For me the only surprising thing today is that they finally managed to annoy @EskeRahn 😉18 points

Hi everyone, A quick informal update for you. As confirmed on Twitter, the first batch is in transit. Some of our Asia/Oceania-based customers will receive their tracking details before others, as stock is in transit to our UK and US warehouses. Please bear in mind the customs delays there might be with stock to the UK and US, but hopefully, it will all be smooth. Based on history, customs clearance shouldn't take more than a few days even in the worst case. With this, I don't see why some of our Asian customers won't be able to unbox their devices next week :), with shipm17 points

Can we just let the 29th happen and draw conclusions afterwards, instead of writing pages of complaints on the 28th following a message that stated that they are still on schedule? Of course the vague communication can be annoying, partly because it shows a lack of confidence in what customers could interpret from more details, but our tendency to speculate on the hidden truth every time they say something is partly proving them right. I would love to have more details too, but the overall hostility here suggests that more transparency (including on bad news) could be used against them just th11 points

I assume it's referring to the phone battery, it will be charged at a later date. Couldn't charge it when you ordered as it wasn't ready.10 points

I haven't posted much but been watching the forums, twitter, my email for any activity, waiting for my Pro1 to finally arrive. I share the frustration of seeing estimated dates come and go, but I have to say it's a bit much reading some of the childish negativity from some of you. I'm not talking about rational criticism which is really more like constructive feedback (which there has been a bit of, and fair enough as as estimated delivery dates have come and gone), but some of you are carrying on like FxTec has kicked your dog, or some scam operator intending to fleece you out of your money10 points

Jhonny, we contacted you 4+ times requesting your order information to chase it up for you. We are unable to confirm your order, hence we are unable to make a suggestion when your specific order is going to ship. Could you please get back to us as mentioned several times?10 points

As I usually say to my friends: If you told you would be somewhere at a specific time, then at the latest when you were supposed to leave home, you know you will not be able to make it on time. And unless the delay is trivial, well then send a short text that you are going to be late. Preferably with a new ETA, or wait sending an ETA to when you know (The delay could be you are waiting for a late babysitter). But you should NOT wait to after or immediately before the promised time, before communicating that you will be late. It is the same thing here. When they tell they estimate to9 points

Correct. "Processing" is the status assigned to orders after the payment has been successfully taken. Nothing further to do from your side once it says "Processing".9 points

I heard that Adrian took the most dramatic and elaborate complaints directly to Chinese Customs and the customs agents were so troubled by the world ending anguish this has caused some of you that they actually lent him a prototype jet, fastest ever created, and he will be personally delivering phones tonight to those few that have suffered so much from this tragedy. Please leave milk and cookies out for him.7 points

@Jhonny B I've seen your posts before and someone from FXTec has responded multiple times that you haven't responded to them. This new forum has a way to send a message to a user. You could be using that to contact Erik with your order number or whatever is needed. Yet, you spend your time bitching and making threats instead. It seems more like you are trolling instead of trying to resolve your order issues. Even your "method" of cancelling shows your willingness to be an ass instead of cancelling using the proper option which is provided.6 points

Based on what you've said in previous posts, a lot of your frustration is a result of your own actions regarding work phone situation. I hope you've formed a plan B since then as well as a more sensible transition plan, because otherwise I fear you'll be continually frustrated for one reason or another even after you get the phone ("there's this bug on the OS, OMG fix it it's impacting our whole batch of phones you guys suck, etc")6 points

If the main aspect of this is to be the phone itself, I think I can assure you it will. The hands-on experience at the presentation event was most convincing that we're truly expecting an excellent device, an impression supported by Eskes longer-time testing, as you may've read in his (well-written and detailed) blog entry. But at the moment, I as well as everybody else, am sitting on needles...5 points

We typically don't have an answer to that, as the logistics team drafts up the CSV files needed by the warehouses minutes before the warehouse starts processing them. Factors such as when the payment was received and whether it's an Indiegogo compensation determine in what order devices are shipped. As for @Jhonny B, we are trying to confirm which order reference he has. Due to privacy reasons, we can't confirm why, but we're struggling to locate it.5 points

Thank U Eric, truly. It is definite information; & while not quite as good as some hoped for, it is what we all needed to hear.4 points

Many have asked, and "completed" status on "pre-orders" page combined with "processing" status in "orders" means it's been paid successfully, so no worries :). [edit: I forgot where all I seen this asked before or I would link, but I know it has come up on the forum and the facebook page comments] [edit 2: I used the search function and can not find anyone official answering it, but I know it's like this for everyone from discussing on discord]4 points

If only: "I think it is just one overnight-flight from china (if customs are no problem) and the phones will arrive in the fulfillment centers today. 🙂 Edited 12 minutes ago by Shilor" 1. The phones are stuck in customs, they are not free to fly. 2. Once they do leave China, they will be held by UK (Hong Kong, or wherever else) customs 3. for how long we don't know - this is an unknown product, to a new destination, with no prior shipping history. I speak from experience. I am *not* trying to be negative; only realistic. Openness & honesty from F(x) woul4 points

Acknowledged. We will accept the chargeback. As some of you can confirm, we have never rejected a cancellation request, and we’ve always treated those with respect and understandings. Please bear in mind that cancellations and refunds are a much quicker, hassle-free method to get your funds back than submitting a dispute to your bank.3 points

