Update: Until Februari 2023 I won't be able to dispatch out stickers and I'm not sure I'll watch the forum, but until then if you want stickers you can message @Hook to request stickers regardless of location :). They are still available and still free. Edit: do not be concerned, i'm just away traveling for a while :).

The -X has a single stage button, I suppose the specs page needs updated. Can confirm the on the original pro1 first stage is rather devoid of tactility, works for me though.

You're a beast! I'm still stuck at 50WPM but I have been out of the game for a bit due to a dislocated thumb 😬 (no worries, it's fully recovered by now). For me what i'd call a "leasurely" pace would be 40-45WPM which I'm sure people can do on a touchscreen, but for me it's not even so much about speed, it's just way less frustrating and harsh on the fingers when there's some feedback rather than just hammering my thumbs on a pane of glass.

I had ripped the membrane on one of the buttons a bit like that when reassembling, but it was still good enough to work (all bits still attached). The second time I assembled i placed some kapton (mylar) tape over it to protect it from damage on assembly because I was quite concerned about destroying it further, this appears to have worked.

I believe there's a setting in "settings -> network and internet -> mobile network -> preferred network type" that allows you to control this type of thing, the options there are cryptic to me though so hopefully someone with a bigger brain will also chime in 😅

I have one phone i stuck an iphone 4 keypad to I found still in stock in a local webshop after a long search: I cut off the edge of the iphone case thing with a knife and put double-sided tape on there. Removing the case entirely wasn't possible as it's integral part of the sliding mechanism. If I understand it correctly, this happens because some firmware or parameters of the touchscreen has to be updated for the margins to be correct. There's a thread about it somewhere on the forum... It can be fixed by either: - reflashing stock firmware (which does the magic on first boot) - some illusive app which only works as root (you'd have to ask fxtec or someone else who has it to get that)

It isn't easy to brick a Pro1 just by software indeed though, you'd really have to be trying.

I've had mine just a bit over a year but don't recall the exact date of arrival, still the best phone ever <3. I feel compelled to share my stickers thread here :D.

I think you get the wrong idea, topic titles sometimes disappear when @EskeRahn merges threads that are just saying the same thing but I've never known any posts to be deleted for being critical or negative while watching this forum pretty closely...

Say Pro1 ten times fast. I have not gone beyond disassembling the screen part, but I did take off the stickers on the keyboard corners for putting them in a scanner and testing my replacements. The best info about disassembly so far are these instructions IMO https://gelraen.github.io/fxtec-pro1-teardown/ also there's a document from F(x)tec themselves but beware this describes disassembly of pre-production unit where there are no stickers on the keyboard corners so it's different and taking the bottom half apart is different (i don't think you need a heat gun for the final units
