, I will see if I can find it....

LineageOS 21.0 Official Release for Pro1 (QX1000)
EskeRahn replied to TeZtdevice's topic in General Discussion
Usually it is a matter of the port being too good on the pc. Drivers can also be an issue. I have had problems with usb3.0 but going through a hub also offering 3.0 was enough for me.... (My first attempt was to take a REALLY cheap old hub (usb 1??), and it worked but was extremely slow in transferring, so experimenting further used a usb 3 port on my thunderbolt 4 connected 'docking') -
