For me, it was January 4. 2022.

Right, however, it is a very crazy solution - putting someone back replying to an issue created a long time ago. One may not know if that is currently waiting in queue, put it on hold or closed without any notification. Last time they told me they have booked a replacement USB board for me but they haven't requested shipment info. However, I gave them my address on 4th of January, so practically a month ago... however, I have also asked them when they are expect it to be sent but no reply so far... and my USB board is getting worse by time going... However, this case has started

Pro1, Ghost touches and other digitizer and display issues
VaZso replied to michal@hanu.la's topic in Support
The black tape is there because the copper-like part of new screen is sticky which would make hard to remove it later. I would suggest to place a similar sticker on that or remove what was placed on original screen and place it there. What I suggest is to use some glue like A800 at edges on assembly especially at the lower edge where the ribbon cable comes to ensure it can not move later what may cause a similar problem like these ghost touches. The silver-like tape is a conductor (shield) on top of screen/touch controllers and its wires, so I would suggest to also move it to the n -

Here it is: -
@kashif, my original screen of Pro1 did not have similar dots but practically every replacement screens (mostly spare) bought at Aliexpress had a similar problem at corners at a higher or lower rate. However, it has not changes for me, I don't think you have to worry about it.

Anybody selling a qwertz fxtec pro
VaZso replied to Mailmonster's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Partly... so yes, German layout allows access to { } via FN key but I use QWERTZ physical keyboard together with non-shifted QWERTY logical layout and I can reach accented characters using FN button. However, I am a bit special here - basically normal QWERTY layout allows better international layout compatibility as special characters of a language may be placed to those buttons what became moved as a result of shifting. So I also should use őűéáóúüíö characters during writing a message in my native language which buttons are at a non-standard location on the shifted variant. I don -
I haven't held a Cosmo Communicator in my hands but I am curious how it is in reality. 🙂 Anyway, I think a full keyboard what Pro1 has is much better than a reduced one or at least I find it more convenient (easy use of Linux terminal and keys are reachable easily without complicated tricks). However, others may also find normal keyboard-like buttons are more convenient, especially who has less sensitive fingers. Anyway, I have recently received my Pinephone Keyboard which basically looks to be good and I think it may be somewhat comparable to Cosmo's keyboard but I feel to be a bi

True, the same applies also for me. -

The biggest problem (for me) would be the shifted key locations instead of missing umlauts. Personally, I don't need German-specific umlauts but I am very happy with Pro1's QWERTZ variant because at least it has standard QWERTY key placements. Anyway, it may worth a question for F(x)tec if they may have QWERTZ or current non-shifted QWERTY keyboards as spare part, but it may have low chance before Pro1-X availability. However, replacing the keyboard itself of a shifted QWERTY variant to another one is possible. ...but you are right, most of the Pro1s were sold together with sh -
Right, but they planned that Pro1-X will be 100% identical to Pro1 inside (except of the option of using larger UFS and more RAM). They have also planned to release Android 10 for Pro1/Pro1X. I am sure they had to spend more money for the effort of Pro1-X to go ahead (keeping the project instead of dropping it) than if they would if they were continue paying for software improvements of Pro1/X (as the original plan)... Looking back where we are now, as Pro1-X is a different hardware and the amount of Pro1 phones are limited, it is unlikely they are planning to support Pro1's OS but

I think at the beginning, they wanted to do it differently but a lot of things have happened. Also, the SoC availabilty problem crossed out a lot of things. Redesigning a phone has added a lot of financial penalty and not only on the later availability but redesigning schematics, PCB, aditional tests and certifications need plenty of money. ...and this problem leaded the Pro1 to be a "dead end", so financially it does not really worth for them to invest large amount of money for further OS developments, as Pro1-X wil not gain anything from it and it needs to walk through its own way (

Basically you are right, but that is one thing what I hate in Android from the beginning.

