Have had phone since 2020/01/27 (January 27th of this year) Things I like: Excellent Camera (with Camera PX 7.2.014.278150624 software) Fully customizable keyboard with SwiftKey overlay so I can cheat when typing Amazing speed The keyboard Ability to install/uninstall every and anything Storage capacity (1TB sd card works perfectly) Fast charging Seamless app integration (Contacts+ 5.32.601 is the BOMB) Samsung Browser speed and that it doesn't hang up and gag like it does on my other phone Super responsive screen The keyboar4 points

I have never had a problem with "autorotate"-- maybe because I have it turned off. Everything works as it should. Apps that can do landscape do it with the keyboard out. Apps that can't don't and get used in portrait or split screen. Apps that are adaptable can be used in either orientation. I especially appreciate having Kindle Reader in portrait with the keyboard out as a grip.3 points

Unfortunately, we don't know the progress of delivery or what kind of contracts they have or what solutions they may try to find. So currently they are the only one who knows what is possible to achieve or what is not. I really hope if they can do "something special", that means they are in the finish line of delivering all of their existing pre-orders. Also our existing Pro1 may benefit of XDA collaboration if it means they can help in software development in any ways. Don't forget, basically F(x)tec is a hardware development company, so what they may really need is some help in so2 points

Ordered mine on 19 Feb. 2020 if memory serves me and I got it about 3 weeks ago. Since I've only had phones with a physical QWERTY keyboard, it was worth the wait. The device itself is all I wanted in a smartphone: a mini laptop, not a social-media centric slab that dangles awesome hardware specs in front of you with no adequate input method. ๐2 points

Indeed, this is basically what we do with a P20 Pro shell. So yes that would certainly work. I think the reason some of us 'like' the flip-case, is more like in lack of a better option. But the case @LIMA presented, certainly looks like a fine alternative.2 points

I don't think your HAVE to do all three entries, but you can have up to 3 entries.2 points

The email said we get a 10 minute early bird notice at 1:50pm but didn't say what time zone?1 point

My friend has started using "night mode" - if I write it correctly - using the lowest level of blue/orange balance. He feels its lower brightness value has started somewhat working.1 point

I gotta say I find all this hype very annoying. Finish proยน damnit, talking about something else when proยน still not delivered just pisses me off. Finish shipping peoples orders. Ship our headphones. Finish the stock software, there's still people using it that have been waiting a friggen year now! Just pisses me off every time I get another email about this something special bullshit. FINISH DELIVERING WHAT YOU ALREADY PROMISED BEFORE MAKING ANY NEW PROMISES, PLEASE. Ten minutes to preorder something new? Who would be stupid enough to do that if they are alreaedy faimilar with thi1 point

Thankfully we have the Angelic Blessing of Heaven to fix that. See: https://github.com/Fxtec-Community/Pro1-Android/issues/6 Whatever issue you may have could also be remotely related to: https://github.com/Fxtec-Community/Pro1-Android/issues/51 point

This looks like a really nice solution for the case! How well do you think this would protect the phone from fall damage? For people who like flipbook-type cases I think glueing just the leather part of another case to the back of this would work quite well, or am I forgetting something important for this to work?1 point

Installed lineage-16.0-20201026-nightly-pro1-signed via OTA. Phone still in working condition, nothing unusual to report ๐1 point

Thanks to all for the replies. For me, SwiftKey always showed in Floating Mode while in Landscape Mode and most of the controls were off screen. By enabling "Show virtual Keyboard" I was able to pull the controls up so i could see and use them. I finally found the option to put it into "Full"-Mode as shown by EskeRahn. I think it's still kind of sad, that SwiftKey seems to be the only one offering this feature, so i guess i am going to submit feature requests for this at the open source keyboard projects, so that weg get a privacy-friendly alternative.1 point

Okay it finally came in! TL;DR: I'm finally going to move this phone into daily driver status. I've been too afraid to carry it till now (hope the Pro2 has a non-curved screen), but I now have the best screen case for the Fxtec Pro1 available as of now. In the beginning, there was an @EskeRahn flip case special. Then there was a hacked together Huawei case I got from some particular user's recommendation (maybe also an Eskie? Amazon US link) that worked except that I could not fully close the screen enough to be comfortable that I wasn't gonna somehow damage it in my pocke1 point

It certainly is a matter of priorities! I just love my Pro1! ๐๐ฅฐ ๐คฉ Sure there are things that could be better. But there are NO other devices offered that comes closer to fulfilling my needs&wishes. So with no viable alternatives, Pro1 got an easy win in my book....1 point

@EskeRahn I see you are confused, so let me explain a bit more. In my opinion ALL resources (human and financial) of f(x)tec should go toward fulfilling customer orders. No matter what the "something special" is, there is money and work spend on it. And now, imagine this "something special" is pretty cool and people want to buy it? F(x)tec can not deliver, so all the work and money invested into "something special" is just wasted. That is unless "something special" is just designed to funnel money out of the company as "marketing spend" and then back into the private pockets of the f1 point

IIRC, the keyboard backlight should always be on if, and only if, both the display is on and the slider is out. The keyboard backlight code (and LED light code) is here: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_fxtec_pro1/blob/lineage-16.0/light/Light.cpp1 point

Hello, again. I also made a bumper case ๐ It helps me to avoid touching screen edges by accident. I also noticed that I could hold Pro1 securely because FDM printed layer lines work to prevent slipping. You can download the data from here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:46189451 point

Yes, I see what @Gon009 is describing, although i don't often lower my brightness. And how bad the effect is varies-- not as noticeable with photographs (though still there). What it seems to be (and I'm not technical enough to describe this in terms of what the pixels are doing) is that, as brightness lowers, there is a gray-green wash over everything. I'm thinking it could be that the brightness slider is yoked with contrast adjustment so that rather than losing just brightness, you are lowering contrast as well. And/or saturation. Hopefully this is software rather than hardware.1 point
