  2. Well it seems to work! I was more focused on the hinge (the flex circuit) , trying to open and close the keyboard multiple time. But you're right, I spent a bit of time to press all the keys with my thumbs, and so far I don't see the problem anymore. Maybe I was too careful! Thanks a lot for the advice! To come back to the topic's subject, go ahead with the update 😉

  3. Production and software updates are the fault of IdeaLTE. Lack of communication is clearly the fault of FxTec.

  5. I did, thank you. I already reflashed stock via fastboot, rooting again, reinstalling titanium backup hoping for the best

  6. My instructions (to myself) worked perfectly. Titanium Backup even found the backup folder it used before on my SD card the last time I was rooted. Will do a backup to the cloud and play around a bit, and work on data backups (personal files) getting ready for the LOS wipe. Thanks all, especially @david

  8. Hum, it seem to be hardware. It was masked by the previous behavior as multiple keypress was ignored. Now all signals are recorded. If I press very gently the m keys, it is not apenning sometimes.

  9. Go ahead the currently available OTA is good. They fixed the issue that affected early adopters.

  10. Yes it is. However, fixed version of that was started again for those who did not update the OTA earlier.

  11. Just throwing in my "me too." I sometimes work off-site not too far from my work's main campus in an area with poor cell service, but that has wifi. When I'm up and running everything works fine, and the wifi lets me use Google Voice and WiFi calling with my carrier. I get reboots every so often when I'm here. Always seems to be in the same physical location, not so much in other places (this phenomenon was mentioned earlier in the thread). I'm in the US, on T-Mobile (although considering switching to Mint, which probably won't make much of a difference haha) I will also mention that toda

  12. I haven't noticed any difference in signal strength or signal quality between stock code and LOS. I don't find the radio in the Pro1 to be all that great (when compared to my other phones), there was no difference between stock or LOS. However, there is an amazing difference in usability and function with LOS. I would highly recommend it if one doesn't need all the safety net garbage, errr... capabilities.

  13. Yes, they are available to copy. It's pretty trivial to do this. Oh, and I forgot to mention config files. Those can affect behavior also. But I think I've got all the relevant config files in place and up to date. Also note that Lineage is free to take changes to improve performance that aren't in stock. Particularly with WiFi and GPS. For example, on a previous device I owned, stock only enabled 2.4ghz on WiFi but 5ghz worked perfectly fine. So I enabled it.

  14. Note that he didn't say to use the Pro1 (although there is nothing wrong with doing so), but just physical keyboards. I use my Droid 4 as a daily driver so I've got this one covered. 😁

  15. Good point. Yes, this is crucial! 😁 Funny that some of us can't do that because the production of that device has been interrupted by the virus itself...

  16. For some reason my call volume is too high. Even though I have it set to zero in settings I can still hear the caller, even when I take the phone away from my ear. Loudspeaker is definitely off. At the setting in the screenshot it's almost unbearable. I'm sure I haven't overlooked anything in settings. Anyone else experienced this and how did you tackle it? Thankees😁

  17. Since many phones were sold with forum threads, I'll try it like that as well. I'd like to buy a Pro1 Qwertz edition. For security reasons and no fees I'd prefer to buy it with meeting in person, so if you happen to be from south Germany, Austria or Switzerland, that would be great (I'm from Munic). Otherwise, ebay with Paypal would be the way to go. Tiny scratches shouldn't be a problem, I don't care about packaging or the earbuds. Another option would be to pass my preorder made in september to you or (if not possible) send you the new device as soon as it gets deliver

  18. Exactly. I think I have to go through all the OTAs, but I will root it first. EDIT: Rooting first seems like a bad Idea, worst case is running through all the hiccups I just had. So installing all the OTA's first, rooting afterwards seems to be smarter. Does anyone have the 20200306 image?

  19. Yes, I heard the same. And hospital personnel have to work even if sick. Horrible decisions for doctors to have to make, not just once, but continuously.

  20. I'm hearing from someone with contacts to italian medical personnel, that some hospitals already have to use triage, that they already need to make the choice which severely affected covid-19 patients will get treatment and which don't (= will be left to possibly die, although saving their lives might very well be possible). And this still is only the beginning.

  22. Try "massaging" your keyboard and see if that fixes it? If it is a mechanical issue rather than an electrical issue it could help. Maybe your keyboard is still too stiff and too new. I found mine got easier to use as it aged a bit.

