I've always used linage with a ext4 sdcard as external storage and never had permissions issues. (I needed to set the correct owner (media_rw) of the root-fs though ). -
@Val I'm pretty sure that IGG backers are part of this batch and not prioritized. 😞 (which is economically sensible)

You may need to enabled developer settings and set a switch for the bootloader to be unlockable. -
This sound is probing for mic and button. It should stop after 1sec. I had one headset I could't get to work with any of my phones and simply switched to headphones only.

The display on the MotoZ begins to flicker when you turn the brightness too low. I prefer not so great colours over (bad) PWM.

For greater visibility: The camera button seems to be hardcoded to launch the SnapdragonCamera. It should launch the DefaultCamera instead.

Based on your description it seems that Snapdragon camera is hardcoded to the camera button. I think this is a bug, as it should launch the default camera.

Regarding 2.1.2: WiFi Calling: Another user reported working wifi calling with T-mobile after getting the phone "approved" by them.

An update to Android 10 may need a device reset, as the current image is using full disk encryption and Android 10 requires file based encryption: https://source.android.com/security/encryption/full-disk
