  1. I've been pretty quiet this week so I figured I'd give everyone an update on what's going on. We had the cold virus come through our house this week. I had to stay home to take care of the wife and kids on Tue, then I was sick on Wed. I was working on my EDL flash tool Thu and Fri. It works well on Linux but I'm having some issues on Windows and MacOS. Hope to get it working next week. I'm attaching a screen shot with the latest pro1 package loaded and ready to flash. Next week, I hope to get the flash tool wrapped up and start working on the Lineage buil

  2. I know some orders were shipped to EU today, with more to follow on Monday. Let’s see if it included anyone on the forums πŸ™‚

  3. I hope everyone in your house is felling better and can enjoy some of the weekend. The flash tool looks great! The real IMEI, and being able to address radio issues, is a huge leap forward!! This is fantastic news! As always, but it can't be repeated enough, thanks for all you are doing!

  4. I have i tracking number! πŸ™‚ It's from UPS, so far just says label created, so UPS has no day scheduled yet but from experience that will be early next week. Can't wait to check out the phone in person!! Very good job to all working on getting the phones out :-).

  5. I think you better have a talk with your math teacher... The second of the quoted pictures shows 20x12 plates... πŸ₯΄ (assuming one layer only) But on a more serious note, I'm pretty sure that these are fresh images, and thus NOT representing what has just been produced, but what is about to be produced. (And the first image could be no lower than 157 we can actually see, but most likely around 170, assuming most frames we see partly holds six)

  6. I am not posting this in the main news thread as this is a relatively tiny update. EU stock arrived in the warehouse today. We are just waiting on the warehouse to ship them out now. Tracking will be sent any minute today, or on Monday if the warehouse is too busy. I am not sure what's happening with the new stock assigned letters, but we know stock is on the move regardless of this. In the worst case newly assigned orders will be shipped pretty much immediately after they are assigned. Liangchen is back in the factory and he's inspecting the freshly made units and components pe

  7. Holy crap!!! I got Verizon to work!!!! Both I and Verizon missed a step. I was confused because I had verified my G6 was provisioned for VoLTEand that it could send and receieve calls if I set the preferred network to LTE/GSM/UMTS (If I remember the acronyms right-- it was the choice that didn't have CDMA) and that things were that way before they swapped the SIM. What I hadn't done was make sure VoLTE was turned on on the Pro1. I put in the SIM and typed in the phone menu sequence: *#*#4636#*#*. There are 3 provisioning switches on the Pro1. I shrugged and flipped all three and restart

  9. To be honest, looking how the things go in the last weeks (and their communication after this bit of information), I'm not really sure about those 10-20% anymore. If you were lied one time, you won't believe it the second time. I don't think we were lied actively, at least not with bad will. But we were misinformed many times and this hasn't changed yet. The last time they said that the second batch will be sent out on mid-november. Then it was the 20th november and it was actually sent nine days later. Almost nobody got his device yet. The support also still talks about Ch

  10. If You are that much into details... 1. I did not write anywhere You said that, I wrote "I can read here". You're not the only one posting here. 2. If something is not a problem for You does not mean it isn't a problem for someone else - deal with it. There are 2 sides of this barricade. Everything has been here already said on both sides, You didn't say here anything new, neither did I. So just let people say what they think and stop calming them down or "bitching" as You called it (yeah, that is what You did here, isn't it?) when someone asks You not to. What they are doing i

  11. Even though I got my tracking number... I think it's fair to demand WHAT WE HAVE PAID FOR. When You are sitting for 3 hours in a restaurant starving, are You also that calm when every 10 minutes the waiter tells You You'll get Your meal which You have already paid for within next 5 minutes? Do other customers tell You to stop asking for Your meal and just go to the supermarket, eat something else and enjoy Your life instead of waiting? I'd like to see this. Some people are not buying a different phone because they're being told the Pro1 comes within days. I'm one of them. The battery

  14. Fully restore to stock. erase user data. (basically, should be the same as starting with a fresh phone) flash magisk (I used the image provided on the thread about magisk) fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img boot to android install magisk manager verify root works reboot to bootloader, flash default boot.img: fastboot flash boot boot.img reboot to android apply OTA update So root alone isn't enough to prevent the OTA, or is at least reversible. When I extend step 5 to "restore everything" then the OTA doesn't work in step 8. There must be some

  15. Success! You folks were dead right. It wasn't substantial enough to keep the SIM card held firmly, and I suspect I may have a janky SIM drawer as well, it seemed loose to the tech - so I took David's suggestion below. I pulled the shiny new AT&T SIM card out of the wretched keyboardless replacement phone I got yesterday during this ordeal (my beloved 2012 Samsung Stratosphere keyboard phone was on its last gasp), then put that SIM card in the FxTec tray gold side UP, and taped that sucker down on the bottom side. Phone face down, slid the tray back in with extravagant

  16. So you agree that FxTec can't be trusted. That means, we should all go for a refund. (who would pay 700€/$ to a company that can't be trusted?) If that's the way to go, the company will go bankrupt and nobody receives their phone. What you are doing is defending this misinformation and bad communication. If you talk about basic math but the support still tells me shipping is on Christmas, those must be lies. No, I don't accept that from a company and that's why I (and many others) criticise it. If we wouldn't but we would "leave the restaurant", they would probably learn

