  1. Can you record/play sound? That is, is it 'limited' to calls? If so I would try to force stop and clear the data of the phone app, and see if it solves it. Does a SIM from a different carrier change anything?
  2. You might also try killing stuff running that does not have to run. Settings, System, Advanced, Developer options (*), Running Services. (*) If yo do not see "Develop options", go to Settings, System, About phone, Click Build numerous times. Here is what I usually leave running:
  3. It is clearly a software bug somehow. Note how the icon appears (but quickly disappears again) when you plug in. So I would say that it is extremely likely that a factory restore would fix it. BUT before walking that route, you might want to see if there could be any app installed that somehow could be affiliated, that it might be worth trying to uninstall (temporarily). Making a backup of everything can be quite tedious, and restoring everything might reintroduce the bug, as we have no clue where it is... I tried googling to see if someone has the similar problem on other hardware,
  4. Well those that do not find a hardware keyboard essential (or at the least very important), would never even dream of looking at this, so comparing it with things without a real keyboard really does not make much sense. This is a niche product. For a mass product selling in the millions the development cost distributed per unit is negligible, but for a niche product it is a totally different story. We know from other threads (custom declarations) that the raw hardware price per unit produced is around $300 (Again: low quantities gives high prices), and that is BEFORE adding the heavy
  5. Thanks, moved to the closed info-thread.
  6. Yes it is purely cosmetic only, and can easily be hidden with a cover (or film). I also noticed at the lower end on the last photo that it seems like a patch have been 'worn-off' too. So though sad, at the least nice to know that it seems rather easy to scuff.
  7. Interesting to see that the back gets scuffed that easily 🤢 But thanks for sharing 👍. Glad I got mine in a shell (well flip case, but the back is protected all the same)
  8. How odd! It takes less than 1 sec here. (different headset though)
  9. Can't you just push away the stickers from the back? And the middle hole does not seem to have a sticker on mine (either). My guess would be that their repair plan is to replace the stickers after service, so they could be more 'brutal' removing them, than we would prefer to be. I definitely would try that before messing with the hinge, if/when I need to open one.... 😇
  10. Are you sure? It is with slider in OPENED not closed position. When I look at the image just above the step 3 header, they look VERY aligned
  11. Just being curious. What is behind these two stickers+centre hole? From the positions I would guess access for the lower screws without dismounting the hinge, when in slide open, with a long thin screwdriver
  12. HINT: Clicking the images does nothing, BUT if you right click and select to open in a new tab, you get the images in a much higher resolution. Especially interesting with the (currently) last one where the battery and other stuff are visible.
  13. It seems to be a different battery company you linked. Not the same address and googling I see no relation between "Sunshine" and "Guoxia", and they claim it to be established in 2013 not 2018.
  14. For other users: Also see the discussion over here;
  15. Thanks a lot! I'm disheartened to see that it seems to be a custom battery tailored for the Pro1!! 😱 Searching for GX5036108PLN with various spaces inserted does not seem to lead to anything relevant. So this leaves us with no known alternative source if F(x)tec -for whatever reason- should stop ordering/offering them. Though we now know where it was produced: "Dongguan Guoxia Electronic Technology Co. Ltd", that at the least is known with an address here
  16. Sounds interesting 👍 Did you notice the request in this thread? https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2933-buy-fxtec-pro1-compatible-case
  17. The one you are looking for is the fifth from the bottom just above the one with OTG. But look out for the emergency calls test!
  18. I would gladly help by sending you one, but as shipping from Denmark is pretty absurdly priced, I hope someone else closer by can help you out. It is really easy to modify a shell type of case for "Huawei P20 Pro" , so you could have anyone around you do it. It does not require much. For a soft silicon case, I would say 5-10 minutes with a pair of scissors. I have used the small scissors in a Swiss army knife for the dozen or so I've cut If you got a friend that can do it for you, i have explained it in quite a lot of details and pictures in this post: https://eskerahn.dk/?p=3620
  19. It could be that you last time tried inside a program that tries to interact with the keyboard a little too smart. I think I recall some have reported specific keyboard issues in specific apps - can not recall neither the issues nor the app, sorry. Check the date of the update you got. The last update is from the first week of March and thus quite close to the 6 weeks ago you mention.
  20. Got it in the mail today, and well it is not a good fit, but not hopeless either- with suitable modifications. On the plus side the the two feet on the button side lands perfectly around the fingerprint scanner, and not touching the power button. On the minus side one of the bottom feet sits right over the usb plug, but it will work practically equally well if you cut that one away! The rubber feet are designed for grabbing a thinner phone, but are just put over a 15mm long plastic pin, and can easily be pulled off and then remounted a little further out. Either glued on or remo
  21. @Raksura moved your post quoting the recent letter over to the locked thread here
  22. ...That update seems to be delayed.... 😜
  23. Sorry, I accidentally pressed edit not quote, and did not even notice at first. *Silly Me* Tried to post: I bought a fairly cheap one, and it seemed to work for the display - did not try to connect neither a usb-mouse or a larger usb-keyboard though. There is a thread in here on the subject some months old....
  24. Nice, I like that the majority of the image is out of the focus plane. If too much is in focus it easily interferes with what icons that are displayed on top of it.
  25. I too find it a bit odd that the keyboard being the number one selling point for the Pro1, I would have expected the software for it had be giving a lot more care before it hit the streets. On the first for other readers, you are talking the wish for a DEDICATED slash key, it is not that we can not get a slash (Fn+P for qwertY and Fn+7 for qwertZ )
