  1. Hi, I have finally figured out how to do it. However, just keep in mind I am running /e/ OS which is an OS built on top of lineage so theoretically the setup proceedures may be identical. Below are the steps that I`ve taken: -enable developer mode -in dev options enable the "force activities to be resizable" -install app rotation control -enable app and set to landscape mode -turn on screen rotation in display settings and enable rotation to only 90 degrees [if you do not have (system) screen rotation activated even though "rotation control" app is forcing it
  2. There are a number of launchers that support landscape mode, and personally I like the very simple one they made for the Pro1 (not pro1X) the best, as I like the (IMHO) ingenious idea of splitting the roughly 2:1 desktop in halves and rotate them individually, that is left<->top and right<->bottom with minimal stretch or compression of the icons. The flip-side of the split approach is that you can not have a widget spanning that centre line, and if you got a large widget, that could make it useless. A few launchers offers completely independent layouts for landscape and por
  3. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone here is using a particular launcher on Android to utilise a landscape mode. Is it possible and if so, what have you done to make this work? The problem I find is that some apps open only in portrait mode. Is there a way to force apps to open in landscape mode?
  4. On the Pro1X i've seen the launcher freeze for maybe 2-3 seconds, but never with QuickStep on the Pro1. Note that "QuickStep" and the icon is used for more than one launcher!! The one that comes with the Pro1 is very simple BUT have the IMHO ingenious detail of grouping in two halves and rotating independently, making it VERY suitable for switching between landscape and portrait in modern more or less 2:1 phones. It is the ONLY launcher I've seen that does a good job at that at all!!! For others it either looks like sh... in one direction OR you have to manually handle what icons y
  5. It would be easy enough to grab another launcher to test Quickstep. I never used Quickstep. always immediately installing Nova Launcher. Are you running anything that is CPU intensive. I can see that achieving what you are experiencing if there is a sudden pull of CPU resources that essentially kills multitasking for 30-40 seconds. This probably would be less likely to show up on the Pro1 given the same apps running. I'm just trowing stuff on the wall. I'm no expert here.
  6. @EskeRahn, thanks for your reply. I saw this option and i would use Key Mapper (For example) to trigger (Left Ctrl + *) to switch Off/On the backlit when opened. No way for the moment. The only way i found (for now) is to set an Action via Nova Launcher to directly access in "Buttons" section. So i would like something more precise 😄 Edit: I will NOT ask to @Slion if something could be done. @FlyingAntero, thanks for your reply too. I will take a look more deeply in Key Mapper cause i don't really what are the possibilities with it.
  7. Labels are there in both landscape and portrait with the default QuickStep launcher on Pro1. But not so on the (different) QuickStep on the Pro1X.
  8. I have been trying to get the ChatGPT app to work on my rooted Pro1X. For a while now, it would show as unavailable in the Play Store (presumably because it is rooted, as per online sources). Today, I saw that it was finally available. However, after installing it, when I try to log in, I get an error "Something went wrong". It also mentions checking the date and time, etc. When trying to get this working, I somehow reset something (I was resetting Google play store and play services and various other settings that others online have done in order to get the app to work). Now, when I
  9. BUT i still have one big problem on los21. Screen rotate is sometime tooo slow and laggy. Rotating animation freeze on 75% of rotating process for approx 2-4 seconds 😞 It is not launcher problem - tested on original los launcher and then on lawnchair too
  10. First of all this build has full set of Google apps and services already included and google pay is available out of the box. If you don't like Google you probably don't need this build. Additionally, for me it looks more stable than LOS20. I had to reboot LOS20 (Nolen's build too) time to time because of issues with launcher and fingerprint reader. Using this build for a week without reboots. Pin entry screen with keyboard open is fixed. Finally, Android 14 has some new features that I like, such as indication of running applications in system notifications.