Erik no I won't like to share my order details for my privacy just like you don't share any real info with us. All I can tell you is we ordered 3 units in May when you said it will be shipped in July. Now coming to the shipping , when I said last time that it won't be shipped on 29 Erik was so quick to respond that it's definitely shipping on 29th. And here comes 29th. I can say this with confidence that they have not shipped any at all. Does any of real customers here received shipping notification? I bet none. This is another trick to get couple of more months. I remember reading this in your website, there is some other topic lying around here where you mention it. Quite an ingenious piece of hardware too. It's difficult for me to commend Samsung for something but this keyboard is one of the exceptions. I have a personal peeve with Samsung which, frankly, I can't even explain. It's some unconscious, irrational thing. But then I am only just human....3 points

Frankly, get a used phone. Always good to have a backup. I've been using a Moto G6 since June. I hate it, but it was cheap ($99 from Google Fi, which service I immeditely cancelled) and it works. It will become my backup for the next time something happens.3 points

Automated tests, like mechanic stuff like dropping and g-forces and emi etc are tested on production samples. You don't personally want a unit that was dropped 10,000 times to make sure it didn't fail, but you want a design that can do that. But like basic functionality, that's usually tested by automated processes automatically. There's something called yield. You start with lotsa units, and hope to yield a certain percentage. In R&D, we were hoping for 10% on some things! They gotta pass lotsa tests along the way, most of them before fully assembled... Based on my own expe3 points

I thought this too. They (and to some extent, we) did it! People are now actively shipping to us the phone we've been looking forward to for years! Sure there was some suspense (which some obviously find unnecessary/uncomfortable), but at this point, maybe that should be feedback for and during the next product release cycle(?), rather than now, when we've just received the message that we're all actually winning! In the meantime, this calls for some kind of celebration and some champagne. I suppose some people celebrate by being critical. "Good for them", I guess? Though probably be3 points

Some people haven't been following this as long, so they might not be aware. The shipping on the 29th was clarified to be shipping from fulfillment centers to end customers. It was not to be shipping from the place they are being manufactured to the fulfillment centers. They were supposed to be shipped to the fulfillment centers a week or so ago. That's why people are upset.3 points

Yeah sorry not sorry that I find humor in all the impatience and elaborate conspiracy theories posted after Erik just updated us this morning that everything was still on schedule. To me it's just a phone. If I feel like it's too long to wait, I could cancel instead of complaining but at the end of the day, it's probably been 10 years since I've seen a decent slider unless I count my Priv which I kinda don't so even if I'm not in the first batch, I'm cool with that. There has been nothing in this process so far that says scam or anything like that in my opinion.3 points

I sincerely appreciate all the work you're putting in. Please keep it up, only a bit more to go! Make this device the way you want it to be. These things.... they take time.2 points

Hey all. I may have looked at the order status page once or twice today. 😁 One oddity I've noticed is that while the order status is 'processing', next to the order total it says "£xxx (charged at future date)". Does anyone know what this means? I've checked my banking and the money has been taken back in August, and it's the same price shown Thanks2 points

I often wonder how much sooner we would have gotten the Pro1 if they weren't busy catering to all the special requests for changes to the final units by forum members to which they definitely accomated some of those.2 points
-
Isn't it a bit overkill, if they send us mail with tracking info when actually shipped? As an alternative to absolute numbers (that might well be considered a trade secret), they could communicate, say weekly, on how many percent of the pre-orders that had been shipped.2 points
-
Robot testing in progress: More seriously, I would assume that they at least test a sampling of the final units both with automated and manual tests. But +1 on the question I hope we can get a more official answer on it 🙂.2 points

Edit: I'm very aware @netman posted this image earlier, it will not stop me.2 points

That's not the point. The point is that they said they would be shipping from the fulfillment centers on the 29th and have said they are still on track for that plan, until today, when we got the weird message about how that may only apply to Asian shipments. If this was the first time that ever happened, it would be one thing. But there is a history here of giving dates, saying things are on track, and then right before the due date, moving the date and being rather slippery about it. I'm sure there are politicians out there who would admire some of the spin that has been going on. As2 points

100% agreed. FxTec produces the phone I always wanted since my old HTC Desire Z died. I am thankfull for that and I will wait patiently until it arrives. Why all the hate in here? It seems to me like some of the users in here act like kindergarteners who do not get their new toy fast enough.... If you are unhappy with the situation, you can always cancel your preorder, or just calm down and be patient. We will get the phone soon 😊2 points

Congrats on being first you lucky Asia based customers! There better be some unboxing vids because I already watched all the other videos like a hundred times now. Don't forget to show us what the case looks like too.1 point

Does anyone know if they are doing robot testing of real production units off the assembly line? Or was that only done with earlier versions that were assembled with a different process and different people? For that matter, does anyone know what the quality assurance process looks like for the phones? Is each one turned on after assembled? Software tests run on it? Etc.1 point

"Days"? If in that range it could just as well be open. I think the best solution is to allow edits freely. But to keep an open history of the edits. And whenever anyone wants to quote something 'controversial', it is a good idea to use the actually Quote-function. So things does not look bad. IDEA: Perhaps it would be an good if a post lost any positive smiley-reactions on edit - for the case where people change something fundamentally (keep any sad and confused).1 point
