Since the Pro1 battery connector is the same with Xiaomi Mi 6, I think that the connector is Panasonic B01 Series (AXF361500 / AXF461500). More information about the connector can be seen below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZPV0jawpW0 Could it be possible just to solder that connector to RK61 wireless keyboard batteries? That battery is still available from Aliexpress etc. (example). It has the correct cell and board included but I don't know if the board gives correct values for Pro1. If that is possible, then maybe it easier to solder just the connector than swap the whole boar

Pro¹ X – state of production and delivery

I had similar issues in the beginning. I tried to hold Pro1 tightly "inside my palms" like I used to do with smaller Droid4. However, it does not work with Pro1 that well. Then I "dropped" the phone lower so that I was holding it more with fingers instead of inside palms. It is hard to describe but after changing the grip it is more easier to type with thumbs. -
Sorry, I didn't notice that you are rooted. Then you can just make your own kcm file and push it to system. By default in stock Android, the Generic.kcm is always US English keyboard (source). So if Pro1(-X) QWERTY owner starts to use the phone, the keyboard language needs to be unselected if user wants that the layout is as printed. However, if you are Pro1(-X) QWERTZ user, then you need to select German as a layout. Otherwise the layout does not match with the prints. I don't know how AZERTY is set up so I don't know what keyboard language you must select. But the kcm file that you are looki

You cannot modify kcm files without root. However, apps can access the files on stock without root and even bring new ones. For example, users here have used FinQwerty for both Pro1 and Pro1-X. You can also develop an app by yourself if you have skills. The link below includes some info. Unfortunately, the app builder ExKeyMo website does not work anymore. https://xdaforums.com/t/tutorial-external-keyboard-remapping-without-root-4-1.4492481/ Just rebember that those apps do not work on Lineage OS since there is different driver for the keyboard. See more from here.

If you want to use stock Android then maybe you could update to beta firmware? That fingerprint issue is fixed on 2.1.5 version according to user report and probably on later versions also. I have not personally tested beta firmware though. (The issue is also fixed on Lineage OS nowadays). https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1ZkyDj_dCBK6W4AMysZpe0w6WfY5XFaFq Regarding remapping the F5, have you tried Key Mapper? It worked with Pro1 on other purposes without messing up keyboard layout. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.github.sds100.keymapper

Does Lineage OS work better than the default Android OS?
FlyingAntero replied to Aeong's topic in General Discussion
I have Pro1 so I don't have experience of Pro1-X. But I know that devs have fixed many issues on LOS. For example, the fingerprint bug that you have faced on stock is fixed on LOS (also in stock beta firmware). https://xdaforums.com/t/official-lineageos-20-for-pro1-x.4543997/page-7#post-88614419 Pro1 has (or had) an issue where phone rebooted for unknown reason. People were guessing that the reason was related to specific network band or WiFI connection. I faced that issues about 5 to 6 times during one year so it was not that common. People reported that issue was fixed in LOS. I do -
adb fastboot flashing lock < waiting for any device > Does not function !
FlyingAntero replied to Dave.037's topic in Support
Getting the drivers working is always pain in the ass. Once that is resolved everything else is easier. Great that you were able get it working! Here is a video of the installation of fastboot drivers. It is for Xperia XA2 when I flashed Sailfish X to it but same idea works for other devices on Windows 10. Unfortunately, it is in Finnish but maybe someone can find it helpful. -
Here are couple teardown guides fro Pro1 but might be useful for Pro1-X also. pro1disassembly.pdf (official service manual) https://github.com/imax9000/fxtec-pro1-teardown (made by user) https://fccid.io/2AUCLQX1000/Internal-Photos/internal-Photos-4458278 (prototype unit) Also, the vimeo account of F(x)tec has some useful videos: https://vimeo.com/user124749107 Lastly, here are couple photos taken by me when I changed the usb board (Pro1).