  11. So my Pro1x came last week and I spent time going through and getting LOS flashed and installed and apps transferred/installed. I've run into an issue that I'm not sure if it's rom, hardware, or software. This setup basically mirrors what I'm running on my Oneplus 7Pro, so I know it is otherwise a functional setup. Randomly my Pro1x will close an app back to desktop in the middle of using it like it's crashed, but I don't get any kind of indication that it's crashed and reopening works fine. Also sometimes it'll just go to a black screen, flash my background, and then flash back to a
  12. I am using the Microsoft Launcher. Thanks for your help!
  13. I assume you are referring to when on the home screen, so I guess it is the launcher that would handle it, which one are you currently using. There are a truckload of launchers out there, See also https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2803-want-keyboard-shortcuts-with-nova-or-perhaps-any-non-stock-launcher
  14. My Pro1x has arrived and this forum has been a huge assistance. I very much appreciate the time and consideration that users have put into their very helpful posts. From my forum searches, and my own experience, both Button Mapper and Button Remapper, fine programs in their own right, are problematic on the Pro1x. Both rearrange the hkb keys (eg: no pipe, / = ?). Furthermore, Button Mapper adds a repeated letter in texts and documents when said letter is used to activate a program (eg: if long-pressed T activates a thesaurus, when simply typing T in a document, the T will double itself;
  15. Dirty flashed the Jan 02 release yesterday. So far everything is still working. I have a feeling that multi-touch isn't working properly in Mario Kart Tour, though I can properly pinch and zoom my photos in the gallery. Launcher is laggy from time to time - sometimes takes a few seconds to react to any input. Pebble users have to reinitialize the app to be able to pair their watch again - but that seems to be a general issue when upgrading to Android 13. Spend most of my time yesterday to get this working again. The SIM pin issue when using two SIMs seems to be fixed. When the screen
  16. To add some information: I have a original Pro1 (no X) with LineageOS 18.1 (didn't have time to update to 19 yet) and I have been using Nova Launcher on it for a long time now. A few days ago I experienced the issue you're describing for the first time. I suspect it could be related to the fact, that I recently I updated a bunch of apps via Playstore, including some Google Apps, that work quite deep in the system, e.g. Device Health Services, Google and Digital Wellbeing.
  17. I additionally tried with "launch" from F-Droid and Niagara Launcher from Play Store - and get asked every reboot.
  18. Have any of you having the issue tried another launcher than Nova? I'm experimenting with "Action Launcher", and I do NOT see the issue. Neither after a restart nor after a power down and up, nor a long power press. I DID notice that I get a 'black' launcher screen (notification and navigation icons only) for about 4s after a boot. I then tried power off and on and waiting a long time before entering password. And when entered it STILL took 4s until I got the 'desktop'. So 'something' strange is going on, that just MIGHT get Nova to time-out and crash. ADD: If you add the
  19. No, i didn't use backup at all and haven't used nova for a while so it was a clean fresh install for me. Though to me it appears only to happen after system boot. But also could be after deep sleep? Not sure if i tested that while having nova set as launcher. On stock launcher and nova just installed it only asks on reboot.
  20. Spoken too soon! Had to choose my launcher again right now ...
  21. I seems this isn't even a Pro1X thing, it's an Android 11 thing that happened on other phones, too, after 11 came out. I'm carefully optimistic that (one of) the fixes mentioned here might work; at least I haven't been asked which launcher I want for the whole day now: "If you set the [stock] launcher as default, then go in and make your preferred launcher default, it seems to fix it." "Go to app settings for Nova Launcher and check the permissions it has. Give it permission to modify system settings." I didn't test between the two, so I don't know which of them actually
  22. With the original Pro1 and LOS 18.1, I mostly did use 'Manual Camera' because I like its interface and it also can produce raw (DNG) files (not with the Pro1X, though), in theory giving me more options for post processing including best-of-breed noise reduction. For the Pro1X, I've now found 'ProShot', which not only can output DNGs, but also has an intelligent image optimisation, which, for example, sharpens the (generally weaker) corners more than the centre, producing visibly better default results than I've seen from other apps until now. Unfortunately it has no HDR options and therefore i
  23. Yeah, I´ve read somewhere that the default launcher includes some basic functionality other launchers rely upon, too... so disabling is not recommended... 😕
  24. What worked for me was do "freeze" the Quickstep launcher using Titanium Backup. What should work without root: adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.launcher3 https://www.xda-developers.com/disable-system-app-bloatware-android/ But this breaks some homescreen gestures e.g. swipe up for app overview ...
  25. I'm now going to try the recommendations from here: https://piunikaweb.com/2020/11/05/android-11-default-launcher-setting-gets-reset-for-multiple-users/ Didn't work 😞
