  1. Always a few customs offices that have never done "DDP" (Delivered Duty Paid) shipments in their lives. Please email info@fxtec.com and we'll teach them how to do their jobs as usual.

  2. Again, this is a matter of personal preference and various factors like hand size. I found the keyboards on all of my work issued BBs unusable and 95% of the time typed the sentence "I'll get back to you." 😄 I find the Pro1 keyboard a joy to use and these days snap it open for even the shortest text. At this point, I very rarely use an on-screen keyboard. So neither is superior. We just have to hope for many different styles of keyboard phones because one will never satisfy everyone.

  3. Again, in my case, my right thumb reaches 7,T,F,V without stretching. My left thumb reaches 6,T,G,V without stretching. I remember trying out the first Droid way back when and saying, no, keys too small and close together for comfort. Maybe I've got bigger hands than most, but finally someone has accommodated me. 😉 Also I hate screens that re less than 6". 😄

  5. Years ago, back when it was hard to get good smartphones without a contract in the US, Expansys was the go-to distributor to pick up international phones, So they have a lot of experience with shipping and handling electronics for overseas distribution.

  6. We have various threads where VoLTE have been mentioned. e.g. on AT&T closing down some networks. VoLTE is similar to VoWiFI in that it handles normal voice-calls through pure data-connection. I know that VoLTE works with LineageOS, 😁 And others have reported it working with stock Android too. - But I have not (yet?) been able to get it to work with stock for me. It is easy to test if it is working on the Pro1, as we can select LTE as the only allowed network type (Settings, Network, Mobile network, Advanced). And if voice calls still works VoLTE is active. 🙂

  7. SOLD Hi, Unfortunately due to the ongoing pandemic, my business has changed drastically and I am simply no longer able to justify the device. Helpfully, I've done nothing but unbox it and give it one full charge (then let it drain to half and turned it off again). I've never typed on it, it's never associated to a WIFI access point, nor has it seen any SIM card. I have all the original packaging (including the cellophane plastic!). No scuffs marks or...anything. 700EUR + shipping costs I am located in Germany and prefer to ship within the EU customs union only. Bank

  8. I've done nothing at all, but VoLTE, video and wifi calling are all enabled for me on stock. Mobilcom-Debitel, Germany. ...that's not helpful, is it?

  12. Exactly. All devices are made with a number of decisions / compromises. Different people got different usage patterns, different hand size, More or less sharp vision.... etc So we will never have a single device that is optimal for everyone. But hopefully a wide range of products fitting a wide range of people.

  13. You have to go to your account at the main fxtec.com page. There is the tracking info under the "completed" marked order.

  14. IIRC, the last instructions given when receiving an import fee, was to accept it and send it to support for reimbursement:

  15. Hello, see this thread. I got yesterday some information from the support: Unfortunately, we do not currently have an ETA on when the QWERTZ model might be back. We suggest joining our newsletter at https://mail.webfx.co/h/i/censored to be amongst the first hear when we have any changes to shipping or future updates. Feel free to let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. I just added the newsletter and wait for it.

  16. That's who they used when they shipped mine last year. So that's normal for most destinations (Russia not included I think). My guess is they truck them from factory in sz to expansys in hk and fedex picks them up from expansys.

  17. I got an email from Fedex with tracking IGG order , I hope for them i'm the last one...

  18. For me, it took about 1-2 weeks to get used to the size. Also, I had to change my grip little bit. First I tried to type while keeping my palm "behind" the phone but then I kind of "dropped" the phone more to my fingers. Now it is much more natural. My previous QWERTY phone was Droid 4 so it was big change. If I need to type few words I might use virtual keyboard but for everything else I use physical keyboard.

  20. They're coming, any moment today or tomorrow the warehouse will send us the dispatch report and that's when we'll let you know of the tracking :). One part of the shipment is complete. They're just working on the remaining before they mark this batch as shipped - so today or tomorrow. There's a chance Fedex will notify you before we have the tracking, as the labels are already booked.

  21. I hope it is not the case. I understand there is a higher cost associated with more layouts available, but I have a QWERTZ unit and I am very happy with it. I would be more happier if they had a non-shifted QWERTY instead, but the shifted QWERTY is a worse option for me. I mean I would buy it if the shifted QWERTY would be the only option, but I feel the non-shifted QWERTY-like variant is a much better option when you think about international layouts and I also think it is more convenient for general usage because it does not differ from casual keyboards, so no need for the brain

  22. Here is my dog, Magne, the son of Tor and Jernsaksa (Thor and Iron Dagger) 🥰 And yes, he is as fierce a worrier as his name suggests. The only thing that frightens him is his own shadow.

  23. There are a lot of interesting files in /sys/class/power_supply/, which either show battery and USB data, or can be written to in order to control the charging process. I had an Automate (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.llamalab.automate) script, that would stop charging at 90 % on my MotoZ Play. Unfortunately, I did not have the time to make a script for the Pro1. If you are willing to wait for a few months, I might post a script here ...

  24. Not exactly strange. For calls to work on LTE, it needs VoLTE, which is a different standard. But so far I've seen, it has been a complete shitshow in North American networks. A lot of times it's only on a subset of their own phones sold that works. North American carriers do this kind of bullshit all the time. Device whitelisting, slowing or outright not providing updates, you name it. They seem to only care about locking you into a new contract every 2 years with "new" hardware. Whereas my 4 year old, North American market BlackBerry Priv which has been out of support and pro
