  2. Got the parcel today. Delivery guy confirmed that the package was missing the company name on the shipping label yesterday. I checked my emails and the email from FxTec clearly showed the company name. To anyone that is using a company address as delivery address: Contact FxTec to make sure they really include the company name on the shipping label. On the old shipping label, instead of the company name, it had my name a second time. And the 'Straße' part read 'Straaye'.

  3. I have experienced those as well... , when we designed the internal I made USB board separately from main board. It's on a mini PCB so replacing it would be cheap as you don't need to change CPU, memory etc...

  6. ... Found another app, where the sensors can be tried one by one, There are 50, it is the one called "Motion Accel" Shortly after displaying, it restarts the device. (I have tried a few times, but not enough time for a screen shot) ADD: Note that there are more than one app called "Device info" (Also "MultiShake" at the bottom of the list do the same, if you do not exit within about one second) ADD: This bug was originally seen with CPU-Z, a lot on this have been moved over here

  7. Figured I'd add my own unboxing pictures to this thread, happy for a mod to separate but I've only added unboxing pictures that are a bit different to the above. A few notes/thoughts: (1) Anyone know if it's possible to get snap-in AU power prongs? (2) The F(x) logo on the power adaptor is cool. (3) I couldn't find my LG GW620, or my Sony Ericsson C903 (which was technically a slider, though not quite keyboard). There's still one unused Droid 4, which may now never be used. (6) Those small cutouts are trivial when you see them in person, not worth worrying about at al

  10. You'd only have to pay customs if the delivery is delayed for 13 more months, and maybe not even in that case. It's a condition of the Withdrawal Agreement that Brexit (if it goes ahead) will initially consist of a 'transition period' lasting until at least the end of December 2020, and that during the 'transition period' the UK will effectively still be in the EU's Customs Union = no customs charges or VAT. After 13 months, who knows?

For those that know what they are doing on Android the key mapping should be straight forward https://source.android.com/devices/input/key-layout-files https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/KeyEvent https://source.android.com/devices/input/key-character-map-files We already got FinQWERTY handling the nordic layout for both the shifted QWERTY and the unshifted QWERTZ, see http://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/pro1.html I have been in contact with the guy behind FinQWERTY Anssi Hannula, to find out if there was an easy way to upload these in a clean way on a no

  14. Yes I copied the boot.img from the factory restore thread to my SD card, then did the "Patch file" install from Magisk Manager. It created magisk_patched.img. I copied that back to the pc, and ran "fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img". There was no need for TWRP to be installed. It is a shame because I would have liked an unrooted and rooted stock backup for easy restore.

  15. @mcdinner may have just found the reason we are not having any luck, and it's my fault xD. (edit: we were chatting about it in discord, feel free to join us https://discordapp.com/invite/k4NtAGy ) https://forum.xda-developers.com/pro1/development/custom-roms-lineage-t3981821 Specifically the lines "A working TWRP exists, but keep in mind system-as-root limitations." and "System-as-root means that /system is mounted as /, but it also means that recovery is a part of boot image, so flashing it as the whole boot partition won't let you boot the system. There'll be a need for TWRP installer sc

  16. After 13 months we're very likely at a stage where the phones are sold from stock and also have other retailers available. For example, the DragonBox Shop, based in Germany, is already taking additional pre-orders. That would be one option for EU customers to avoid importing if Brexit happens. Nothing to really worry about at this stage indeed.

  17. So I'm essentially stuck now. I reflashed everything to factory (the long list of commands), then I did the first boot. I didn't complete setup. I rebooted to check it did a clean boot and got the initial setup again. Next, I flashed TWRP and rebooted. It immediately asked me for a password to continue. "To start Android, enter your password". What? I did some looking around and other people got this after flashing TWRP and listed some default passwords. "password" and "default_password", neither worked. Someone said to run the command "fastboot format userdata" which I did, and it results

  18. So i gave this a try, and it doesn't seem to work. Here's what happened. I flashed TWRP, this worked fine I then flashed Magisk zip file which worked too Upon booting up I am asked for my pin, but my pin is WRONG every time. I know I am putting the right one, it worked when I turned it on! I go back to TWRP and think ok I will do a factory reset, this fails, and I think it wiped the OS too because I'm stuck on an endless boot I am going to follow the post for returning to factory, then I will do something different: I won't set any pin or fingerprint and see what ha

  21. Well with some extra thickness to get a better protection, we are talking a case/shell, not just a film. I don't think that we can get more than scratch-protection from a film.

