I didn't know that there is shortcut to change layout of physical keyboard. Select keyboard layout Access the next physical keyboard layout if you have more than one enabled. Ctrl + Space That is really handy since you could make separate layout for special characters for example. Also, it is possible to remap some key to Search (🔍)? I tried Search with Keyboard with Keyboard/Button Mapper but it is only a shortcut to Google search.

Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes
FlyingAntero replied to VaZso's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
You can check with CellMapper to which network you are currently connected. Also, I found little bit similar case from xda with Xperia M5 phone. In that case the root cause was probably a faulty battery. Perhaps some band causes peak to the power consumption when connection is weak or network changes which leads to a reboot? - https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m5/help/xperia-m5-auto-shutdown-fix-temporary-t3356247 I need to drive 70km away from my home tomorrow so I am planning to put phone to wcdma only and check what happens. -
Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes
FlyingAntero replied to VaZso's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I had already forgot this message. I haven't changed any network settings so I believe that when I am using 3G either B1 (2100Mhz) or B8 (900Mhz) is selected. Those are bands that are used in Finland. B1 is usually used in cities and B8 outside cities. B8 might be the reason for reboots since I have faced reboots only when I travel between cities. There is a high change that B8 is used on those situations. If I am at home where 4G or 3G (possibly B1) is used I have no issues. -
Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes

This is very interesting! Are you able to reproduce the issue? If you can then maybe Pro1 is rebooting in specific situation when there is no network or the network is changing. Reboots seems to happen during traveling. It is common that there are areas without network when you are driving between cities. Similar thing might happen when you put phone to metal locker which blocks network (like a Faraday cage). -
I have VoLTE disabled since my carrier (DNA, Finland) has not enabled VoLTE for Pro1. VoLTE is working on my current SIM with Xperia XZ1 Compact. PS. Maybe we should move to another thread to discuss about this.

Did you mean that Night Sight is slow? The whole idea behind it is to take sevaral shots and combine them to one picture. There are some algorithms that can produce geat pictures in low light. It is the "magic" behind Gcam.

Key Mapper: FOSS app to bind keys & buttons to other keys or actions
FlyingAntero replied to Craig's topic in Support
I made a quick video of the shortcuts to bring up virtual keyboard or floating notepad. If we can make keyboards with different layouts as default then it would very usable. You could just bring up a virtual keyboard for special needs. For example in the situations when you are looking for specific character that you can't find from the physical keyboard. -

It is also possible to bring up a floating note but I haven't been able to select specific note. I can only bring up an empty note (new, not previously saved). I used this app for floating note. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ashk.minifloatingnotes.lite -
Key Mapper: FOSS app to bind keys & buttons to other keys or actions
FlyingAntero replied to Craig's topic in Support
I can toggle between different keyboards but only Hacker's Keyboard has a build in option to enable virtual keyboard while physical keyboard is open. So when I toggle to Gboard it will not appear. Another option is to use Keyboard Switcher which will bring up pop up to select keyboard when I press shortcut combo. There is also an option to show every virtual keyboard while physical keyboard is open. -

I noticed that you are able to change virtual keyboard without root with Keyboard Switch Assistant. What makes it even greater is that you are able to make shortcut (for example ctrl + K) for the keyboard switch with Keyboard/Button Mapper and Nova actions. So I installed Hacker's Keyboard and enabled "Show soft keyboard: Always" from its settings. Normally I use Gboard so I don't see virtual keyboard when physical keyboard is opened. However, now I can bring up or hide Hacker's Keyboard with the shorcut (ctrl + K) when the physical keyboard is open. Hacker's Keyboard supports language pa -
I think that I am not able to locate the place very precisely. I was driving 150km away and noticed that phone had rebooted during the trip. It only happened one way (not in both directions) and I am using one SIM.

I got my 3rd reboot last weekend when I was travelling. So far I haven't faced any reboots where I live (home, work, gym etc). Any ideas how I could track it down next time I am travelling?