  23. Yes, you're right. I'll try to make a video. It's unfortunate, some time it works just fine.

  29. This issue is fixed in the latest OTA-update. There is also a work around available: - https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.punksta.apps.volumecontrol/ Please, use the search function next time since this is third thread to same issue. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15uE12Yv5nMvIF42U33cY5FQoF6M66QIn00cC876uf7Y/htmlview#gid=0

  30. I had mostly old apps too, but I was forced to upgrade WhatsApp on the old phone and I did upgrade Viber to try to get notifications to work (which they did not). I don't know why some of the other apps were of the newer variety. They might have been more recently installed. When you have hundreds of apps and the restore program hangs when it hits one, it is a pain in the @ss to do a batch restore. It took me hours to restore my apps to the Pro1 from my old phone. Of course, part of that was that I didn't get smart until near the end of the process and started filtering out restoring the

  31. Thanks, Just got confirmed from @Waxberry that the 20200306 is indeed a variant back on September security level, that IS in compliance with CTS / Safetynet (Those of us that updated to 20200304 will have to wait for a later common update - it is finished but awaits to be certified, hopefully in the coming week)

  33. Are the system properties for stock not available to copy, or is this a case of replacement open source code that has different properties than the stock code it replaces? Thanks for explaining which pieces might behave differently. For those people with 2 phones, it would be nice to test signal strength of stock and LOS of wifi at different locations and with different access points. Sounds like such a test isn't needed for cellular, other than if there are system properties involved. Same type of test with GPS, side by side. I could flash one and then the other, but that isn't a

  34. In theory Lineage should provide equal performance as stock for all components. If it does not, let me know and I will look into it. Some of the sub-systems that you mention (gps, wifi) have partial open-source components and partial closed-source components. If for some reason the open source components do not work as well as stock, I can look into it. But I am not aware of any such issues at the moment. Some of the sub-systems are pretty much completely closed source (camera, cell radio). These should certainly perform identical to stock. With that sai

  37. And a very important factor here is that some will need an Iron lung for a while, but recover completely afterwards. So to the extent this treatment is available the mortality will be lower than if not. So even if the mortality in hindsight shows a low number, a lot of people might have needed the help of the health care system to survive. And this brings us back to the whole purpose of all that various governments are doing is to to stretch the whole thing over time, so the health system will not break down, as it seems to have done locally in northern Italy. So to assess the danger

  38. They might. But I do think that other estimations are pessimistic. China only documents cases with symptoms, so the lethal rate looks higher than it is. Italia has LOTS of undocumented cases that also increase the proportion of (documented) deaths. The countries with well documented cases and a good health system always had rates of 0.1-0.5% but we will only know in the end.

  41. Correct request. I hope F(x)tec will catch up production relatively soon and you will receive your product in the near future or at least you can find someone who don't need it or willing to wait a bit longer for a more polished software or any other reason. For me, I am really happy with my QWERTZ Pro1 what I use and I would personally buy it again so I hope you will also enjoy your Pro1 soon.

  42. It worked. OTA info screen: I then went into Magisk Manager and uninstalled it, telling it to restore the previous image. Next, started the download for the OTA: One interesting thing was that it automatically started installing after the download. I thought in the past that it gave you an option tap something to start the install after the download was done, but I could be mistaken about that. This means it is important to uninstall Magisk before even starting the download. It also showed 100% complete immediately after the download was com

  44. Ok, so the restore-tool sends the idealte-signed (or is it qualcomm-signed?) firehose programmer to the phone, and then communicates with said programmer over USB to send it the stuff it has to flash (or receive whatever it reads), am I getting this right? So in theory, if one were to take the signed firehose from your tool it could be used with the Linaro tool or something similar? And I take it that you don't have the firehose source (and if you had you couldn't sign the resulting binary), but what with the code from cyngn? I suppose you are not at liberty to release the source of

  45. Yass! Oh, that sounds very interesting! How much is your tool dependent on the NDA stuff F(x)tec gave you? Do you think it is possible to develop something like it as open source, and add reading capabilities to it? I mean, that sounds like a prime way to fully, completely, back up your device :D But apart from that, if you can read flash with EDL, doesn't that kind of defeat locked bootloaders? As in, now I can dump the data from the phone before I tamper with it to get the decryption key? Or is that completely mitigated by a part of the encryption key being stored in a secu

  46. @Wikiwide do not worry about the age of your laptop or the charge in your phone battery. EDL programming is not very demanding on speed or current, and the device does not use the battery at all in EDL mode -- it does not operate on battery power nor charge the battery. In fact, if you disassemble the device, you will find that you do not even need to have the battery connected to use EDL mode.
