  1. Related to this. A problem occurs when you assign a key to launch an app and the app opens ready for input. So I assign a key to my password locker and I end up with the password field filled with multiple instances of that letter. I open my word processor and I end up with that letter typed multiple times into whatever document, blank or otherwise, was set to open. Somehow, the software needs to stop reading the input if the key is held. I don't know how tricky that is, but I can't use this feature while this problem exists. If there isn't a workaround that I haven't figured out, I wi
  2. So I took my Verizon SIM (which is still active) from my Moto G6 and put it in the Pro 1. Same thing. The Pro 1 recognizes the SIM, I get APNs but no matter what I choose, it won't call or text. Put the SIM back in the G6, everything is fine. I'm fine with AT&T, so I think I'm just going to carry on.
  3. I'm getting confused by this "Mule Device" talk, basically because I don't know that term. Let me give a little more detail of my experience. The first thing I did when I got the Pro 1 was go to the page Craig posted above. That slammed the door right down, saying the phone associated with that IMEI could not be activated on their network. So I went into the Verizon store. I had a small crows of Verizon techs who were really impressed by the Pro 1 (I told them it was the Droid 5 😁). They *really* wanted to get it working on Verizon. They created a SIM for it but no matter what they did, i
  4. Hey, I'm trying to dash off answers here while fiddling with my new phone. 😉 I was specifically addressing the question asked rather than going back to the first post, which I should have. There is nothing special about Deja Office on a slider phone rather than some other except that it behaves well, fits content to the landscape screen nicely and allows you to use a hardware keyboard for entry. The latter is exceptionally useful in a PIM app and aces any other consideration. I think most well programmed Android apps will meet these requirements. The only trouble I have ever had with An
  5. DejaOffice is a PIM (Calendar/Contacts/Memos/Tasks), not an office app. I use Softmaker Office as an Office App. As a PIM, Deja Office doesn't require syncing to Google and can sync wirelessly with a desktop component on your computer, like Pimlical (which I have also used).
  6. I can assure you there are no problems with Deja Office. No tablet mode needed. It's like it was made for the Pro 1. 😀
  7. AT&T works great (Pay As You Go). I used them for years and had no trouble. Actually kind of happy to be back with them.
  8. Went to Verizon with Pro 1 in hand. The techs were impressed and tried to get it on the network, but no go. Had to go to AT&T, which worked fine. (This is on Pay-As-You-Go for both). It's possible that as more Verizon customers show up with this phone, if they do, they will certify it for their network, but not now.
  9. I admit I have never had a package delivered with a duty/tariff owed, so I can't say for sure, but I think in the US they would do the former, not the latter.
  10. Lol, there's a lot of possible quips one could make here. 😄
  11. I have seen no indication that I am being charged a tariff. It's not delivered yet, but nothing in the "get ready for delivery" email from FedEx.
  12. Since you have used the phrase about Eric being honest a couple of times, I'd just like to say that I don't think Eric has *ever* been dishonest. I think information he has given at one point in time has turned out to be not how things ended up, but I don't think that makes him a liar. I do think it's great that he is communicating more frequently. 🙂
  13. Assuming you are US, I am also assuming since mine cleared customs last night, yours will/did too. My Pro 1 is at my local facility and will be delivered this afternoon.
  14. @EskeRahn Beautiful picture. I'm so sorry, Such a gorgeous dog.
  15. I'm surprised they don't link up with USPS. Both Fedex and UPS have that option-- it may be the shipper has to know to ask for that. With that option, the major courior takes it to the closest warehouse location they service and then hand it off to the USPS who treats it like Priority Mail.
  16. You should get a "stock Assigned" email before it ships. They are shipping in small weekly batches.
  17. I'm in the US and mine is coming by FedEx. Delivery should be tomorrow EOD.
  18. If you mean Facebook, I'm not sure you'll get a real answer there either. Pretty much, you need to do the support email if you want to be assured of getting a timely and relevant answer.
  19. That's not a question anyone here can really answer. We only have guesses. The only way to get an answer to that is to send a support email to [email protected].
  20. Thanks. I stand corrected. My point was more about how complicated the law is state to state on what qualifies as taxable over the internet. How many Pro 1s are going to be delivered to VA? Is F(X) Tec sales in any state going to meet the Nexus qualifications. I dunno. Of course, none of this changes anything you have said about tariffs and transparency.
  21. Is that a Yank sitting next to someone from the EU? 😂
  22. I'll report on this next week when I have my Pro 1. 🙂
  23. I'm not any kind of tax expert, but I find nothing in my searches that suggests that individuals are in any way on the hook for sales taxes not collected by the merchant, and there is clearly no enforcement mechanism for that. If anyone has factual information to the contrary, please do lay it out. If anything, F(x) Tech will be in trouble if they are required to pay sales tax, but that's a big if and if anyone can figure out the complicated Nexus laws here, it's beyond my pay grade. lol. So, no, I won't be paying any sales tax, I just hope F(x) Tec aren't making a bigger legal mess f
  24. I will be one of those refusing the refund. 😉
