  1. Well I finally received one of these cases. The phone cover magnet does seem stronger than I was expecting, however I still doubt it will survive a decent drop. That combined with the barely holding magnetic latch means I expect the case will just fly apart as soon as it hits the ground. The latch may hold better if I remove the card holder from this case like I did my previous one, but at this point I'm holding out for a 3D printed bumper case anyway.
  2. ...I'm somewhat wary of 'magnetic' cases. How strong is the magnet? most of them seem to be very weak and the phone will go sliding with any amount of force.
  3. I also didn't notice how close the case was to the top row. ...But anyone have any idea of how you could actually reduce the size of the case edge near the keyboard, while still keeping case rigidity?
  4. I'd accept someone making them so long as they're using a quality printer, and the filament they're using is both flexible (rubberised ideally) and won't break down over time/use... It has to be able to protect the phone, probably for a long time, especially if noone else is going to be making such cases for the Pro1...
  5. ...Which variant did you purchase? They have a list for a whole bunch of them. Was it the P20 Pro like everyone else has been buying? ...And the auction has ended anyway...
  6. ...That's even larger than the Pro1! I wanted to like it (and give me yet another keyboard phone to consider), but the fact it has a 'mechanical keyboard' (IMO these do NOT belong on phones, phones are mobile pocket devices that WILL fill up with crud) as well as ending up even bigger than the oversized Pro1 means this one is a hard nope from me.
  7. This is exactly the kind of case I've been waiting for! This type of case is superior to those flappy book style ones in that it still protects the edges, corners and to an extent the screen while allowing you to actually see and use the screen without having to open a flap each time. Can't wait to see the final version. Then I just need to find somewhere that can print me a few TPU prints of it...
  8. If only that phone had real 3G support (not that CDMA2000 stuff) and WiFi It'd be a decent and unique phone for me to keep as a backup...
  9. Ah, so my July 15 preorder probably won't get them. I don't really like those in-ear style headphones anyway, would have liked the stickers though...
  10. ...Are the headphones a separate purchase, or are us early backers all supposed to receive them? With the shipping troubles of the phone itself, I'd hate to think what a second delivery of headphones to everyone will entail...
  11. IIRC they used to make slideout BT keyboard cases for iPhones, but haven't made them for anything recent. Thats probably the remnants of such a thing, with the ye olde iPhone case ripped off.
  12. Those would be some handy key additions, is that on top of the 'standard' FinQwerty additions (PgUp/Dn/etc)? ...Also, how does US International differ from a standard US QWERTY keyboard? Some of your key combos would be handy for me but I use the US standard QWERTY layout.
  13. Searching GSMArena for cases around the same dimensions as the Pro1 but in the 5-7mm depth range only results in the Vivo X9 and X9s, whose front cases so far seem to be this style. ☹️ Increasing the depth to 8mm adds a couple dozen more search results.
  14. I know, I tried to find that information earlier when I was making the previous post. Thing is, because (I only just noticed) the screen of the Pro1 is marginally smaller than the base it looks as if even the other style of P20 Pro cover will also be too big. We'll need to locate a case with smaller dimensions than the Pro1 to fit the screen portion properly. EDIT: Scratch that, because of the screen curve the vast majority of it is 'smaller' but the screen actually curves down to the same size as the base. However, because its not as thick as the base the 'rear' cover doesn't f
  15. ...Well I received a P20 Pro split case like the one shown above today. Unfortunately because the screen half slips over the rear half it is too big to sit over the Pro1 screen. ☹️ The thing is the rear half also seemed slightly too big to stay on the screen. ...One thing I have found out is the Pro1 screen is far easier to open with the protectors over the screen, just need to find one that fits...
  16. ...Looks interesting, but before I use it does the Pro1 suffer from this issue at all?
  17. ...AFAIK at least one of those cases has been posted earlier in this thread. Also, if they're anything like the 'universal' case I found, they'll be annoyingly larger than the Pro1.
  18. ...How well would a 3D printed holder go inside one of those leather cases? That way all you need to do is punch holes for the indicator LED, second speaker and rear mic. ...Any updates on your 3D printed case @Bloodhoundje?
  19. Is this the GPlay link? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=androidexpert35.com.audioDACBooster Looks like it. EDIT: 'Contains Ads' 😞 EDIT EDIT: Seems the developer had a thread on XDA, but the account has since been disabled, and the thread closed due to 'piracy'. Sketchy IMO.
  20. ...Sometimes when printing wears off stickers it leaves an 'inverse' image that can be viewed with certain angles/light sources. Have you tried shining various lights at it and seeing if anything is visible? ...And now I'm glad I removed my sticker and stuck it on the packaging.
  21. ...And it appears as if noone makes a '360°' case for the Meizu phones either. ☹️
  22. ...Speaking of other model phones, have you encountered any with similar dimensions that also have a curved screen? So far the Elephone U/U pro are the only ones I know of. EDIT: According to GSMArena searching by resoultion and phone dimensions, the Meizu 16X is the closest match at 151x73.5x7.5mm, with the Meizu 16 coming in second at 150.5x73.2x7.3mm (assuming screens of similar dimensions and size mean they're using the same panel, and the Pro1 is actually 154x73.6x13.98mm. No idea is 3mm difference is enough to make it not fit though. EDIT EDIT: Here is my list, modified to
  23. Yeah, I know they're different phones, I just keep forgetting to say P20 Pro. And those guides may say different things, but they still show different phones, and I'm expecting them to just source their P20 Pro case from the same place. If they do in fact have different version of the cases, maybe one of them will end up working for us...
  24. ...I'm somewhat doubtful they would end up making 2 variations of '360°' TPU case for a Huawei phone (an Apple one maybe...), and since neither of those auctions seem to show the P20 specific case IMO they'll just be the same case sequestris ordered in the screen protector thread.
  25. I started peeling mine of before I realised it was the actual serial number sticker. IMO they could have at least made it black instead of silver. I didn't like it on the rear anyway, I kept the sticker so I'll get a small black version of it printed and I'll stick it on one of the hinge arms so it's only visible when opened. 😉
