  1. You can se NFC antanna in the picture below. It is the black line around the camera module. For me it works best when try to aim to the mic.

  2. Ahhh, it's around the camea module? Genius, that should be in the manual! Works a treat! Here it is, the fxtex pro1 NFC position: Fxtec Pro1 NFC position.mp4

  4. And before you ask: f(x)tec supports (almost encourages) people installing othes operating systems. So unlocking the bootloader and installing Lineage does not void your warranty.

  5. Install LineageOS! It is just plain Android without Google "features" 🙂

  7. Hi, I noticed that sometimes while typing on the Pro1 a key gets "stuck" and produces input for ~1s after it's been released. This happens on both stock and LineageOS. In such a situation, I'd get many repetitions of a letter on stock (for instance: rubbbbbbbbbbbbbbb when typing rubbish or lauggggggggggggggg when typing laugh). On LineageOS, this is registered as a long key press, which triggers the diacritic selection dialog. It's a total bummer when trying to get decent writing speeds. Is this some driver issue F(x)tec is aware of or is it a hardware issue?

  8. I don't have a direct view of percentages but I'll say that I've had no issues with mine. On the unofficial discord pro1 chat we +/- keep track of who has a Pro1 and who has a hardware issue (and there's plenty of chit chat). Currently 29 people shown online are marked as having the phone, 1 of which has broken screen due to a fall and another I know had an issue and got his phone replaced under warranty. It seems to me a fairly small minority. Some major things have been fixed, Android 10 not yet. Lineage (now official Lineage) and Sailfish are rolling nicely.

  9. F(x) Tec advertises alternate OSes as a feature of buying the Pro 1, as well as promoting them on their twitter feed, so you can be sure it doesn't void warranty. They also provide the means to restore stock (it restores an older version, but then you take the updates): I've done the restore to stock a couple of times, so I know it works although I am now on Lineage.

  10. Thank you all a lot! Knowing that it is slightly more to the upper right (I thought it would be centered, slightly above the FxTec logo) might help with future tries of payments.

  11. > did all the 2019 order where shipped At least one Pro1 ordered on Nov 7 has now been delivered (it's on the Got-Your-Pro1 -thread). I ordered mine a week later on Nov 15 and haven't got the phone, tracking id nor the assimilation mail yet.

  15. Nothing yet about spare parts from F(x) Tec. My guess is they can't get into the spare parts biz until they catch up on orders and have stock on hand. You can certainly try asking them, because anyone here is just guessing. Nice that you escaped your potential disaster with minimum consequences. 🙂

  17. I think that you should be able to skip Google privacy policy if you do not add Google account to the phone. At least it worked for me.

  18. It would be good to have a tutorial on how to capture the logs. I do not know how to dig them after a reboot.

  19. Another data point: seemingly every time I come home from being out, and the phone switches from cellular to my home wifi, a reboot occurs. Almost without fail. The opposite, switching from wifi to cellular, does not cause a reboot

  21. FinQwerty fixes that and other minor keyboard quirks for Stock. I can HIGHLY recommend it. it is NOT something running, just a loader presenting more layout files to the system. And thus works fine with SwiftKey too.

  22. FYI, I did report this on your issue tracker in April; you marked it as upstream bug. https://github.com/tdm/android_device_fxtec_pro1/issues/52 I was unsure if netmans keyboard driver (pushed to stock early march) fixed it or not since I've been on lineage (which now results in accent chooser instead of bunch of repeated characters) but sounds like still an issue there too...

  24. I tend to think that things like batteries could be changed without having to recertify the device as it has nothing whatever to do with the radios, as stated. We could always take the approach I used on my old VHS movie camera. I removed the sealed lead battery from its battery pack and turned it into an adapter that went via speaker wire to a lawnmower battery I wore in a backpack while filming. I ran it for days and never EVER ran out of juice while filming. :)

  25. I'm baffled too. In your reference to older keyboard phones you clearly have never used one of the many many Nokias with the same mechanism principle, or you would know that a tilted slider is opened differently than a straight slider. AND that many people had issues with those the first few times too. YES it is not intuitive to open, and YES f(x)tec could have done a more clear job telling that to people. But that you haven't mastered to open it yet does not make it a "design flaw". With that attitude a bike is a "design flaw" having only two wheels, and thus not easy and intui

  27. I split some of the replies here into a separate thread ,https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2475-discussion-and-testing-on-features-and-knownpotential-issues/ in an attempt to keep this thread on the known bugs only.
