  1. But one made it into the US somehow, still unexplained how; merely a curiosity as knowing won't help get devices any sooner, but a curiosity nonetheless.
  2. I'll argue with you about this elsewhere, but I dont recall ever seeing that ever. So i.e. dos went from 6.2 to 6.21 there were actually 19 versions inbetween, not just a minor bump? NT 3.5 to 3.51? Look at linux kernels, same kind thing, everything I can think of.
  3. I think you severely overestimate the size of the first batch. P.S. But come to think of it, I recall earlier you invented the 3rd batch, so maybe you mean second batchers. In which case, true.
  4. Odd numbering, to me 5.5=5.50=5.5000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
  5. I've wondered the same thing myself. https://jolla.com/sailfishx/
  6. Not even available to buy for Pro1. And if it does end up for sale by Jolla, it may be restricted to Europe only like they did for Sony Xperia. long time ago it was suggested that it may be possible to get anbox running under sailfish on pro1.
  7. Congrats! You also appear to be the first US recipient. I'm curious, when did it arrive, and did you get a tracking number emailed to you first, or surprise delivery?
  8. I doubt its a test device, it's retail packaged, etc. This happened with moto-mod too, one appeared on ebay shortly after the first shipment. It will be interesting to see how much it goes for. It is curious how it got to the US tho; if someone received it in Europe they could sell it from Europe. I mean yeah sure someone coulda mailed it over or flown over with it, but why?
  9. maybe it could even include one of those chargers that works by motion. if your battery gets below 10% and no handy charger, do jumping jacks. Could help with physical fitness too.
  10. it could be like mounted to left forearm. have to learn to type one handed, but might work.... something like
  11. Congrats Popanz! I seem to recall that first boot taking forever when I tried sfos on PQ, but the instructions had said it would, so wasn't surprised. After you've played with it a bit, you should start a new thread to describe your first impressions, etc... also mention if you can get into the Jolla app store. My understanding is that Jolla has to approve the device first; not sure if Pro1's allowed in yet...
  12. I think more likely if a "bad guy" got ahold of my pro1, they'd be more likely to steal it, than install malware on it. I've always kept my smartphones unlocked, didn't even know there was any risk involved. And now that I know there is, I'm willing to take that risk. It's like that write protect jumper on some pc motherboards for bios; first time I remove it to flash bios, I never bother putting it back, and I'd imagine that's riskier than not relocking android bootloader.
  13. Yes, and you certainly don't need to put the img in usr/bin you can leave it in downloads folder or whatever, just change to that directory first or use the full path.
  14. Started on rotary dial POTS.... 1989 - First DTMF touch tone phone (although parents only paid for rotary service, so had to pulse dial) 1993 Moto DPC (550 I think) flipphone (FIRST CELLULAR) 1993 Moto Ultraclassic (the small brick) 1994 Motorola Bagphone 1994 Oki 900 - my first candybar <-- fun phone to play with back in the day 2001 Altactel candybarphone (FIRST DIGITAL) 2002 Nokia 3310 (maybe that number is right) a small t9 candybar phone 2005 Moto Raz3 V3 flipp 2010 Sony Ericson mp3 flip 2012 Samsung Flight 2 feautrephone - FIRST QWER
  15. I think the mistake is yours, or more likely you dreamed it. The closest thing to that I've seen was someone on tmo who accidentally typo'd in a post reporting he was allocated stock in first batch but wasnt IGG backer when in fact he was, and Chen replied with apology for mistake and would reallocate appropriatly, before it was clarified he was in fact IGG backer and it was his own typo - due to on screen keyboard - that caused the confusion. And even if that's what you were mistakenly referring to, that's still one, not plural.
  16. Maybe some weren't. But this one was. It's even listed in specs on home page, as someone already pointed out.
  17. Y'know what happens when you assume...
  18. In my experience with motorola smartphones, they use similar model numbers. For example Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE model number is XT897 and Moto Z² Force is XT1789, but rarely to people refer to them by model number. Then there's codenames too, asanti and nash respectively, usually seen in software images etc. So, QX1000 being the model number for F(x)Tec Pro¹ seems typical kinda thing to me. And T5 some kinda codename.
  19. Anyone in the first batch (stock assigned) outside of North America not yet received tracking infoz?
  20. They've only sent out fulfillment emails to first batch. When someone gets one from second batch, I'm sure they'll post in the thread for it, but if I had to guess that won't be til next week, but that's just a guess. So if you haven't gotten a stock allocated email by now, you're not in the first batch. That's the only conclusion you can draw. And first batch delivery is already in progress this week.
  21. Previously there was speculation it may have to do with a paypal policy that for goods they have to be delivered within certain amount of time (cant remember how long, like a month or 6 weeks or something), so can't really be used for pre-orders. Maybe they'll offer it when they get call caught up tho....
  22. Sounds like a good alternative to me!
  23. I'd never paid attention to curved screens but know many people expressed their opinion against them when it was announced. Then when first photos/screenshots showed rounded corners on the display I wondered if that is a problem because of the curved screen, seems it is. Guess just another thing to have to get used to. On the plus side, I imagine 16:9 video won't show those rounded corners when fullscreen cuz our screen is 2:1.
  24. Some custom ROMS for Photon Q had the cannot-charge-while-off bug. And yep, I got my battery low enough I couldn't complete boot. And because it powers itself back on after shutdown (when plugged in), it'd just sit there almost finish booting and then reboot, forever. No quick charge back then, although I did try various chargers (from 300mA to 2.4A), tried charging in fastboot or twrp, etc, nothing worked. In the end I had to pull the battery and charge with bench power supply. As I don't want to take apart my Pro1 anytime soon, I certainly hope you're right that quickcharge is good
  25. I don't understand this stuff well enough myself to explain it, but if you need a desktop solution that works today, I think your best bet is sfos with linux chroot. For example Filez and more infoz here: https://github.com/elros34/sailfish_ubu_chroot It's up to Ubuntu 19.04 now and appears actively maintained. I recognize the name elros34 as he did the sfos port for photon q.
