No this update was mostly just keyboard. I'll be working on audio next.2 points

Just write an email to support. They will probably offer to send you a screen replacement. At least they offered that to people in telegram.2 points

There is a nice app, that now supports the Pro1 keyboard. FinQwerty improving the functionality. I have used test-versions of it for months for both QWERTY and QWERTZ, and it works just great! See the current layouts here http://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/#pro1, here a few examples It is (currently) especially great for those that wants to use the physical QWERTZ for standard US or for Scandinavian languages on either QWERTZ or QWERTY UPDATE: The authour @Anssi Hannula has added more layouts, including Czech, US-International, and improved version of1 point

You don't :S community builds don't support android features.1 point

No. Most sites will tell you that because these IMEIs are not in their data bases. There's a whole process F(X)Tec would have to go through to make that happen. It doesn't mean the phone can't operate on their network, You can try putting in the SIM. It may just work , or you may need to talk to customer service. I believe people have been successful with T-Mobile itself. Check the first post in this thread and then read through the thread for details.1 point

So yesterday after communication over the support system, Fxtec agreed to send me another unit straight from the UK as soon as possible (well, Monday is the earliest they can check if they have one to do so). Okay, nice. But... After 23 days, the tracking status suddenly changed. Talking to FedEx and Fxtec it seemed rather grim. What happened? If this is just the shipment going back, then it is a very confusing status. The FedEx support agent who was supposed to keep me updated asap and called me a few times when nothing happened did not notify me yet... probably since they're off1 point

You are my hero, @EskeRahn. I don't knoe what's wrong with it, but my display kept going to landscape. I turned auto-rotation off, but it still did. Turning off auto-landscape in Slider did the trick. Now whenever I type using the physical keyboard, I just rotate it manually (which is fine by me).1 point

I am confident that we will get our smartphones at least one month before 3g and LTE networks are switched off and the 5G standard is outdated. Not everyone has the chance to unpack a freshly produced museum requisite.1 point

NO it was not, you remember wrong, sorry... That is a MUCH OLDER screen dump, as can clearly be seen by the "Shipping globally is estimated to be July 2019" that was changed around mid June. I do not remember the exact day, but on June 17 it had been changed to "Summer 2019", see e.g. this. So you dump is older than that... We got a newsletter on July 2 saying "We anticipate that payment will be requested at the end of July, ahead of an expected shipment date in early September." Unfotunately the WayBackMachine has no points between April and August of this page. But your dump matche1 point

It's a shame that he also received a phone with many software bugs but I guess it's fair since we do as well. I just hope they (FxTec) can start production soon, otherwise many potential new buyers will disappear soon. By the way, I had a reminder in my phone that told me every three months to check if there were new keyboard phones. If I hadn't, I would have received the information from Linus first. So there is definitely a wider consumer group out there.1 point

Its a known issue 😞some apps get this problem. See here for more info there is also a solution to it but read thead first1 point

Would be very very nice if the first post stayed updated. This thread is hard to keep up with, just too much information.1 point

Thanks for all the info, good to know about a potential thing to work on the Relay for SSL issues if I need to do so. Though that phone is showing its age in other ways as well and really does need replaced. That does not exactly enthuse me to go try XPrivacyLua. Really I don't want to spend forever making this phone work, I don't tend to use a phone that much, just useful to have a reasonable setup for replying to emails and logging into servers in a pinch if I need to do so.1 point

I got it from a store out in the mall, the brand is XIEKE for the iPhone 11 pro, the downside of the case is the texture, it makes my hand sweaty.1 point

The iphoe 11 pro has 144 mm height, the elasticity of the case makes up for 1mm. It holds the phone very well.1 point

So in mid June they say they will extend it for a week, and you buy mid July... The order page was changed at the latest June 19. as a comment that day quoted what it said. But sure it was not clear at what exact day the extended offer ended.1 point

Generally someone does so pretty quickly (usually @EskeRahn, hero that he is.) You're the type of person who would ask the same question of the treasure fleet bringing you wealth untold because it took longer than planned. SMH1 point

Some are reporting aptX working, even in HD variant. see this. But several reports issues, so it works to some extent, but not perfect.1 point

I don't recall seeing the aptX files on stock. Which leads me to believe that FxTec did not license aptX.1 point

...For those that want a short-cut, it is available as an activity also, that can be launched by some launchers directly, or by tools creating a short-cut for 'any' launcher.1 point

Those that have not yet received the ordered phones should have a mail like this on the Coronavrus-situation.1 point

And they did end it abruptly on June 18 (or short before), but then extended it, so the pre-order page said And that was mentioned in the forum too. I do not recall when they actually ended the limited offer, but I think it was late July. ...But if you browse back in this thread, you will find this has been discussed before.1 point

