  1. Don't really know how helpful this will be. I got mine last December and that was a really different world, for shipping as well. I was told on Thursday December 5th that my order was completed. I'm pretty sure I had a notification from FedEx the next day showing the package in Hong King. It then sat there the entire week-end and then began moving on Monday. It went to Alaska before coming into the big FedEx hub in Memphis and still managed to reach me in Virginia by Tuesday afternoon. International shipping has been affected like everything else by the Covid stuff, so I would probab
  2. I flashed Test18. So far no problems. I use Nova. Arrow keys work again. 😄
  3. Yup, was just typing up my discovery of the swapping of the arrow keys when you posted.
  4. Test 17 installed smoothly. Everything seems fine (QWERTY).
  5. That's the advantage of Lineage. We can be updated to 10 maybe before IdeaLTE does it. And even if we can't, security updates can be delivered. My Samsung TAB S from 2014 is on the Lineage version of Nougat, but it has the June 2020 security update. I'm not arguing if you prefer Linux, but just saying that Lineage can keep Android going far past Google's official support. So long as apps don't exceed the capability of the hardware, things can go on a long time.
  6. Selfishly, that's all I care about. I doubt I will ever go back to stock except to experiment. 😄
  7. Frankly, I just want smoothly operating Android, which Lineage is fast becoming. I've used Android for 10 years and have assembled a fine set of Apps that do what I want in pretty much the way I want them to do it, allowing me great productivity, especially with a physical keyboard.
  8. Yes, please, thank you! 😄
  9. Here's the US link for these. I failed to turn this up back when I ordered my 1600, lol. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3600-Glue-Dots-5mm-Circles-Black-dot-Self-Adhesive-Sticker-Inventory-Foil/273534542426?epid=27025325402&hash=item3fafede25a:g:gLEAAOSwn0pdOD18
  10. That was the impersonal plural "you," sorry, I knew you were in Germany. 😉
  11. For those in the UK, here is where I got my black stickers-- had to use a roundabout method to get them as they won't ship to US. I don't know if they ship to EU or not. Yeah, way more than any one needs, but they fit perfectly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1600-COLOURED-DOTS-5mm-STICKY-CIRCLE-STICKERS-CODE-PLANNER-CHART-LABELS-ROUND/181524874653?var=480486707280&hash=item2a43b9c59d:m:mETVYHv6c0nGe17rnMZwyCg If you are in the US, I am happy to send you some in a business envelope.
  12. I have one, though I would never dream of parting with it. Ordered April 2019, received December 2019. I think there are a lot of Qwertys out there.

You should have kept reading... I rescinded what you quoted on Feb 25th. 😉
  14. Do you reinstall the Gapps package each time? I do and my updates are always smooth. They should be preserved with each update, but I don't trust that and haven't for any ROM. I used to do the same thing when dirty flashing (updating) Dirty Unicorns and on my LOS 14 Tablet. I haven't experienced any problem with hearing calls.
  15. Guess I was never in a situation where work offered to pay for personal use. In fact, we had regular audits to insure work resources were not used for personal purposes. Still, I don't think I would. That work phone went onto a bag at 3pm and was ignored until it came out again at 6am. I like keeping work and life very separate. To each their own.
  16. Yeah, I suspect that wouldn't work for you. I have the luxury of not worrying about that. When I worked, I never used my personal phone at work. I made them give me a secure phone used only for work. Now that I'm retired, well... 😄 Frankly, I just don't understand why people would voluntarily use their personal phone for work.
  17. The fixes to the keyboard (multikey press) were made in the previous update. The keyboard backlight was not addressed. It is sounding more and more like this update was just to get the properly signed security update out. I'm betting IdeaLTE hasn't been back to work that long and that F(x) Tec is not top prioroty. I'm just guessing. I can't test anything because I am happily on LOS.
  18. For what it's worth, the shutting down which had been happening nearly daily, has not happened since I installed the new Lineage build. Thanks, tdm. 🙂 (Hoping this isn't famous last words 😄 ).
  19. I have always assumed (but I might be wrong) that the factroy reset in settings simply wipes userdata and reflashes whatever version is currently exits. I've never done a factory reset from settings to know if any of this is true. If I'm right, you would have the same version you have now with all updates. If you "factory reset" using the 2019 factory images Chen provided, then, yes, you will have to take all the factory updates to get to the latest version. The good news is, you won't be stuck on the broken update anymore if you took that one before. 🙂
  20. Beautiful, so far. Manually sideloaded Test 15, MindTheGapps and the su addon, changed theroot setting to apps and adb and gave permission to Root Explorer and Titanium Backup and away I go. I'll let you know if I get any more phone turning off, but tbh, that hasn't happened in a few days anyway. Lol. I think it's time to buy @tdm another 6-pack. 🍻
  21. Thanks, I never knew that existed. I'll have to give it a try. I'm not a big fan of Magisk, but the only instructions on this forum were for Magisk. Is the right one Arm64 or Arm?
  22. Okay, so it seems to me that you are talking about a different "SU add-on" than Magisk as Magisk gives me root but does not add options for the root setting in developer settings. Are you talking about (formerly Chainfire's) SuperSU, which I've always used before, or is there another SU add-on you are referring to. I'm assuming the kernel trick works with what you are referring to and not with Magisk. I actually have no pressing need to hide root, but I am curious about how you are doing root just so I can learn the options.
