I don't know how you managed to brick 4 times. And neither do I understand how TWRP backups are so important. Once you get the device running what you want, how does it brick again? Anyway .. I should eventually get TWRP running with decrypt. Like hopefully within a few weeks. Especially since the new ROMs I'm working on don't have a nice slick recovery like Lineage.3 points

I use XPrivacyLUA to cntroll the applications rights and swift backup to import my cloud backups from my moto. My last brick was, I restored a app (called FolderSync) and at the same time I import a backup of XPrivacyLUA and after a reboot, LOS doesn´t boot anymore. That´s not important, tdm 🙂 You do a fantastic job! It takes to much time for me, to restore every app again and again with customs sounds, custom led notification, for some apps, etc. I have a lot of backups for the most of my apps, but I don´t like to do this anymore. I was wating 3.5 years for a KB phone, now the Pro12 points

I needed a new personal ROM to run anyway. AOKP has been dead for some time, unfortunately. AICP seems to be the closest match out there.2 points

....I can not help the feeling that you might have put more time into developing software for the Pro1 since autumn than Idealte....2 points

Got AICP built but it's not booting properly. Need to investigate, but not right now. I'll try building AEX next.2 points

@EvilDragon: For the battery drain, you can start by getting a logcat and looking for something crashing constantly, or perhaps get a shell and run "top". For the fingerprint reader, it sounds like your persist fingerprint data is full. Try deleting /persist/data/fingerprint (you will need root) and then reboot. Now you should be able to enroll fingerprints and have them saved.2 points

I received mine today. After being stuck with Fedex, not moving for a week, I did what the internet suggested and asked to have the shipper poke them about it with a pointy stick. It worked. Now all I need to do is learn what tweaks/apps/whatnot are recommended, and/or how to install Lineage OS2 points

Did the same as @DieBruineand can also confirm that VoLTE works for me. I'm on o2 Germany. Wifi calling also works. Both on lineage. No icons are being displayed for either though. There is a Lineage pull request that is adding those icons: https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_frameworks_base/+/2795542 points

I have special question. Can anyone take a look and made AospExtended rom? Lineage Os is not bad, but have missing some for me important functions. For example is not possible to fully edit and add navigation keys. What i need is menu-home(recents)-back-search...as on my old phones. This modification was possible on older LOS versions...but from 16 isnt 😞 Another what will be good to change is recents menu layout back to oreo style. This all can be changed in AEX rom. OR...will be possible to put these extensions into LOS? thx 🙂1 point

When I sent back my friend's phone, they did not request details, however, finally I gave them his order number and details, but without their request... So yes, currently they handle warranty as transferable.1 point

Your experience is consistent with mine. When you talçk about "eaten inputs" you mean on the physical keyboard? As in, the first few (2 or 3) keypresses get ignored, then the very next one gets repetaed 3x or 4x. I got this a few times too. I don't wanna come across as complaining. What I'm really interested in doing is help iron out these small wrinkles as bes as I can.1 point

It used to say 4-6 weeks, I believe. the 10-12 happened right when they were beginning to get the factory rolling again. Dang! Ninja-ed by Eske... again 😄1 point

Using the paid version of the full all-in-one toolbox. But please note the granted permission (see hints in the link above), and the markers for plug etc are optional but default not on.1 point

They forgot to send me 2 phones. I contacted them and the additional pones are on their way. Now, mind you, these were ordered and paid for in July 2019. Nonetheless, i contacted them on Tuesday and according to FedEx I will be receiving them Wednesday. That is 8 days later. So I think it's pretty safe to say you can expect a delivery pretty soon after placing an order.1 point

My fingerprint reader sometimes won't respond. I have to use the power button and swipe. A few seconds after that, the sensor will work again. And still my inputs get eaten. Just now it spooked around, which is why I'm editing. Also I just noticed my hotmail account isn't syncing anymore. Maybe a fresh install next weekend.1 point

Tks, do you use the paid version? I can see it looks a bit different from what I got. And it pulled a music ad on me right in the middle of the office, audio volume was on max. Got a few funny looks 😆1 point

Obviously I did not receive the refunds. How does your comment help to this topic?1 point

Just a wild guess, You haven't by any chance something limiting the network access that need an explicit open? I use "Netguard", more advanced options are available if rooted. But sometimes I forget to poke a hole when an app usually not needing net-access for what ever reason does need it for other purposes than stealing our data.1 point

