Never heard of it..... a must have... Just bought one from ebay for $16 and twice that in shipping(!) *LOL*

Translation, read it as "fumble to get to", as obviously a swipe is easier. I'm not a big fan of the gesture thing myself though. (I'm not likely to become a hardcore sailfish afictionado)

Your cat obviously ate the fish... 🤣 I believe he is referring to new Android 10 features he is missing in Pie.

Too bad.... Contact support, If you not already did. There is no guarantee that they read all in here.

Sounds to me like incorrect SMSC rather than APN settings. But know nothing about Verizon, so could be other issues.

I meant that the PreProd unit has a poorly calibrated display, and this was super easy to compensate with no additional programs in Lineage.

Several times (on two different hardware installs) I have seen that it suddenly stops charging while idle, still providing power though, but very little (less than 100mA). Unplugging and plugging again, and the charging continues (using a slow charger capping around 5W to be kind to the battery). As I use a magnetic plug cable (that works fine with both std Android and Lineage on same devices), it is fairly easy just to to lift the plug so it releases and let it snap back on (when I see the current on the meter has gone down), and that does the trick. I have seen the phenomena as l

Another minor bug I tried to turn off the PIN-code requirement on SIM card1, it says the PIN code entered is wrong. But most likely never checks, as the number of remaining retries is not reduced. I tried four times in a row (and the limit is three)... I then tried to move the card to SIM slot 2, and here I AM allowed to remove the pin request! I then moved it back to SIM slot 1, set it to Require Pin, and after that to not require, and this time I was allowed! I then set it back to Require, removed the SIM, booted without SIM, Inserted SIM and booted again, and am still al

Browsing for "Night Light" I found the much more powerful "LiveDisplay". And especially noticed the "Colour calibration". Setting the PreProd unit to RGB=(100%,90%,80%) I get a perfect neutral black to white scale. And then can adjust that with the day/light settings. Awesome!!!

Well the problem here is that the current Sailfish build allows you to select and accept both date and time, but the entered values are immediately ignored and replaced by the old date and time. So either this option should be removed, and it should use a NTP-server OR it should be repaired. Obviously the optimal would be that the "Automatic update" could use EITHER the cellular time stamp OR a NTP-server. But do not get me wrong, as it will be rare that people flash sailfish without access to cellular net. Once it has been initialized correctly, you can remove the SIM, and the clock

Trust me, you are not alone.... 😇

e.g. these ?

Well strictly the battery comes with some electronical components, so in principle one battery could send out substantial electric noise, that the original did not. Not very likely to say the least though.

Tried on another Pro1. Automatic update of the time works, if it got a cellular connection. You have to select manual first to set the time-zone, but you can not set the time/date manually, but automatic works. I was a little surprised to see their store, with so few apps and so few downloads. How many sailfish devices are active 10K?

Just tried to install LineageOS, and it went much smoother than I had hoped. The guide was 100% correct, no guessing needing, and everything went perfectly smooth. (Yes yes, a few documented bugs are still there), So big kudos to @tdm and others that have been involved, awesome job. 😎😎😎

Ah! That would be a good idea, and reach a broader audience. Actually the Google translate is quite readable, so might not be that hard to adjust it where it fails. And yes indeed robust and sturdy would both be fitting IMHO.

So if someone says to you it take "a while" to fix your car, you expect that to mean at the least four weeks? If so I can please you that the Pro1 is only a while delayed...

It is just in your personal interpretation that it "superseded" anything... It could just as well be read as a confirmation, that indeed it had been extended, compared to the original stop that was noticed June 17th. But certainly I agree that more clear communication would have been better, also in this case. And things get more muddy as 17th and 19th are just a few days after they showcased the earphones on twitter June 14th, where it would have been a perfect opportunity to say to us that it was close to last chance to get them free with the pre-orders.

Nice and thorough review, thanks. 😁 A tiny detail in the conclusion, that may be a translation error. The translation says "rugged", many would expect that to include some IP-rating. So maybe add the lack of that as a Con, so people do not get the wrong impression.

Yeah good question. We will have to see when one is disassembled. I have been unable to find anything matching. But could well be I just do not know where/how to look.
-
Well as the Pro1 is so hard to get replaced, I think a little extra care might be a good idea.... And actually the yellow leather-look one is rather nice looking, so If I could get one that has the right quality in real leather, I might stick with it.... I guess it should be stiff leather that is reduced in thickness near the bend, so it bends smoothly.

And the funny thing is that I never used a flip case before. 😊 And I'm not sure I will keep using the flip-cases when the Pro1 get into general availability. Though I might have gotten used to it by then... 😇 Earlier I just used a simple protective shell giving a better grip, starting with the Ip6- that was slippery as soap but actually to get a KB-case. And later I made a better DIY solution. And a case was also needed to use a KB on the Samsung S8- see this

And on June 19 it said " Limited offer. Extended for one more week" (see this) so that would put the end a while later, not a month later, and hence not July 12. And yes it was unclear from when that week was counted. June 17? June 18? June 19?. So sometimes late June, or if they were very kind stretched to early July, not mid July. Maybe someone ordering around late June early July can tell if their order was with the Earphones? As we do not seem to have saved info on the exact cut.

I think we have somewhere found the VID and PID of the device, though I do not recall what they are. But this is a general file for the device and if it went in that way, and the file does not exist, it should use the generic.kl as I understand the Location section at the top of this So I will guess that it is is not sending a scancode as a keycode, but rather fake a keycode, similar to what I guess a fake keyboard like GBoard does. Otherwise we should have been able to look up reversely and sees what generate the Fn F3 and F4, and that was what we tried... Of course it COULD be

(I just waned to make sure that the bug from the current stock has not been copied over to Lineage. With stock you can try to close on say a toothpick, and see you can activate keys even if the slider is closed, this means that squeezing the device in say a pocket can press a key)
