Thanks for pointing out before the mass panic :). Corrected to January as it was meant.

Some pages ago during December I requested a refund for preorder, and decided to wait till FxTec could actually deliver. Everything has been processed in a friendly and timely manner :-). What I can a

That's what makes me so frustrated. If I wanted an outdated phone, I would go for the old Droid, HTC Desire Z or a Nokia E7 for less than 100€.

That's just not true.

An old Nokia, Droid or even Photon never had the newest technology. They were sold as mid-range phones both with the chips as well as their displays. It was just too risky to build a high-end device with a keyboard that would probably not sell since there was no market.

This company took the risk and as a startup didn't have access to the newest chip. Still, it was high-end two years ago and by any means isn't slow nowadays. As I said before, you'd probably not even notice a difference to a 845 or the newest 855. It's like comparing an Intel 6700K to an Intel 8700K.

Especially considering other factors as the screen, memory, battery and storage it's definitely not outdated. And getting that hardware for ~650$/€ is from my view very fair.

I don't think everyone is loosing trust, the few here in the forum throwing a tantrum is just a small subset of those who ordered.
Most are just quietly waiting I guess. I'm still with fxtec and happy they provide us a phone soon, so keep going! BUT please as many here stated work on your communication.

Yep. I suspect most people up till now have been quiet and have had better things to do over the literal three days since we got the last update.

November 2019.

Officially, all pre-ordered devices should get shipped by mid-november. However, a second batch will be sent out then, so that info is unclear. They want to have general availability (direct order) in december, so all preorders and orders should have been shipped by end of novembet.

The support also told me before that the batches would only be shipped with 2-3 days of difference.

My best non-official and realistic guess is that all devices get shipped by christmas - if they do have or get high production rates (500+ devices per day). That's at least what I hope.

Erik said he was going to post some further information today, we'll have to wait.

Hi guys,

Tiny informal update before I split this thread to make the news easier to find. We are on track with the 1st batch as previously suggested. I have been told that customers from the 1st batch will soon receive a confirmation that stock has been assigned to their order. I expect it to be done by tomorrow. Obviously, this won't be sent to everyone who has an order, as the first batch is relatively small to the ones we expect to come shortly after.

On a side note, please be aware that I do not represent the PR or communications team - I am a techie at Fxtec involved in design/development. My responses might be imperfect, but I provide information to the best of my knowledge. The comms team does not usually get involved with the forum, as this place is for the community to discuss freely. For support and direct team contact, please always email info@fxtec.com and someone will get back to you within 1 business day.

Hey @Erik, thank you for this update. I really appreciate you being here standing out to the community giving us news and taking all the tantrums and critics! ❤️

Guess then tomorrow a new wave of happiness and disappointment will roll over this forum. :D Hopefully I'm with the happy ones.

Maybe comms team should stop tweeting (tweets are hilarious ) and interact more with the community. 😉

Great work so far, keep going!

Hi Erik,

It is really nice that you post in these forums despite not being officially working in PR team. It looks like very soon some customers will get individual notification of shipping devices.

Additionally I think it would be nice that PR team would officially support this forum. We as customers are left alone and some might lose patience. It could even be that fxtec does not even notice the emotions from this forum. This is alsi quite important, as this thread has already more than 25000 views in the mean time...

Thanks, ravelo

I'm feel like I'm losing a bit of trust. I keep thinking that this company will be supplying updates, support, and any warranty cover that I need for a little while to come. And yet so far they've shown at best naïvety and at worst dishonesty.

But in the other hand they are aiming to pioneer the return of the physical keyboard form factor. I believe in them for that, and I want to support that return which I'm not doing if I cancel my order.

Hi Erik,

Thank you for you are being here and give us some information you know.

Could you please tell us something about what part of preorders may included in the first batch?
I mean about what part of preorders or what part of IGG users or how many devices we are speaking about or something closer?

...at least some news about the state of shipments from China to warehouses at EU / USA?

Thank you in advance.

wat. Comparing a 6700K to a 8700K (which has 2c/4t more and overclocks like hell because 14nm++) is comparing Wittgenstein in my avatar to a Cray-1: they're miles apart in performance!

if order numbers are sequential, given that mine was 1008X, and the refund screenshot page 19/20 was 3XXXX, this means they l possibly have 20k+ preorders. Good for them and yet also provides us a perspective that we might be waiting for awhile this month for our preorders. Hopefully they'll get through the preorders as planned this month. I assumed they started order numbers at 10000 in their system for "formatting purposes" but If there were 10000 orders before me then ... yea its gonna take awhile.

I'm taking a break from this thread.  It's so muddled now, & most of the info is out of date, not to say unofficial & therefore unreliable, which all leads to frustration & disappointment. It's completely getting me down 😔. Most worryingly, I can't see any likelihood of those at Fx who are really 'in the know' taking any serious interest in addressing customer concerns.  The two videos indicate to me that they are more interested in their little pet project than the success of the wider business, of which we are the key part.  So on the assumption that they won't help us out regarding production size or shipping status of the consignment that really concerns most pre-order customers (me incl., hopefully) there's just no point in my following this any longer.

Good luck to those of you who choose to keep this up.  For me, my head is hurting too much from bashing the Fx brick wall.  I'm seriously considering cancelling.... 😪

"ouch". This wait is gonna be awhile then. I'm cheering you folks ahead on and thanks for chiming in! Do share if you get a tracking number!

(wow, 30k orders)

afaik the order numbers do not represent the actual numbers of active preorders. (not verified by fxtec)