  17. nobody said that this is a whole batch. You can't expect of them to make a picture of every device. Not saying, that this isn't the whole batch but you can't deviate anything of this pics about the size

  19. We now have the information that batches are leaving the factory about every week and each batch covers about 10-20% of the pre-orders. I would advice people to do the math and estimate the delivery time. It takes atleast 5 weeks + shipping time to fulfill the pre-orders. Probably it is more than 10 weeks but not so much later than that. If you can't wait that long then just ask refund and maybe consider again when there is public availability. If you want to wait but your current phone cannot hold on for that long then try to buy something that do not cause big loss to you. Maybe buy somethin

  21. True that! The tech and I had to get up close and personal with the tray to see it. It's still entirely possible that we had it upside down, or slid off-center, or who knows what. Thank you all for your input and suggestions; this is a great community. I intend to take the phone over to T-Mobile tomorrow to have them try both slots both ways, and see how that goes. I want to rule out error, incompatibility, etc before I resort to sending this lovely phone back. I've been playing with it for 2 days, updating everything via WiFi and USB and transferring my data, and I don't want to l

  22. I never said "maybe it will come, maybe it will not." Not certain where you got this quote from, but it certainly wasn't me! As to your restaurant analogy, you have two choices there, as you do here. Either quit bitching and realize that IT WILL COME, just not right now, or request a refund. I fail to see the problem, other than awful communication on the part of F(x)tec. Because their communication is so bad (although slightly better now that Erik is posting at least every week), you should have realized loooooong ago it's NOT going to arrive "within days!" Guess what? The only way it

  26. This makes me wonder whether one could activate a new SIM in the Pro1 if you just turn on VoLTE provisioning first-- without using a MULE phone, I mean.
    1 point
  27. So, to be clear, the only way to turn on VoLTE was through the special dialer code, not through some settings menu? And to recap, this was an old SIM that was in a phone (the G6) that was activated for VoLTE usage originally? Way to go!

  28. I don't know how it looks like inside, but maybe some cable(s) slipped out (maybe partly) inside - or worse, a connector may have been felt off partly. I would contact F(x)tec directly and ask them what is their suggestion and if they could help find out what can be the cause of your problem. Maybe warranty covers it or at least they have other suggestion - a service may be able to repair it if you (as most of the users) not have the appropriate skills to open/work on such a device. Suggestion: do not open the device if you are not familiar with electronics and definitively not ope

  31. You are right.. it's the beginning of where letters are that would be more centered... Being so comfortable typing on a normal keyboard I don't even realize my pinky rests on ; and not a letter in the home position, those things become taken for granted after time.
    1 point
  32. Well they are not. As G is almost exactly centred, the F&J markers are shifted the same amount to the right on qwertY, as they are to the left on qwertZ. (Splitting sticks actually even a tiny bit more to the right as the G is slightly to the right of the centre) But that said the A-Z block IS more centred on the qwertY. So for users only using A-Z, and if you do not compare with a standard keyboard it is a fine idea. But rather odd requirements. ... Had they just shifted the number row too, it would have been better IMHO.

  33. Without having tried it yet.. Am I the only one who thinks it at least seems like a good idea, so the f and j are more equidistant from the sides?
    1 point
  34. If a non-shifted US layout was existed when I have ordered my device, then I would picked that instead of QWERTZ.
    1 point
  35. That's my biggest issue with what you're saying. You're implying there's no way they'll not deliver, which just isn't 100% confirmed. You can argue about how likely it is, but you can't argue that a startup has no chance of going bankrupt. Again, that information is unreliable at best. Might as well do the math and just make some numbers up in my opinion. There are definitely broken promises here yeah, which probably feel very similar as lies to the people on the receiving end. Personally I also don't really believe they truly believed some of the things they have said (like on
    1 point
  36. 100% not. To do so you need a good organized Database and a well planed shipping logistic. The problem should be the QWERTZ and QWERTY difference, too. If you pack a complete batch (nobody knows how much devices is one btach, maybe only 100 Phones) you send QWERTY to USA. It is not possible to follow the correct order - or paysituation. But for everybody here I think we will get the phones and that is the only important thing. You can count it...maybe 15K Phones are ordered and paied. Take 600 Euros as a good middle balance you get 9 Millions. This is the best bas

  38. With the risk of heading slightly in an off-topic direction.. So I'm european and grew up with GSM since the early 90's. Here, your SIM card would work in any phone, at all times, unless the phone you inserted the SIM card in was carrier locked. Hence my honest question, out of sheer curiosity: Why do you accept a carrier to require device activation, that then prevents you from just swapping your SIM into another device? How can that be acceptable? Why would you even consider paying even one cent to such a carrier? Is it because it's your one and only option or what? If yes, how come no-

  39. It may have been just a cover everything suggestion, But I can't imagine why any phone would need the bootloader unlocked to get a SIM card working (yes, my bootloader is unlocked, but I don't think that's why I was successful). I do think the SIM drawer is tricky. The seat for the card is not as well defined as on some drawers and it is tricky to not dislodge it on the way in. Of course, I used the SIM crd slot on the tip, not the one near the handle that Craig looks like he used because that second slot has my 256 GB SD. It might be easier to use that second slot. My AT&T tech ha
