If it's of any use, here is what I get oinging the WiFI router gateway next to my desk <--I'm not an IT guy and am not very technical and may or may not be using the terminology correctly. π

Yes, exactly, the SIM has to alreadt been provisioned in a Verizon approved phone. In fact, Verizon online may in fact think you are still using the old phone. My Verizon account (Pre-Pay) shows my phone as my Moto G6. Verizon doesn't care about that, or at least they didn't when I clled it to their attention. I had checked with them to make sure they wouldn't later pull the rug out from under me. π

Here is the Verizon thread, and, yes, as @ermghoti said, Verizon is pahsing out their CDMA network and has no interest in allowing a new, unknown phone from a small company on their old CDMA network. They won't even register their own phones on it anymore. However, the Pro 1 works fine on Verizon (except possibly in areas where LTEis not prevalent yet).

Opening with no clack is pretty easy on mine. Instead of stating from the front, I lift the back slightly and just push up with my thumb, guiding the screen into place rather than just letting it fly. It also requires the back fingers to slide down the back of the screen as you open it. A little slower, but easy to do if you need to open it quietly.

Check to see that the physical keyboard language is "default"-- the slant arrow (which serves as the yellow FN key) + L will get you "?" Same for slant arrow + P fpr "/". If you have any other language than "default" selected, it won't work.

Supposed to work like this (minus the TWRP step): https://www.thecustomdroid.com/install-ota-update-rooted-android-device-guide/#How_to_Install_OTA_Updates_on_Rooted_Android_Devices Found this after my adventure, so never got to try it out. It depends on getting the original patching and rooting right.

I can tell you that I have the same build number in the US. I doubt there are regional builds. I originally rooted with the December build. Strangely enough, I used the patched image @Craig first posted which was not made using the December update boot.img. It worked, but later on, when I tried to unroot to take the Januaray OTA, things got really messed up. Unfortunately, I wasn't systematic enough to really pin-point where and how things went wrong. I ended up reflashing the October Factory imaged provided by @Waxberry and just redownloaded all the OTAs, including the (at that time) ne

Sorry. I've used Nova Launcher for so long, I always forget the app drawer button is not part of Android.

1 Yes, the slider gets easier and you end up being able to do it one handed. There are discussions of this here including videos. 2. DDtW has been temporarily disabled to work out a bug. 3. Go to Settings, system, gestures and turn off Swipe up on home button.

You sure you don't have something installed that's a troublemaker, because things have been pretty smooth since the January update.

Which reminded me... just stopped by Anssi's page to donate another couple of beers! π

@alexmarzulli Phone signal and service is tricky to report as a bug because there are so many variables, as you can see from the following thread: I'm in the US and so am useless to give advice. There are a lot of US posts in this thread because US network operators are terrible at accommodating strange new phones they don't know, but there might still be things to look at. I know that by default on the Pro 1 VoLTE is not provisioned, so if your service is dependent on that you may need to flip those switches using *#*#4636#*#* With all the new phones getting ou

This source should be up to date: https://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/ I just meant checking out the maps, not the actual kcm files.

Sorry, yes, I have Qwerty. Check the keymap(s) for QWERTZ to see if he put it somewhere else. If not you can email him and ask him about implementing it. This is why we had either a signature or could do what Eske was able to do with having profile info sow up under the username-- It would be nice to see what configuration someone who asks or answers a question has.

As of version 1.5.2, SYM in Finqwerty wakes the phone when the screen has timed out without having to reach in back. Google Play doesn't always have the latest version of Finqwerty. https://github.com/anssih/finqwerty/releases

Well, even if you don't want to read through the whole thread, appending a possibly redundant bug report to the existing thread which is stickied at the top is still preferable, I think, to creating many many new threads for each bug that each of the large number of new users might run into which will then just be buried by inactivity. I certainly agree the real answer is a bug tracker but that doesn't seem to be happening. Maybe after production is caught up.
-
This has already been reported, as well as the fact that at less than 50% brightnes there is a grey-green wash over things. Good to check particularly the stickied bug thread before creating new threads. π

I've always hated encryption. Just another layer of nonsense. Always appreciated that Dirty Unicorns, which I used on both my Nexus 5 and Nexus 6p, shared my preference. π Not saying this is something you should do, @tdm, just expressing personal philosophy. Looking forward to LOS in my future.

As far as I can tell from when mine was shipped, Lantau Island is the main air freight terminal and it is not uncommon for the phone to spend a couple of days there. In fact, if it doesn't get loaded and moving today, you will likely not see any change until Monday. On the other hand, once it does leave, it should move pretty fast.

And now everything is behaving properly for me with FireFox, so who knows. π

Got Your Pro1, Tracking Number or "Stock Assigned" message? POST HERE!
Hook replied to Krzysieq's topic in General Discussion
I never received an email from FedEx for my Pro 1. I got the tracking number from F(x) Tec and was able to then track it on the FedEx site, so this is not anything new. -
This is probably why I still use and like Nova Proβ I really don't use widgets much anymore. I really like Launchtime as well, and that would be the one I would be most likely to switch to, but I have a very nice, very simple Nova Pro setup that rotates well. A 7x6 grid with a 7 Icon dock, a row of 6 icons and a row of 6 folders on a black background. Almost never need to go to the app drawer. In Landscape, the dock goes vertical on the right, the 6 icons that are above in portrait form a horizontal dock in landscape with the folders above that. My only widget is a clock widget which is also

I use Firefox on my Pro1 and have also not seen this. Also not tending to use it that long. However, I am trying out Brave as I have found one peculiarity with Firefox that I do not experience with Brave. This didn't used to happen, but recently I have had trouble logging in to the F(x) Tec forum and one other forum, What happens is that when I go to log in, the "accept cookies" dialog pops up. When I dismiss it by saying okay, I get a login failed error. If I fill in email and password first and then okay cookies, the login also fails. All combinations fail. I can't log in. This

I had AT&T Prepaid for a month while I was working out Verizon. The apn was AT&T Nextgenphone. However, the account has been cancelled so I don't have the preferred networks setting for it, I do know I didn't have to pick that setting. It used the default.
