  1. We are very sorry for the issues caused. After some investigation we have found the reason, it was due to the upgrade of security patch to October which needs to be approved from the authority before it was released, which caused CTS to fail. Also there is no way to downgrade security patch via OTA (the user data will be wiped if doing this way.) Therefore the current workaround / work is: - We are acquiring the latest security patch (Feb 2020) and will submit for approval before the next OTA. Therefore once the next OTA with latest security patch applied, and appro

  2. Not really important, but just asking: Did you buy a new phone to replace your Pro1 just because of broken fingerprint sensor? I mean, if the phone is otherwise perfectly usable, why didn't you use for example a lock code instead? I don't even use my fingerprint sensor (or any lock actually), so I could have swapped devices with you.

  3. @tdm Finally had some success with the audio. Since the problem appears only when deep buffering is being used, disabling it from the audio config policy seems to resolve it. 4. I've gotten VLC with OpenSL ES initially working by taking audio_policy_configuration.xml from 1+5/5t. There are quite a few diffs, so I'm narrowing it down now. If you want to try this out yourself and report back, do the following: 1. Remove or rename the directory /vendor/etc/audio. This contains the currently used audio_policy_configuration.xml file. 2. Update /vendor/etc/audio_policy_configuration.xml with this one. I am particularly interested to see if this fixes audio issues in other apps. Note: audio_policy_configuration.xml is search fo

  5. Sorry to hear you had to buy another phone.. As you may or may not know, our factory in China, including their supply chain, has pretty much been off for the past 2 months. We are told they are back operating at some capacity but it's still nowhere near the efficiency and speed before the Coronavirus outbreak. Although very slowly, devices are being produced, but what can we do about that? We don't have 5+ factories like Canon, and we don't have the comfort of moving manufacturing to Taiwan like Apple did. We would be happy to replace your device, but how do you do that when half of

  7. The keyboard fix is in the kernel (at least the parts you likely want -- I don't know yet what else they have changed). So you need to update your kernel. I doubt much has changed in the ramdisk, if anything, so you can probably use the boot image directly from the update. The only caveat is that is the kernel modules (including wifi driver) are located in /vendor and may not load with the newer kernel. So you may need to update those also. And that would further prevent you from taking any OTA updates. I don't have an updated boot image or kernel modules handy, as I haven't i

  9. SOLD**SOLD**SOLD **If not allowed for some reason, please let me know.** As stated in the title, I am selling my Pro1. #774, asking $625 USD (or best offer) + shipping . Only used for a few days as my daily driver before I decided it is not for me. Located in Utah, USA. The phone works flawlessly, and I have had no issues on T-Mobile, including wifi calling, etc. All functions works as expected. Never had any unexpected restarts, or other bugs that some have reported. Has the included screen protector installed prior to any use. Sticker on the back is slightly wor

  10. @kraynyan Yes, original box and all accessories are included. I would guess shipping would be somewhere between $10-30 depending upon the carrier and options. Let me know your zip code and I can get an estimate for you. Phone has been factory reset and is ready to go.

  11. I'm interested in buying this! I'm on the East Coast, and as long as shipping isn't insane! Are the box and all that stuff included?

  12. I'd prefer a fully screw-assembled bottom phone but it's still quite easy to service compared to others. I don't think we will get back the plastic cover era that was fixed with some clips and let you replace your keyboard easier. What I mostly wonder is if the keyboard sticks after heating up the glue once. You often need to replace the tapes and I just hate that. If it will still glue together, that'a a matter of 10-20 minutes. Also, if you follow @EskeRahns instructions only charging with 1A or less, your battery will live a long time.

  13. You need to do one yourself 🙂 I've used Huawei P20 Pro Cases - Snakehive. Search the forum for more screenshots. Minimal modifications needed. Then you need to slide in a flat magnet at the right position in the credit card holder. I used some sticky tape to keep it in place. It's totally invisible. Some of the app features do not need a smart case though.

  14. If that's the case they should just send a reply to tell them that, it wouldn't explain the inability to reply to emails.

  15. ... Or the more realistic 3) , they don't have anything they can send currently. If you should have missed out on it, they still have not got neither all the phones nor alle the parts they need.

  17. Thank you so much for your answers! :) Well, in fact I'm affraid of factory reset. I spent whole month on this phone and now everything is working superb, just as I want. I've even manage to deal with sound cracklings and speakers channels swap already. Except for the minor issuses with keyboard.

  18. @Erik why didn't FxTec inform us about change of office address? It would be good to know, normally companies inform everyone who may want to try contacting them much earlier... I understand that "going through half of the city" may not be comfortable to get the device sent to an old address, but come on, it's not like I have found the address somewhere on the Internet, it's what I got from the support.
    1 point
  19. @tdm I've done that on mine. All the apps I normally have an issue with are working with this fix as well. I'll let you know if it holds. I didn't even notice that there was a second audio_policy_configuration.xml in that folder there. Definitely confusing.

  20. As an update, my phone has started failing SafetyNet and Netflix no longer shows up in the play store. There must have been a delay between when I installed the update and when Google services noticed the CTS mismatch. (The delay was at least a day, because everything was also working fine on Friday. I haven't checked again until today.)

