  1. CDMA doesn't get your subscriber info from your SIM card. Only GSM & LTE use SIM that way. So CDMA providers identify you by your IMEI or MEID also, especially for the 2G voice service - IF I understand correctly.
  2. FreedomPop (AT&T MVNO) (USA) working so far with no issues, although had to manually add APN. Tried to get a Tello plan (Sprint MVNO) (USA) but the website won't accept the IMEI or MEID. Quite disappointed about that actually as I intended it for primary, with the freedompop as backup when no sprint available. I'm quite interested if anyone gets Pro1 working on any CDMA carrier.
  3. If two machines, with two different cables, both do it, sounds like something wrong with the version of fastboot (if you used the same exact version on both?) or your device...
  4. The typical installation method as described on XDA won't work yet on Pro1, because we don't have a fully working version of TWRP yet. But never fear, it's still easy, five simple steps and you will have the privileges you so rightfully deserve on your own device. 1. Install Magisk Manager App on Phone Download from: https://magiskmanager.com/downloading-magisk-manager or github. After download, install the apk, which will require you to allow the install from "unknown source". 2. Install Android Platform Tools on PC (adb & fastboot) Ubuntu (and presumably de
  5. I'm still less than 24 hours in, so I'll count this as another thing I observed on the first day. Supertux should work with keyboard, after all it was written for pc. But on Pro1, it can't register two key presses at once! If I'm holding the arrow to move, I can't jump with space bar... I have to let go of the arrow. This is not good...
  6. The only reason I'd reverse them is because my instrict was to hit the del key every time I want to backspace. This may be from PQ which only has backspace. It may be from my laptop where del is above backspace. But I'm still making that mistake... And also, pro1 backspace is not necessarily bigger than delete... backspace is wider, but delete is taller, i'd venture to say del might even be bigger on pro1. And, top row is pretty close to the curved screen, it's possible to touch the screen when trying to quickly type on top row. (this wouldn't be an issue if screen wasn't
  7. I've got LTE with freedompop (AT&T MVNO). I did have to add APN; there were only 2 listed already, both labeled cingular.
  8. I just gave adaway a try with the systemless hosts magisk module installed, hopefully I can still get OTAs. Will let you know shortly..
  9. auto capitilize is usually a separate setting, although didn't notice it yet when I was going thru our device settings. I certainly don't intend to use that.
  10. Yeah, and I'm used to typing slash with my right pinky, it's supposed to be over there, w/o modifiers, right next to shift! So that isn't right. Although I realize maybe it's different on non-US keyboards, but US qwerty has slash as diagnol right from pinky on home row, with question mark its shift funtion, right next to shift key. But I know there's no room there. So they coulda done like PQ and done it bottom row where they put the useless slant arrow. [Note slant arrow was used to describe it elsewhere, sounds good enuff til me til a better term comes around.]
  11. I certainly have other comments, but I'm trying to keep this thread keyboard related... There's a setting 'auto rotate screen' which by default is disabled. When disabled, stock launcher and some apps automatically go landscape when keyboard open, and portrait when closed. However, some apps don't go landscape when the keyboard is opened. For example, discord. For this to go landscape, I have to enable auto-rotate-screen. But with that enabled, even with the keyboard open, those apps will rotate 3-ways (portrait, landscape, or upside-down landscape. It cant go upside-down portrait).
  12. Ok. Will set to alpha, I want toggled / locked SHIFT and ALT keys ;). Don't supposed you already figured out how to set that (manually on a rooted device)? I guess I could look at the link you provided...
  13. I'll start this by saying I've used PhotonQ for years, so familiar with keyboard sliders. I got the Pro 1 today. My biggest comments right now are about functionality. My biggest complaint is their "solution" for slash and question mark. No idea why they didn't include this as a key. Slash important for urls and paths. More important than a diagnol-yellow-arrow-custom-brand-new-modifier-key (2 of them actually) [that i dont even know what to call], or backslash, or back-apostrophe, or even brackets for that matter. Next gripe is no modifiers seem to be sticky. Unless t
  14. Just got my pro1 today, did all updates. It seems to me, no sticky modifiers, at least I can't figure out how to enable them easily.
  15. Mine arrived. Made a video opening and booting it. Not very interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaDnrt8pJQ0
  16. Do you see water or land when you look north from the top of a tall tree? or perhaps you can see Russia from your house?
  17. Note there is no registration/etc required to vote, just a couple clicks and done. On a sidenote, I can personally confirm at least parts of Canada exist and are real.
  18. 100% exactly! The theory sounds good tho, for both. In practice, I dunno, but I'm no expert in that area, but the theory does sound good. Note I've probably used windows less than 7 days this year, including one the time I used someones computer to check email.
  19. I don't recall having too many stuck apps under Android (although granted I use fairly basic stuff and dont play modern games) but if I did, I'd just swipe it away from the active applist... But I'm being argumentative for no reason, cuz I think that's a great feature of LOS, even if I don't use it, that's the awesome thing about LOS is it has every Android feature ever is available. Including features often not common until the next Android version. You won't see something else someone has on their device and be like "I wish I could do that on mine", it'll be the opposite, people will
  20. It's a setting. CM/LOS opens up lots of settings that are often not included in stock rom. For example mobile hotspot and other tethering options. Check developer options, etc, somewhere in settings. I'm too lazy to find it for you but I recall seeing it (although don't use it myself - kinda defeats the way android is supposed to work). Unrelated, I don't see a reason why we couldn't use the fxtec launcher with LOS. But I don't fully understand the way lollipop apps install and not sure if you can just copy apk's anymore (related to kitkat and earlier keeping the apk as is and
  21. Well I'm certainly not going to look thru and compare, but I'll take your word for it! Probably just a slightly different version of fastboot. # fastboot --version
  22. If it's really going up from 5% to 15% in another 9 days, that would be a reason to get as many phones into the states ASAP! I hope FxTec is aware of that date, regardless of who ends up paying it...
  23. I think it's US Sales Tax that you're not sure how works. But unless you live there, why should you? But incase you're curious.... Every state in the US can have sales tax if they want. The rate varies from zero to ~10% in some states. FxTec collected this from US customers to pay the state for us, so early preorders paid $649+tax, the tax amount shown as a separate line item on our invoice. (Now 699+tax). FxTec submits the collected tax to the state we are resident of on our behalf, otherwise we are supposed to do it ourselves. This has nothing to do with duty / impo
