  1. Drum roll.... Hi, DAVID. Your package from EXPANSYS (HONG KONG) LIMITED was delivered Mon 1/27/2020 at 4:36pm. Time to go outside and welcome the latest addition to the family.
  2. It is the same screen. At least one person has replaced their screen on their phone with an Elephone screen. Multiple people have used screen protectors made for those phones on the Pro1 too. I did forget to mention this to Zagg when I contacted them. I started an online chat with them and will ask them about the Elephone U/U Pro and the Pro1.
  3. That was my impression. I'm wondering if they will peel up more than the curved ones would. I'm also curious which ones are more impervious to sharp things. I could certainly sacrifice a chinese one for testing. I bought a bunch of them. I could test it with knives, keys, corners of things, etc. All when *off* the phone, mind you. :-) I guess I could do similar tests to the fxtec supplied protector. Although, there isn't any way to get any more of those, so I'd be out of luck if that one proved to be much more durable. But other people could benefit from the knowledge. If they bo
  4. Similar to what @elvissteinjr said, when my phone arrives (today sometime), I'll be doing the following. NOTE: I intend on using the stock android with it, not LineageOS or Sailfish at this point. Possibly LineageOS down the road. - Putting on a screen protector - Putting the SD card and non-activated SIM into it - Putting a Note 7 case on it (I have at least a couple to try) - Trying out my belt holster case - Booting it up and messing around with it a little bit (includes setting google play to not auto-install my apps) - Unlocking the bootloader - I
  5. Yay! Was that after adding the AT&T APN? (for signal) And for the car, did you get lucky on the first attempt, or did you have to clear out the car's bluetooth memory? Nice, red USB cable. :-)
  6. Since we don't have a real bug tracking tool yet, my suggestion would be to have on topic that is closed to everyone except fxtec. This is where they would post known bugs and the status of working on those and which releases may contain fixes, etc. Then have another topic for reporting bugs and discussing them, where anyone can post.
  7. I haven't tried it, but you can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sagrcasm.drawer
  8. I think it is days before that happens now, rather than minutes/hours. I don't know how many days though, but you are safe for a while.
  9. Anyone have any idea how those would compare with the ones from china that some of us have bought?
  10. At a minimum, having a deeper hierarchy would be preferable to the flat structure now. The groupings in the upper right don't count. This is about navigation.
  11. They were *huge* in the USA in the 2000s. It was a status symbol thing (kind of like the iPhones are today), with a lot of celebrities using them and an entire ad campaign around that very fact. It was only available through T-Mobile, except near the end, so only in the USA. The Nokias came around toward the end of the Sidekick reign, and I believe most people in the USA jumped over to android keyboard phones from the Sidekicks, whereas the Nokias may have gotten a stronger foothold in europe. The OS for the Sidekicks formed the basis for android. "The company was originally started b
  12. I'll probably wait for your neoprene experiment and go that route if it works well for you.
  13. All the Sidekick phones. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danger_Hiptop
  14. It even sort of matches the color scheme on the full sized keyboard. :-)
  15. Yeah, I was wondering about the proper thickness too. Any idea how thick your felt is? That neoprene looks like a nice way to do it.
  16. Is there any reason not to try using rubber instead of felt, that you can think of?
  17. Just out of curiosity, which file format did Jolla end up using?
  18. Yes, the 835 chipset supports 2x2 MU-MIMO. Hopefully all antennas have been supplied by fxtec to support that.
  19. Originally scheduled for 1/29/2020 delivery, but has been half an hour from me since Saturday, and was now updated: Hi, DAVID. Your package from EXPANSYS (HONG KONG) LIMITED is scheduled for delivery today. SCHEDULED DELIVERY Mon 1/27/2020 by 8:00pm OUT FOR DELIVERY ROSEVILLE, MN Shortly...
  20. I got my SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I U3 A2 V30 128GB in the mail today. I tested it to make sure it wasn't a counterfeit. I was a little worried for a while, because I wasn't getting the speeds (tested with a laptop and desktop) that it was rated at. I knew I wouldn't get over 100 MBps in a phone (which I don't have yet), because the bus is limited to 100 Mbps. But in a PC, I thought I'd get about 170 MB/s read and 95 MB/s write. As it turns out, you have to use SanDisk's own USB 3 card reader to get those speeds. I have very nice Lexar USB 3.0 card readers, but there is something
  21. I would think you would get an error if you didn't do this, but did you unlock the bootloader first?
  22. My Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G (circa 2012) does it a little bit on the side that the keyboard slides out from. It does it a tiny bit on the other (right, when in portrait) side too. However, even the left side isn't as much as it seems your Pro1 is doing it and my gap doesn't seem as wide. It is a straight slider too. I don't think I ever noticed it until I tested for it now. One easy way to tell the difference between a tight fit and a loose fit is to pinch the phone with one hand, with the thumb holding it in the middle and then tap with a finger from the other hand near the thumb.