Problem opening (disassembling) the bottom keyboard part
VaZso replied to John Veness's topic in Support
It may happen it is a (software) power-off sequence as primarily it does a hard reset but it does not really want to stay powered off (as power button is pressed), so I have pressed volume button then selected power off earlier. I did not know they put in a poweroff like what you have found but it seems they have programmed this behaviour then (not at OS level but in the boot code). -

Also, that is more like the reset button on a regular PC, so it is not in connection with any software, that is a hardware solution. ...so unsaved data (for example) will not have any chance to be saved... -
Problem opening (disassembling) the bottom keyboard part
VaZso replied to John Veness's topic in Support
It is holding tightly as per my experience... I don't really have good advice but I have used a very thin prising tool near the edges which I could open the case with. ...do not use sharp tools as it may easily cause physical injury to phone's body... Anyway, if you could dismount the base, ensure to open it gently as fingerprint sensor's connector can be easily broken if it is still connected or not fully released. I don't think any options exist to shut down the system properly without a screen. By pressing power button, it makes a hard reset, so you are right, it is not t -
Pro1, Ghost touches and other digitizer and display issues
VaZso replied to michal@hanu.la's topic in Support
Does Pro1 look to be working? I may try to disassemble it again looking for a released connector. Basically I am thinking of two connections - one is the connector at the bottom of display assembly which may has came out and there is also a connector of that display cable at the bottom part of the phone but it has a metal part above so maybe it is less likely to come off but maybe it is also a possible thing to release. (These are snap-in connectors but an impact may get them to release.) I would also buy a replacement screen anyway as it may happen also the screen may has proble -

It is a starting point for Pro1-X, some of them are software (blobs)-related - "this part" should be open for development on Pro1-X so definitively these should be addressed on Pro1-X. Right, that is what only F(x)tec could modify but that means their partner and they need money, I am afraid also Google certification needs money if they make some related modification... I have a bad feeling about microphone noise filtering anyway. Right, that should be their goal. I really hope they can make it constantly available as components shortage still can cause manufacturing proble -

Anyway, main camera quality is very good if GCam is the application which handles its data, so it may be a software issue with stock camera which is not really good. I hope telephony audio quality will be better on Pro1-X. I currently don't really have audio quality issues here but sometimes other party complains about it is being too silent and there are definitively better phones in audio quality at the far side. What they should have been solved also on Pro1 but I hope will be solved on Pro1-X is the loudspeaker driving the wrong speaker which is next to its main microphone whic -
Pro¹ X – state of production and delivery
VaZso replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Right, that was what I have tried to point at. So an electrical engineer can do schematics and PCB design and microcontroller programming (but not every electrical engineers do all of them and the same level) and a mechanical engineer may do assembly-related designs (including the whole body) and modifications and usually high level software is also related to another team. It is not necessarily work this way but these are different professions and one territory may need specialists like designing multi-layer, high frequency PCB needs a special knowledge and correct antenna design ne -

VaZso replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Right - for example, if electrical design of Pro1-X seems to be done (which is the case hopefully), they can move to an other product without affecting Pro1's future development. If Pro1-X is mechanically complete, engineers may design something else mechanically. That way a company may keep its employees and make profit with something else when development of a product has been finished. Also that would mean a development of a future phone would be easier if you could keep your employees... Basically development of Pro1-X should has been already finished and manufacturing it the -
I think if you may connect a wired mouse to the phone using an OTG conversion then you can give input pattern using a mouse pointer.

I really hope kernel module (which provides sysfs virtual files) checks for too high given voltage limits (not checked).

Generally, charge estimation based on voltage is very inaccurate if we are speaking about Li-Ion-like batteries but old phones used this prediction. However, there are "battery fuel gauge" ICs which a modern phone should use and it measures incoming/outgoing charge of the battery (charge / discharge quantity). It may have a very good prediction based on charge/discharge current, voltage, elapsed time, predicted battery degradation, etc. ...so it is much more complicated than simply measuring battery voltage what would be very inacurate if we are speaking about accurate percents...