I had typed a reply in the different thread, but that reply got deleted so I'll try to recreate it. Recommended app for backups still seems to be Titanium Backup, but that's closed source. You can get it from the play store with Aurora Store, but I'd get why you wouldn't want it. Best open source alternative seems to be oandbackup. However this seems to maybe not backup some things like Wifi settings and texts. Performance might also be worse. I will be trying oandbackup some time this week (with Titanium Backup as a backup backup), I'll post my findings here then. If anybody el1 point

@tdm I took the liberty to renaming the thread, and merged in the new thread. Please let me know when there is a status change, or you want a different title, and and I will edit. Maybe it would also be nice if we kept your original post up to date with any new important info. Just PM me with what you want it to contain. 🙂1 point

I came from a Relay 4G (running Cyanogenmod 11 = KitKat) to the Pro1 as well. I just rooted my phone this weekend and switched over fully, activating a new sim in too, etc. I am thinking I did have to run something on there to deal with old SSL root certificate issues too, now that you mention it, but I don't remember the details of that. I'm not trying to dissuade you from using LineageOS, but just replying regarding the features you listed. - Root works with Magisk - Android 9 has app level permissions built in, so it functions like privacy guard in that way. If you want to1 point

I would check the trebuchet (launcher) settings. That would be upstream lineage (not a pro¹ thing) so if nothing there, one option is Nova launcher, it has option to enable icon for app drawer. (Not currently running los or I'd try it for you.)1 point
-
Yes there will be an official lineage build. But first all the major issues must be resolved. And as you have found, there are a few. I think everything you mentioned is a known issue. Look on my lineage page for the git repos and issue tracker link. I'm working through the issues as I can. I do this in my "spare" time and I'm not paid except for having been given a device for development. As you may have noticed, I'm working on quite a lot more than just lineage. I've released a factory restore tool that has saved at least a dozen sailfish victims from bricking their d1 point

I totally agree on that. I think at this point I am going to wait for @EskeRahn to have a EUREKA! moment and then just buy whatever he recommends. My goal is to wait until I find something that needs zero mods and just go with the cheapest option until then.1 point

I've been working on an app to restore the backlight functionality on LineageOS builds (It will NOT work on stock). It's called KB Backlight Manager. It runs as a foreground service to monitor the system for the slider events and turns the backlight on or off depending on it's state. It also includes a QuickSettings tile so you can easily turn it on or off from there and an option to disable the backlight completely as well as an option to enable/disable the QuickSetting tile. You can get the latest builds over on the Github page for it here: https://github.com/JooJooBee666/KB_Backlight1 point

right, but when using finqwerty-us-intl, apostrophe becomes a dead key. So if I use apostrophe normally as in English for contractions or possession, i would have to type an extra space, which I'm not used to and don't want to learn as I don't need dead keys in normal usage.1 point

I feel that having a one-stop shop for network compatibility information will be valuable. Please post as you attempt to use the Pro1 with the various networks, and the experience you have. I will maintain the top post as a list. For example, Verizon, couldn't activate—T-Mobile, buggy, no LTE—AT&T, working perfectly. Anything you wish to add beyond that will help clarify my summary and help others get their Clack connected. The absence of a carrier from this list doesn't mean it does or doesn't work; it just means I've not seen anyone say so. Let's get compatibility documented for the non-1 point

I got these information from Liangchen at the Hands-on in Düsseldorf, so no link for that. There were more than 10.000 cycles, by a machine, which opened and closed the device with the same speed and force all the time, with the latest setup no parts failed. Chen said, since this test always uses the same speed and force for opening and closing, it's not representative enough. So they hired someone who opened and closed the pro1 several hours every day by hands, and wrote down how often he did it, to get a realistic assumption on the reliability. They thought it through, very convincing, I do1 point

Making a normal phone call, holding the phone to my ear, I hear no audio. If I turn on speakerphone, I hear audio just fine. If I plug in a headset into the jack, I hear audio just fine. All my ringtones and notifications also work fine and I have no problems playing multimedia. I hadn't actually run into this until just now because I usually use a headset for calls, so it's possible it's been this way since I first received the phone.0 points

Well a week in and all is going well, until yesterday when I discovered an issue with using the BBC Sounds app. for some reason downloaded or streaming material initially plays fine but then develops a crackle/static noise when using listening. It's the strangest issue because it is not constant I can be listening and anything from 30 seconds to 3 mins in it just develops this interference noise. I have reinstalled the app but with no change. could someone else please just try the app and see if they are experiencing any similar issues. Thanks0 points

i am not sure where to post this - but as it's related to production, and perhaps a new phone, i am going to post this here : unfortunately, my 2-weeks old Pro1 broke last night : the upper 6th (some 16%) of the screen turned suddenly insensitive to touch. i can't pull down that top menu nor the subsequent second menu bar. i removed the protective foil, warm-rebooted, cold-rebooted, cursed and so on, w/o any prevail. now, in landscape mode, things at the top (the long edge of the screen) work again - but at the physical screen top, the one close to the phone speaker and the front camer0 points