Certain keys not working initially? [fixed bug in old ROM]
FlyingAntero replied to cerialphreak's topic in Support
I think that it cannot be SYM since if I press SYM first then I am able to get respond from others non working keys (7 for example). Maybe it is one of the space bar switches? I don't know if am able to hit only one of them so I cannot test it. I tested every other keys earlier and they are working. -
SD cards not being recognised

Not sure how I should test but I ran couple test in Androbench 5. So, I am not able to reach 100MB/s. -
SD cards not being recognised
FlyingAntero replied to TheOnlyRick's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I have Samsung EVO microSDXC 128Gb (UHS-I, up to 100 MB/s) card and Pro1 is able to recognize it. The phone just wanted to reformat the card before I was able to use it as an external drive. -
You can adjusting screen for landscape from Accessibility > Display settings. I am using Display size as Small and Font size as Large so I don't have this issue. Standart scroll bar control is not usable so it is an issue but many apps like Nova have wider scroll bar. That can be reached even with 40 but 30 is better for every day use.
-
There are 9 stickers on back of the screen (2 in the corners that touch keyboard part) and at least 2 stickers on the keyboard part. There might also be 3rd in the middle but it is hard to see. Thanks, I can pay something for the effort but we can also wait if EskeRahn gets a respond from the seller. I am not in hurry.
-
I can access scroll bars with 30 quite well. I just need to touch screen where the curve starts. It is not ideal of course but better than nothing in my opinion. There is also app called "No more accidentally touching" which allow you to have different settings on left and right. Then you are able to have 30 on right and 40 on left for example.
-
You can always adjust the settings like you said and find optimal adjustments for disabling the edges. Also, there is an experimental "Detect Edge Swipes" which allows you to still use edges for swipes. To me it is working pretty well. Of course, security aspect is one thing to keep in mind. Best option would be a new feature by F(x)tec. PS. I think that we should have sticky thread for the tips so that people can find these. Some examples... Software: Keyboard layout: FinQwerty and Fx Qwerty Disabling Edges: Edge Null Keyboard shorcuts: Keyboard/Button Mapper

Did you perform just a factory reset or did you flash firmware again via ADB?
-
Is there anyone in UK who would like to order directly from the original seller and forward few stickers to the community members (in Europe for example)? I can also use the forwarding service to Finland but I would rather pay for a community member. Also, I don't need 1600 stickers. I calculated that there are 11 or 12 stickers in Pro1 so 50-100 should be just fine for several repairs.

After a solid month, I give up. I need to vent.
FlyingAntero replied to fxyo1's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
In addition to that, DragonBox has a nice "Hints and fixes" page for Pro1. https://www.dragonbox.de/index.php?fc=module&module=ybc_blog&controller=blog&id_lang=1&id_post=9 I am using Edge Null with "Detect Edge Swipes" activated. I would add Google Camera to the list also (either BSG or PocoPhone F1 port). @fxyo1 If you want to sell the broken unit I would like to have it for spare parts. -

In my QWERTZ unit "7", "U", "J", "N", ".", "UP" and "Enter" (total of 7 buttons) are not working right after waking up the screen. Those buttons will work after I press some other button first. I can reproduce the issue every time I wake up the screen. I don't need to reboot device. All I need to do is lock and unlock to see the issue. -
I have this same effect on my unit. It has been there since I got the device last month. During first day, I installed all updates (including January) but issue is still there. Maybe I should try to flash factory firmware and check if reflashing does something.

I am using Gcam 6.2 port for PocoPhone F1. Image quality is great but viewfinder is upside down in Night Sight mode and the viewfinder can freeze some times in low light situations. However, you are able to take pics just fine. - https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/themes/port-modded-google-camera-hdr-night-t3910336 BSG port is another option since viewfinder is not upside down in Night Sight mode. However, it has some issues with noise level. BSG port PocoPhone port
