  1. Okay got AEX working... please test and I'll toss up a thread later. http://ota.nwwn.com/roms/aex/9.0/pro1/aosp_pro1-ota-9-test1.zip EDIT: If you need a recovery to flash this with, my latest Lineage test recovery should work... http://files.nwwn.com/android/pro1/lineage-16.0-pro1-test22-boot.img

  7. You adapt with time. I struggled with it for a week or two. Now I can pop it with one hand (I might even be able to do it as I pull it from my pocket, but I consider that too risky to try πŸ˜„ ). It will become natural and second nature, trust me. If a klutz like me can...

  8. This is what I get. When I select "File Transfer" on the Pro1 it just shows up as external storage with both internal and SD card, each treated as an external drive. No drivers show up and never have. I'm on version 2004 currently, but this is the way it worked on 1909 and has been working this way since December, both stock and LOS. And, by the way, I currently connect through a hub. Makes no difference (I haven't always used the hub).

  9. Yes the strength of the wifi should be improved in the Fx tec Pro2. Whereas my galaxy note 8 can access the wifi network in the most remote room of my flat, the pro1 was regularly loosing the wifi signals in this room, (and I was experiencing a loot of spontaneous reboot of the phone). I have installed now an additional wifi access point in the flat. Since I do not experience spontaneous reboot anymore. Will see.

  10. Finally. I deleted almost all USB drivers i found and got it working 15 minutes ago. Now i don't see Google Nexus ADB driver anymore. It must been that....

  11. So I tried looking for Netflix and Disney and indeed, they don't show up in the Play Store. Well, I can't be bothered by that. On the connection type, I also noticed the ADB-driver. It seems the Google Nexus ADB driver is the culprit. I used a different Windows 10 machine. As soon as I install the ADB drivers mentioned on the LOS page, the phone disappears... So you want QX1000, uninstall ADB and delete the drivers.

  12. I'm creating this topic for people to discuss the WiFi signal strength of their Pro1 phones. This can be used to report on tests that have been done and any tips for improving the signal strength, hence the range of the device and the speed of data transfers at greater distances.

  13. This does not seem to work at all, says no signals are available even when connected - perhaps it is intended for older Android? Last updated over two years ago. Another one (open source) works, and displays at the least 5 and at the worst 15db worse results on a Pro1 placed at the same place as a Samsung S8-. So in 'mean' that is half the signal.

  14. There is definitely an issue with the driver windows picks had the issue on my machine as well. But I actually put it down to me having installed the Android SDK originally.

  15. This is a very small start-up and I think they use as much power as they can to push the waiting pre-orders out. I do not know the size of their support 'stack'.

  16. The point is that it is NOT sliding - I do not have a good word for the motion though. It flips up like a dolphin jumping the water. If you do an even horizontal push it will 'lock'. See this thread.

  17. Netflix doesn't even turn up as an app when I search it on Google Play. Probably because of SafetyNet? I'm still to try with a Netflix .apk smuggled from another phone. Haven't tried Disney+ as I'm not a subscriber. UPDATE: Definitely must be SafetyNet. With LOS my phone fails the test. Didn't test it with stock before flashing. Sorry about the giant picture. I can't seem to be able to resize pasted images!

  18. Thank you . I did break it myself - it fell off a table, and I am not very competent at replacing screens. I have tried the help desk with no luck. I live close to Baker Street so may just have to go there.

  20. Later today I expect two Pro1's to be delivered. After I have flashed those I will play around with drivers and settings. Even though I don't need the connection, I am curious to find out why it doesn't show. Which Windows build are you using @EskeRahn? As for SafetyNet, do you need this for let's say Netflix? Even in combination with a chromecast? That would be a problem for someone specific πŸ€ͺ. In that case one of those Pro1's is gonna run stock. My banking-app does not need it, nor does the Ziggo-Go-app which I use to watch tv-streams (Ziggo being my provider). Can someone elaborate on

  21. For stock: This was a bug in an early sneak-view version of the March update, has been fixed with later OTA.

  22. I can confirm the issue too. It also affects software navigation buttones (home, recents, back) when the lag hits. Feels like a process is "hogging" all resources for a few seconds, before it returns to normal. On another topic: * Has anyone have tried to disabling the lock screen? Pressing power/opening the keyboard results in background and status bar only. I need to lock and unlock again to get back to normal. Seems to happen after the "Display -- Sleep" timer has ended. Is this expected behavior or a bug? * I've read that SafetyNet currently fails for stock. I haven't tested t

  27. Tanks for your analyse, and I agree to a large extent. Though I do find the build in quickstep solution of two blocks of equal side next to each other or on top of each other quite ingenious for a simple launcher, and thus simple to use for anyone, the only drawback is that a widget must stay within one of these blocks. And that is not a bad price for most. But obviously independent layouts are more flexible (including allowing for larger widgets) - at the price of more complex setup. Unfortunately the Total Launcher's auto-rotate is not really working - though it can do both orientations