Elsewhere it was officially promised that the guarantee is transferable, at least FX Tec would accept that.1 point

Another thing. Google (the app) keeps telling me it is trying to download my "voice model" for the "OK google" command but it always fails download. I have disabled this voice command but the app still keeps trying to download this so-called "voice model". If I try to enable the option and re-record the voice model, before I have the chance to make a new recording, it tries to contact something over the internet and fails. Could be an OpenGapps issue, don't know for sure. But it is somewhat consistent to what I've been getting from the "Smiles" app which is an app for a brazilian airline1 point

Hi. After another day using LOS, I think there might be a cumulative delay between accepting fingerprints. This is a wild guess, but maybe your code is adding up the delay intervals instead of resetting them after a successful unlock? I'm no programmer but can help you with testing, I'm willing to install another version of this code that would provide logging for your analysis if you think it's necessary.1 point

Have You heard about newly discovered Qualcomm vulnerabilities? DEF CON Safe Mode - Slava Makkaveev - Pwn2Own Qualcomm Compute DSP for Fun and Profit https://youtu.be/CrLJ29quZY8 @Erik: When Can we expect release of patched firmware?1 point

It comes with a touch-margin feature build in, but that wont help you here.1 point

I'm not sure if you heard about it, but there has been some kind of flu affecting a few people since, But F(X)tec are getting closer to getting trough the stacks of old pre-orders. They had reached 70% about the time you gave up. I do not know if new orders pour in at a faster or slower pace than the production has picked up.1 point

Nope, you can install LineageOS from a factory fresh state. But please do post LineageOS questions in the LineageOS thread. Thanks!1 point

Not doable. Your best bet would be to look at virtual keyboards. Swift Key for instance can optionally do auto-capitalization.1 point

Are they lineage compatible? If so, it shouldn't be hard to build. Also aokp should have those features. I'll be making pro1 official for aokp soon.1 point

Hi all, I just got a nice phone protector from MediaDevil this week (I found the link here on the forum) : https://mediadevil.com/collections/apple-iphone-7-accessories/products/artisanwallet-wallet-pouch-case?variant=38665797777 I prefer the "wallet" shape to a simple "pouch" because it provides 2 layers of leather on the screen. I don't want to try a drop test but I hope it absorbs more shocks! The black variant was the only option with "size 4" in stock. Dimensions are good but it's a bit tight to get in/out the phone easily and quickly. I hope the leather will fit better ove1 point

It seems only the first post really talks about a request for enhancements, but I will add mine. With the stock launcher, I would like the ability to: - have multiple pages / homescreens, but we able to set a particular one as my "home", which should be the first one you see if you restart. - rename shortcuts for all items; looks like you can only name groups Both of these are capable in the BlackBerry launcher. As an example for the homescreen request, on my Priv, I have the second page as my home and the first (to the left) has all my banking apps and some others that1 point

Here is a quick demo how you can access to app drawer with function + F(x)tec keys. PS. Ultimate rotation control app is able to force Pixl Drawer and Instagram to landscape.1 point

If you want to stick with stock launcher you can download a custom app drawer like Pixl Drawer from Play Store. It is an additional app drawer and you don't have to change launcher. Then you can install Keyboard/Button Mapper and make a key combination (like function+F(x)tec key) to access app drawer. Edit: Pixl Drawer doesn't actually work on landscape so you might want to find other alternative from Play Store.1 point

We have had this spread in various threads, but perhaps it would be nice to get it gathered. If you ask me none really work super well. The build in has its benefits, but are quite simple. The big ones like Nova, does not really work well with Landscape nor keyboards. Usable, but not really good. But those being used to a specific third party launcher, that supports landscape, could continue to do so. I just use the stock, as the pros outweighs the caveats of its simplicity to me. ADD: I strongly suggest to change the Android setting under Settings, System, G1 point

Hello, i have little problem. On my brand new two days unpacked fx i have some dead pixels on bottom left edge. My problem is when i spot it first time then i will problem with it always 😞 ...it is like on old trinitron crt monitor...when you see two horizontal lines 🙂 I mean that fx wont post me new display...or maybe can post it? It is approx 6-8 pixels on round edge. My question is...will be possible to tell to LOS to cut some of bottom of display? I mean approx made more rounded bottom edges?0 points