Most likely you are missing fastboot drivers. When you are in fastboot mode what does it say when you type "fastboot devices"? Is the phone recognized like in ADB mode? -

FlyingAntero replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Secondary camera on Pro1 is a depth sensor. You cannot take photos with it since it is intented only to collect data for processing photos. However, depth sensors in smartphones have never been that useful. -
That confirms they never had working prototype. If they are going to have the first kick off meeting with the manufacturer during this month then the project has barely even started. Current schedule sounds very optimistic. The upgrade from Helio G88 to Helio G99 is very nice since Helio G99 is produced using TSMC 6nm process instead of 12nm (used in G88). The difference in power consumption is night and day. I have Qin 3 Ultra and KingKing Mini 3 phones and I can confirm the claim of better battery life. Qin 3 Ultra has better battery life even that the battery is smaller. It is still we

FlyingAntero replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I think you are right. If they only produced those 200 pcs listed in eBay then I understand why they did not deliver them since many people here did not even need/want those earphones (including me). However, if there is more units then it is little bit strange. Why not to deliver if they had produced them already? To my understanding the whole point of forgetting earphones was to cut costs. -
Accented character selector broken in recent apps
FlyingAntero replied to claude0001's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I know that. But I was just wondering if there is a mod version where you could add kcm files by yourself to the app. But it might not be technically even possible. -

Btw, how did you modified FinQwerty app? Is there possibilty to add own kcm files? -

Accented character selector broken in recent apps
FlyingAntero replied to claude0001's topic in General Discussion
There might be work around! What if you install different virtual keyboards and select different layout for each one to the physical keyboad settings? Then use Keyboard Switcher and Key Mapper to bring up the pop up for the virtual keyboard selector. I tested it to be working with my self made qwerty phone (bluetooth keyboard). Edit: You can use the same key combo to bring up the keyboard selector. Biggest downside is that you need to change back the prefered virtual keyboard manually if needed for portrait use. -

I don't really know, but I would assume that normal orders are included in that 3/4. -
Pro¹ X – state of production and delivery
FlyingAntero replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Yeah, I was also surprised. I am wondering if the 3/4 is the total shipments so far when this batch is delivered? Or does 3/4 mean directly this batch? Then the total shipments would be even more since some devices were delivered earlier. In the big picture it does not matter but would be interesting to know. -
Now that Fxtec is dead, let's do an autopsy
FlyingAntero replied to lg05lg's topic in General Discussion
Not dead after all? New blog post just posted. "We are excited to inform you that we expect to restart shipping before the 28th of June, pending your completion of the form. This will cover approximately 3/4 of all our backers. We will continue our efforts to reach out to the remaining backers shortly thereafter." -
Have you tried to put Pro1 into a charger for several hours even so nothing happens when you connect the cable? Atleast you can try since there is nothing to lose.

I did not need to glue it since the keyboard and rail is keeping it on place very good. Like I said, it was tight fit. Probably I will leave to bottom camera hole open since it quite easy way to access the keyboard's power switch if needed. Also you can use flashlight in closed position. But maybe I will use somekind of mass to fill the gaps later on. I just don't know what is suitable material. There is indeed a possibility leave automation out and toggle virtual keyboard on if needed. I just wanted to have virtual keyboard on automatically since some times I might even use it (portra

I received the USB adapter so my QWERTY phone is pretty much ready. It was quite a tight fit to add the adapter so I had to shave it little bit. You can find picture attached. Regarding software, I made an automation with MacroDroid that changes the virtual keyboard based on orientation. For landscape I am using NoKeyboard app so there is no virtual keyboard at all and Gboard for portrait. It is working very well. You just need to perform easy ADB hack to allow WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS. And the funniest thing is that I ended up using FinQwerty app for the keyboard layout. After te

It seems that you can buy replacement screen with the frame from AliExpress. - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005062900944.html Just note that it does not include the front camera module and the board for the connector. So it is missing the piece that is going to be taken apart with tweezers in the picture below.

Hopefully these spare parts are enough if I need to make some repairs to my Pro1. I have already changed the usb board once so the current spare board is actually only partially working unit (it charges but without fast charge and HDMI out put does not work). Usb board, battery and stickers are from F(x)tec and screen panel from AliExpress (Elephone U Pro). SIM card tray is taken from broken Pro1...

I have been trying to develop tilting mechanism to my prototype case. The idea is to put a wedge inside the rail for tilting. However, I have still not managed to make it strong enough. Maybe I can figure out how to build a support for the phone so that it will stay stable. Still needs some tinkering...