  28. I've tried quite a few different launchers now and I've only found one so far that handles landscape mode well. (TL;DR, it's Total Launcher). The Pro1 default Quickstep supports landscape mode but only using a "two halves" approach that screws up widget placement (my old 1x1 and 2x1 widgets all get stretched to 2 rows, and can't be positioned across the center line of the screen), and it also lacks a lot of other pretty basic customization options. Some launchers don't support landscape mode at all, they're just in portrait mode all the time. These include: Evie and Smart Launcher (n

  29. Ha, thanks a lot! Both worked. I tried top before - but didn't see anything special. But checking the log for crashes I could see that Android Auto was constantly crashing... removing and reinstalling it stopped the battery drain and made it work again. Totally forgot about that as I didn't use my car since then πŸ™‚ So yeah, it seems the update made all Google Apps crash. Is there a reason to prevent that? Reinstalling the Google Apps each time wouldn't be an issue - but I need to redo the configurations each time as well, which is a bit annoying :)

  31. Your experience is consistent with mine. When you talçk about "eaten inputs" you mean on the physical keyboard? As in, the first few (2 or 3) keypresses get ignored, then the very next one gets repetaed 3x or 4x. I got this a few times too. I don't wanna come across as complaining. What I'm really interested in doing is help iron out these small wrinkles as bes as I can.

  32. I think it all comes down to one simple thing: A small company with very few people, that have to be everywhere doing everything 24x7x52... But SURE it is annoying that refunds are not a simple online operation - but as they explained to us before the UK bank got a special requirement for a director to physically visit the bank to do so. And that is a LOT of expensive time wasted for a CEO, so I guess they try to collect a bunch before going - and (hopefully) refund requests are rare....

  33. It is a known issue on stock ROM. I believe that random reboots on low signal network is also relared to this.

  34. I can reproduce this quite easily at home, in a room where I have poor wifi signal. Unfortunately, my router is not configurable directly, I have to go to the internet site of my provider and there is just a few parameters I can modify.

  35. One idea is for people to install an app like Wifi Analyzer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en_US) and report what it shows for the Pro1 vs other phones, at the same distance from the wireless access point. This is a screenshot from the Play Store, not from my Pro1, but it shows how the app shows the signal strength in dBm. The values will always be negative values. Values closer to 0 (zero) are stronger than values further away from 0. dBm values are logarithmic scale. Every 10 dBm lower in value (closer to zero) represents TEN TIMES th

  38. If I'm understanding what you are describing, Simple Mobile Gallery does that as well-- Hit edit pencil, tap transform. It is pretty close to a free QuickPic knockoff without ads. Not trying to get you to change, just info for others. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.gallery&hl=en_US

  39. Shake Light - On my Moto G6, there was a built-in feature to turn on/off flash by shaking the phone. It does the same thing which also works on Pro1. It is completely ad-free and works in background DualSimRinger - As Pro1 currently does not have a setting of separate ringtones for two SIMs, I have installed this app yesterday. It looks to be working well, however, it seems it will request an in-app purchase in a week... Fast Notepad - I use it to take some quick notes sometimes Aqua Mail - I found it as the best e-mail client for me because it supports aliases, has perfect IMAP Push support,

  40. I would stay away from QuickPic. I used to swear by it, but it is now owned by Cheetah Mobile a notorious spyware publisher. I replaced it with Gallery Pro by Simple Mobile for which your description is appropriate. If you are using an old pre-Cheater Mobile apk, then you are ok, but folks should be careful.

  41. The key apps I would recommend anyone are 3C All-in-one Toolbox Pro (Especially if you with adb give it android.permission.BATTERY_STATS ) GSAM Battery Monitor Pro (Especially if you with adb give it android.permission.BATTERY_STATS ) Greenify - to help automatically clean up, the bloat that you have chosen not to disable due to occasional usage. Android Assistant - To help manually clean up Netguard - a non-root VPN 'firewall'. Textra - a nice SMS/MMS app, that works great with a real keyboard NOT giving a small window of a few lines for entering the text..

  43. So, after 18 months in total I have all the phones. And to be fair, the additional phones took 12 months for delivery. But, now I know for sure that my first phone is defect. USB C video does not work, nor has it ever. Pfffffff, so now I have to contact support and send it back to FxTec support. Which means I will have to go back to an old phone for I don't know how long. First the screen stopped working and now it's a fact the USB C video out isn't working. It never worked by the way. One of the fist things I tried was plug it into my monitor and PicoPix. It didn't work. I just plugge