  23. You can disable lock screen and use the phone without pin or pattern code. Then you are able to "unlock" with just pressing the power button. If you want to use lock screen you should be able to unlock with fingerprint sensor only. No need to press buttons. Some Android phones have double tap to unlock feature but it seems that it is missing from Pro1? Maybe it can be implemented with custom kernel? Edit: This feature is also supported on Pro1 🙂 If you can do little bit coding maybe it is possible to compile Android port. It used to work couple years ago. https://www.

  24. There is a "tap to wake" setting, under Display, that is Off by default. It works fine if you turn it on here.... 😉 How you set it to wake the camera I do not know.

  26. Well I would not say that I recommended it, That was the cheap one I tried as a proof of concept... I guess about any shell or case for the Note 7 would do just as fine. And the modifications needed really are minor not "heavily" 1) Open up near the Fingerprint 2) Extend existing holes for the 3.5,mm and USB plugs 3) Make a cut in the back for the camera/blitz (and secondary microphone) 4) For the flipcase I cut away the credit card part, to reduce the thickness. Note that some flip cases MIGHT have saved on the material under this - I felt with a finger first before cutting, a

  29. Now that the phone started to reach the first pre-order clients, I think it's ok to necro-bump this thread. What are the current case options? Is there any work happening in this area? It would be a crying shame to get this great phone and damage it during the frist week of use because of lack of decent protection options. Myself, I'm a fan of premium leather flip-cases, but they all have a design flaw. Whenever they try to accomodate space for credit-card sized items, these tend to scratch the screen on prolonged use. Something that would be easily fixed by leaving the surface that touch

  30. On my device, OpenSL ES (Android’s low-level sound API) seems to have issues. I’ve tried using SunVox (paid app, sorry, but it’s worth it if you’re interested in making music) and get all sorts of pops and crackling, even when disabling visualizations (logo on the top left, Preferences, Modules, disable “Show oscilloscope” and “Show level meter”) or increasing sample buffer (in Preferences, Audio, set Buffer to a high value). Sounds to me as if the audio samples don’t get to the DAC fast enough or there’s too little buffer somewhere else down the line. Caustic (free demo) works when using the

  35. Hi everyone, A small informal update for you. As you should be aware by now, my updates do not represent what PR might have to say, but I'll give you the latest and best to my knowledge. As per the last time you received a director's update, there's nothing significantly new - our team is still working really hard to meet our own deadlines to fulfil all pre-orders and launch before the festive season. While stock rotations between warehouses (factory > Hong Kong hub > US & UK/EU) took slightly longer than initially predicted, due to the customs and weekends off, the first b

  38. Any of these steps is under the condition you didn't already do it of course, but here hopefully complete instructions if i didn't forget something: On the phone: - Turn on developer options - Go to "Settings -> Developer Options" and enable USB debugging - [edit] Now when you connect the phone to the pc it will ask if the PC is allowed to debug the device, tell it yes. On the PC - Install ADB (on windows you may need some driver also, do not know how) - Now you should be able to get a command line where you can run adb commands, to check if the phone is connected and

  39. I also would like closing the slider to turning off the screen (like power button). But please as an option, as not all might like that. Then we can select the lock-delay under Security, The cogwheel next to Screen Lock, Automatic lock, e.g. 5 sec, that should be more than enough to press the power button, double tap or reopen, before the password protection kicks in.

  44. [Behind the scene story] We did designed a hard case for the bottom part of the phone (keyboard part) and we paid for the moulding and we adjusted the moulding for quite a few times. There were 2 major issues which leaded to cancellation / production-held of the case: 1. The case enlarges the gap of the two parts. We worked hard on engineering of the product to minimise the gap in the middle and we achieved some great result. However with a case holding on the back and have certain bits goes to the middle, if it's firmly installed, it will increase the middle part and "separate
