  1. I loved my N97mini, except that it was useless outdoors in the summer. So I actually carried a secondary phone (Samsung S8500 Wave) for outdoor usage...
  2. Sounds like you could be right. Looks like an odd scam. The account created a few days ago using a "spamdecoy" mail-address. It all have an ooze of fake... But I could be wrong of course.
  3. These are really strange issues. But I have a strong suspicion that it is related to one or more specific bands. I have no idea if it is switching from that band to a weak signal or it is switching to that band with a weak signal. I mean if it was just a weak signal in general, then more people would have it frequently. Say when ever we go to a basement, or a a parking cellar or tunnel without repeaters. I have a friend living in a rural area with very weak signals for my provider, only able to use my phones in some rooms and preferable near the windows at one end, and seldom 4G, jus
  4. The Phone I doubt I will ever miss is the HTC Diamond. Not because of the hardware, but the extremely unstable Windows software. I would be lucky to have a day without a reboot, and I needed to do a factory reset at the least every fortnight! I actually ended up making a MORT_SCRIPT that could perform a full factory restore, and install my apps, and set the needed settings!!! Ran it about every second week, or when the device had messed it self up too much- Often when the phone rang you would be unable to pick it up.... With Vista being a competitor, I think this is the worst software M
  5. What I meant was that you already got an On/Off slider-switch called "custom keymap", so I just thought that flipping that to Off, would work just as fine as deleting the file. And the odd shortcut for Off was intended for the case where people messed up the layout completely, maiming the keyboard. Here a simple way to reset quickly could be handy. But as you said if people can copy the the file they can also reconnect and delete it. Or find and flip the switch using touch only.
  6. Would it be possible to make access to this folder available without root, or to fetch it from a different user-available location? C:\util\ADB>adb shell ls -R /persist/data/keyboard/ ls: /persist/data/keyboard/: Permission denied Would deselect of "Custom layout" under keyboards not work just as well as removing any added file, for the test purpose? IDEA: A bit similar to switching languages with Ctrl-Space it COULD be handy with some master key-combo that turned off the usage of any custom layout, if people have messed it up completely. I would suggest a combo hard to do (s
  7. Thanks. It took me a while to guess how to find the qwertY/qwertZ setting. I browsed through the Settings-tree unable to guess where it is. Gave up and tried searching for "qwerty" or "qwertz" that did not find it either. BUT if I do a search for "keyboard" or "layout" it do pop up on the search-list. ๐Ÿ™‚ Would be nice if it had some natural entry in the settings-tree, preferably under Settings โ–บ Language & Input โ–บ Physical keyboard Or perhaps in a special top level setting group for all the customizations settings that are device specific. e.g. "Proยน" or "Proยน sp
  8. "PU leather" Reads: Phew 'leather' ๐Ÿ˜‡
  9. I'm not sure who you were replying. The Dux ducis is plastic. See their own page
  10. Yes it is really close to fitting, so if someone wanted to let the adhesive go directly on the Pro1 that extra 1mm might be enough for it to close. ๐Ÿ™‚ Had it been me, I would venture the bend. Say over the edge of a table using some books or small blocks of wood, like this sketch
  11. Most likely the stiff parts are made with cardboard between layers of plastic. So it should be easy to extend the thickness by bending close to the fold over the edge of a table or the like.
  12. Looks interesting, and nice and simple! Though it is clearly not build for opening to the left. It might work perfectly well doing so(!) That is NOT using the fold down function. SO I suggest experimenting a bit in either direction before glueing it on. The flip cases I'm currently using are opening like a Japanese book to the right. The great benefit of this is that the flap is under the display when the Pro1 is opened, and not in front of the keyboard. Plus the keys and fingerprint reader are protected when closed (no accidental fingerprint triggering taking it out of your pocket either
  13. Please note that the QWERTZ and QWERTY version of the Prpo1 are COMPLETELY identical internally, the ONLY difference is what is printed on the keys. So you can test qwertZ on a qwertY Pro1 (or vice versa). (Obviously testing like this is slightly confusing as the qwertY letter print is shifted compared to the qwertZ)
  14. Indeed. And for anyone that would like to say a more substantial thanks, I will refer to this:
  15. That was how I read it too. I assume you were referring to why the Lineage flash has a separate .img file, and not the post a bit above on the qwertZ .img, right? So the procedure for people to apply the boot-qwertz-test1.img is after the full install of Test12 (or Test11), right?
  16. You lost me there. If people want to use qwertz would the boot-qwertz-test1.img you linked above then be overwritten from the payload, bin?
  17. I have tried some that are for other models, that has the pop-off issues. I do not recall if it was p30 pro or some of the others. I have used these criterias as the primary search: https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nHeightMin=153&nHeightMax=155&nWidthMin=73&nWidthMax=74&nThicknessMin=6&nThicknessMax=8 The relatively new "Huawei Nova 5T" with 154.3 x 74 might be interesting (haven't tried). See a compare here https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9106&idPhone2=9635&idPhone3=9803 It also matters how round the corners are, dependi
  18. (Test12 works fine here, both. Only used slightly though)
  19. The last we heard was the last update was still stuck in certification (guess as part of the Corona-mess everywhere?). And any new updates will need certification too. So until that is solved I'm not expecting any new fixes. ๐Ÿ˜ข
  20. Well they got the Crackberry forum where they can share their frustration over things that does not work, and are highly unlikely to ever be fixed... ๐Ÿ˜‡ (But in all fairness, also help each other with known workarounds, hints and the like)
  21. I see both pros and cons on both Full and Alpha, so if reasonably simple it would be nice to give the user the option to choose what each of us prefer.
  22. There sure are bugs in that code. I get substantially worse stamina when connecting to my WiFi router with 5GHz than 2.4GHz (Distance about 1m) I have given up using 5GHz for now. This goes for both stock and Lineage. (Otherwise both works fine here, I do not see the reboot issue)
  23. Let me try to add a mention of @Erik, hopefully he can help, or can find someone that can ๐Ÿ˜‡
  24. Before all this corona/covid stuff we had a thread with people that got a Pro1 and was willing to help others to get a chance of a hands on. A few scores replied, some in the US, so with a little luck some are close to you. Check this thread: https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2738-help-show-your-pro1-to-others-close-by/ And on the network thing as I understand it, it is complex with some carriers and easy with others. There are other threads on that, but I hope some US reader can kick in with the relevant links here. If I recall right it was @Craig that started that thread.