  21. If you aren't afraid of factory resets due to AVB you can use the boot+vendor with kernel that i built (because be warned it's not signed so installing it will require factory reset), instructions in readme included. https://matland.be/pro1/kernel.zip A better way would be if we can get someone to extract a boot.img from the newest OTA so that you get a signed one and don't need the factory reset. Anyone willing and able?

  22. Ahh, interesting. Well to answer your question: Disable Magisk hide and reboot. Connect to adb via adb shell Elevate to root mount -o rw,remount /vendor exit out of ADB and get back to prompt, then run adb root ADB pull the files to the pc, edit them and adb push them back Reboot device. Sidenote: I believe this will break the signature so make sure you disable ABV. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.

  24. That option should be harmless. If you hold it longer, the board will drop power immediately (some devices require an additional keypress to trigger this behavior, such as volume down) akin to unplugging the power from a device with no battery. This is the dangerous one that was being described earlier. What you're doing is the usual way.

  27. Try press and hold the power only for about 7s and release. That should force it to restart, and that should show something on the display within a few seconds. If not it is almost certainly a hardware issue. I assume we can rule out a completely flat battery, right? If not attach it to the charger and leave it say half an hour, and retry the about 7s power-press. It should at the least show a logo.

  28. It's basically the ID of the key. It is the hardware value related to the key. I don't know what apps exist to get that as you press the keys but you may search for one

  29. Just a small idea, shouldn't the headphone jack area be bigger in the case if someone wants to use for example PC-style headset with a big and thick 3.5mm jack? An issue I atleast have often faced is that with a case and a headset like that, many cases block the plug because the plug is too big for the hole in the case. This is just an idea, I know we aren't that far into making complete usable cases yet.

  30. Take it apart ASAP and disconnect the battery! First under the stickers on the back of screen there are screws (only under the 5 stickers that are accessible by screwdriver) then take off the screen but careful because you have to disconnect the big ribbon cable while doing that. Then there are 3 screws to take loose the hinge parts, then the whole screen side part of the phone should come off and reveal more stickers under which are screws (also two corners of the keyboard have stickers), after taking thouse out you should be able to remove the top of the keyboard part including the keyboard,

  31. there are 2 options: 1. they don't care about after-sales service; 2. they don't have enough people to handle the business. So far I'm going for the no. 2... About the fingerprint sensor: I've noticed the poor mounting of it within the first few minutes after unboxing, I even mentioned it here on the forum but it didn't seem to be a problem for others so I thought maybe it's just about me and tried to ignore it, but it couldn't unlock the phone at the first try even once... What I mean is, at first the phone itself looked robust, but after a closer look and an hour of usage it started giv

  32. My fingerprint sensor broke just two weeks after I got the phone. I've sent them an email asking when they would have replacement parts and devices and waited until 20.01.2020 before I sent it in for repairs. The phone arrived a couple of days before the 29. Since then I've gotten no updates, but a couple of replies after asking about it. I've been waiting for six weeks now and had to buy another phone.

  36. FYI, there is an easy Treble-compatible tweak to wake the Pro1 with any keypress. When combined with the modified lights HAL, this will turn on the keyboard backlight on when the device wakes.

  37. I don't know what "we" want. I was just referring to what happens the way it is now. Right now on qwerty with no layout selected, shift only works for capitol letters, it does not work for the rest of the second level keys, only those weird slanted arrow keys, sometimes referred to oem keys or Fn keys, do that. If I don't like any of the available layouts, I'd bug the finqwerty guy, he's fast to make changes if there's good reason, etc. Until OTA includes some useful layouts, anyway. But as to how I'd like it to work? Of course I'd like shift to work normally for 2nd level.

  41. And actually the old 'standard' was officially named "mini" as the full sim was/is credit-card size (e.g. used by the old StarTacs). And most often when you get a new sim today you will recieve a nano in a micro in a mini in a full sim, that are nested like the Russian Babushka dolls.

  42. Can't predict when the factory will open but can you approximate how long it will take to complete the next batch? Also wondering what general availability will look like? Will local warehouses have the phone ready to ship or will the phone be on a made to order basis?

  43. I bought a Pro1. Wasn't thrilled with it. Had some "me" issues. Sold it. Person who bought it had technical issues (USB not working and other things). They sent it in for a replacement. They were specifically told (and there is even a thread for it somewhere) that warranties go with the phone - not the person.

  44. Before the Chinese New Year when we ship the last big batch, we actually have also produced certain stages for the next batch. In fact that will cover almost all the pre-orders. However because of the virus no one knows when the traffic is re-open and people can get back to work. But I want to let everyone rest assured that the product is indeed there its just waiting for the people to get our of the currently lock down situation...

  46. Lucky me. I was adding water to my fish tanks, and when I lifted the 5 gallon bucket of dechlorinated water, it caught my phone holster, dropping it directly inside. I swiped it onto the couch before it even sank, then ripped it out of the holster. Of course, this caused me to hit the wake button; I saw the screen flash. Gripping the phone by the corners at the charge port end, I snapped it like a whip until the droplets stopped. To no avail, it is unresponsive. I've put it in a baggie of rice, in my oven heated to about 110F. I have little hope to see it work again. It was good while it laste
