  1. Here are my pro tips: Go select the APN in the SIM settings menu if network data is not working. If still no network data you may have to create an APN manually. Customize yourself a smart bookcase as it will solve some of the basic issues people are complaining about: Unwanted input on the screen edge. Though that one was never much of an issue for me as I've used a curved display since Samsung S7 Edge. Too many attempts on Fingerprint reader. That one is really a pain without a case. Install Fx Service to test and use your smart case auto lock.
  2. I'm thinking of adding an option to vibrate on key press, that should be fun and help compensate for my left Ctrl key that's not giving any tactile feedback anymore.
  3. Too late that special discount has expired. I've now combined those two broken Pro1 in one working one.
  4. I had exactly the same symptoms until it was hardly usable. The ghost inputs where mostly located along the same vertical landscape pixel line. You can check that using some touch tester app. The latest version of Fx Service can disable the touch screen altogether. There is a shortcut to toggle the overlay that's disabling the touches, Ctrl + Fn + O.
  5. Actually I don't mind the naked screws, too bad they are not black though. I just replaced one of those silver screws with a black one from an age old Nokia E7 repair kit. Works great.
  6. I clarified that with @DieBruine via pm and what he did is actually just swap the Pro1 screen assembly that includes display, camera, speaker, a few sensors and bezel. This is very straight forward to achieve with the proper tools. The trickiest part being to remove the stickers on those five screws without damaging them. Then you just have two cables to disconnect, swap the screen assembly, put everything back together and you are done. Replacing the screen and touch panel itself is certainly more involving but looks doable. I got myself a couple of those Elephone U Pro panels off ebay f
  7. So I went ahead anyway and did swap the screen assembly, that was very easy to do. Now I have one working Pro1, from which I'm writing that post, and another useless Pro1 with both a broken touch panel and a broken keyboard. Today I also received an email from support asking me to send my Pro1 for repair. I reckon I'll post it tomorrow hoping you guys can fix both keyboard and touch panel or just send me a new phone instead.
  8. It could be that that security update itself took care of that. My guess is that something was fixed to prevent background services to hide themselves. TBH I like it. At least you know when something is going on. I too noticed a few other icons popping up, doing their thing and then vanishing again. Therefore it's probably nothing new with the wireless update itself. It is just that now you can see it.
  9. Two broken Pro1 for the price of three brand new ones, it is a bargain. You also have to consider that one of them is actually both: broken and brand new 🤣
  10. @Erik So it looks like you guys have your hands full. I have a Pro1 with mostly just a broken touch panel and one with a broken keyboard. If I were to swap the screen assembly in theory I would have a working Pro1 with just a squishy Ctrl key. My second Pro1 would then have a broken keyboard and touch panel, I could send you guys this one for repair. Would that void my warranty? 🤣
  11. Is it me or are posts vanishing from this thread?
  12. I have two and both are broken 😭 For €2000 they are both yours. 🤣 Come on it's a bargain.
  13. Just published release v1.0.2. It features a bunch of improvements mostly for desktop mode. Desktop mode should now be working properly for every web site. It's even better than on Chrome cause you can configure its scale from the settings, especially true on tablet or external monitor.
  14. I think people are just surprised to get it at all.
  15. This is probably one of the latest update from FxTec staff: Now if you read between the lines what @Erik really means is that they are completely overwhelmed with the workload. I'm trying to organise RMA for one of my Pro1 assuming I won't see it again for at least 6 weeks.
  16. The problem with refund ATM is that they first need to clarify if your phone has not been shipped or already assigned for shipping.
  17. I just sent the following email:
  18. Is that an option for them? Can they call it Android then? Does it have Google services?
  19. Everything it seems, I could not even find a way to create a simple app shortcut. The so called tutorials felt very intrusive and not helpful. It looked like one of those software that supposedly let you do everything but is just not for everyone. I guess I'm just showing my age here ;)
  20. Just tried it and it's way too complicated to setup for my taste.
  21. I found this: https://github.com/jasonkung0211/launcher3.git However the only common thing with FxTec launcher is that is was based on Google's AOSP, I believe.
  22. Sounds scary hopefully some people got more lucky than I was.
  23. I'll do one at time as the newest one seems to be usable when not charging. It figures, keep up the good work.
