Exactly this just happened to me. I'm so grateful a search for "battery drain" pulled up this post. I'm not very technical and probably would hav never discovered Android Auto was the culprit. But I was losing 10% an hour or greater and my phone was heating up. I was frankly getting ready to do a factory reset because I couldn't stop it and couldn't figure it out. But the search turned up this post and I tried it. Uninstalled Android Auto and the drain stopped. Reinstalled, and all was still good. When I reinstalled, I also discovered Google Maps was crashing, so reinstalled that, but

For future reference, a reboot to recovery is on the advanced menu in the Lineage Recovery itself. Glad it all worked out. 🙂
-
Yes, you are right, it is quite normal. I was just trying to alert agent008 in case this was his first sideload and he thought another problem had popped up. 🙂
-
Ummmm, what exactly is not quick about a pulldown quick tile? Probably faster than launching an app. (I am operating from DW saying it is there on Stock, I'm not on stock myself to test). It should be simply lower the shade and tap.
-
Reboot to recovery is mandatory after sideloding LOS because that will switch you to the correct slot.
-
Note that, on my computer, after issuing the adb sideload command to flash LOS, the % tally stops at 47%. It just sits there like that for a long while with occasional text popping up on the phone. You have to be patient, it will complete. Make sure you reboot to recovery after you have flasjed LOS. Also, when you try to sideload Gapps, recovery will complain and ask if it is safe (it's some signature problem I think). Just say yes.
-
I will just say that manual sideloading of the 20200824 update went smoothly. I always sideload, have never trusted OTAs (not because I have ever tried them, so I don't actually have a good basis for not trusting them). So, AFAICT, there is nothing wrong with the nightly zip. (I also always resideload addonsu and Gapps-- I don't trust the "Preserving Gapps" stuff. 😉

New Pro1, best way to get LineageOS + root?
Hook replied to GameboyRMH's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I've never used Busybox, and I don't actually play around with the root folders (which is why I never noticed), but Root Explorer, despite having root, will not remount /root as r/w. As you say, most other app level root functions work fine (SU in terminal, TB backups, etc). -
New Pro1, best way to get LineageOS + root?
Hook replied to GameboyRMH's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
You *always* need to reboot to recovery after sideloading LOS so that recovery can switch the slots. -
Two things to try. Press the top and bottom of the screen and see if something snaps into place. Then check behind the screen (with the keyboard out). Are any of the screws not tight? They are under black stickers, but if they aren't tight they are probably pressing up on the sticker.

Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes
Hook replied to VaZso's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
It may not be a solution you want to do, but as far as I can tell they don't happen on Lineage. -
Nope, no S/N number on the box. There is a serial number on the device, though it isn't the same as on the sticker. The sticker serial number is actually a number that identifies either what sequence the device is in manufacturing or in assignment to shipping. There is no consequence of not having it that I can tell and curiously, I have been told F(x) Tec has no means of retrieving that number. I asked. Which means they make no record of device numbers and who they are assigned to. I don't believe you need that number for any warranty issues. I don't have mine-- it wore off bef

Don't know if it's a solution exactly, but I give my setting and I don't see this behavior. But if it continues, download The Google messages app.

The Pro1, coming from a N900: the good the bad and the WTF
Hook replied to Wasmachineman_NL's topic in General Discussion
The POCOF1 port of GCAM works very nicely, aside form the upside down viewfinder for night sight. https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/themes/port-modded-google-camera-hdr-night-t3910336 But, actually, Open Camera, from the play store, works pretty well. On the other hand, I wouldn't be mistaking me for a camera connoisseur or expert. 😄 -

I use MindTheGapps. It may be better for integrating AOSP apps. I don't use many Google apps, but they install fine from the store and, bonus, aren't installed as system apps. May not work as well the other way around, -

Honestly, I don't know. It just works with the physical keyboard. I don't see a specific setting for it either on keyboard settings or the settings for the AOSP keyboard (which is the soft keyboard I use). I do notice it doesn't work for some reason in the Fulguris browser, but works in Firefox and all the writing apps I use. -
I almost never use the provided charger, unless the phone is low and I know I'm going to need to run out the door with it soon, and then I don't let it charge all the way. Mostly I use my old desktop with 2,0 USB ports and an old USBA to C cord I used with my Nexus 6p.

I wasn't aware anything was broken. Everything is acting properly and just as I would expect. So I'm confused.

You adapt with time. I struggled with it for a week or two. Now I can pop it with one hand (I might even be able to do it as I pull it from my pocket, but I consider that too risky to try 😄 ). It will become natural and second nature, trust me. If a klutz like me can...

This is what I get. When I select "File Transfer" on the Pro1 it just shows up as external storage with both internal and SD card, each treated as an external drive. No drivers show up and never have. I'm on version 2004 currently, but this is the way it worked on 1909 and has been working this way since December, both stock and LOS. And, by the way, I currently connect through a hub. Makes no difference (I haven't always used the hub).

That would be Launch Time, which is the only other launcher besides Nova Prime I found usable. I stayed with that one for a while, but I can do so much more with Nova. Still, I liked Launch Time's approach. It was basically the old Palm Launcher I used to use with all apps on a set of category tabs that you could customize. Again, i don't really use widgets much. With notifications, don't need them much anymore.

What kind of USB ports does your Win 10 machine have. I have never had a problem with my old Desktop with USB 2 ports and an old USB cable from my Nexus 6p, either with stock or Lineage. No drivers needed to be installed.
-
Did you tap the charging notification to get the other choices for USB connections? Charge is default
-
Yeah, I found this out on the last nightly where I accidentlly triggered a reboot after only sideloading the update. Same thing as ED... apps or Google services crashing, had to go back and re-sideload MindThe Gapps and reinstall a couple of apps.

You got yours in 6 months! Holy cow, that was fast. So, now, you'll just be in the same boat a lot of others were in. And one more thing... it's just a phone. Some perspective here. Life does and *should* go on.
