  1. Okay all you qwertz folks, here's a Lineage boot image with my new keyboard driver: files.nwwn.com/android/pro1/boot-newkeyboard.img To use it, flash it to your boot partition, "fastboot flash boot boot-newkeyboard.img". Upon reboot the keyboard will have version 0002 which will make Android ignore the custom keymap file in the vendor partition. You will find the following files: /sys/devices/soc/c17a000.i2c/i2c-6/6-0058/layout This is the layout file. It can contain "qwerty" or "qwertz". So start by setting it to qwertz: echo "qwertz" > /sys/devices/so

  2. I have a dock with HDMI out and two usb ports (Aten US3310), using that one the phone charges while showing HDMI. External mouse and keyboard works fine as well. In portrait mode there are lots of black padding to the left and right of the image on the screen. In landscape there is padding at top and bottom. It would be nice if there was some way to get apps to zoom out when using external monitor so everything is reasonable sized.

  5. I'm getting on ok with my Pro1, even more so after realising split screen mode allows apps that don't co-operate with landscape mode to work on half of the screen when in landscape. However, in other ways it's not as optimal as my Priv Keyword prediction and swiping : this was a huge strength of the Priv. Is there a virtual keyboard that only supplies keyword suggestions when in landscape (keyboard open) mode? I could import the Blackberry keyboard probably, but would rather try other options/pay for an existing product. It would also be lovely to map something to 'delete word to the left

  7. ...and a couple of other useful settings adb shell settings put global sms_outgoing_check_max_count 99999 adb shell settings put global sms_outgoing_check_interval_ms 9000 If you don't want to be nagged by Android on sending 'many' base-sms within a short time span. I think the default is 100 in half an hour, so if you are sending a 600 char text with just a single special letter to ten friends - you reach the limit, and are nagged for half an hour

  8. Earlier today I saw mccreary post elsewhere that he updated the GSI test files (same link as in the first post) and if the changes he's been talking about are working, it should be getting pretty good by now.

  9. We really need stickies in this forum for info like this. I only really learned this here myself. Now, if I'm going to charge overnight, I use an older slow charger (or from a PC i leave on overnight). Quick charger is now reserved for when I'm getting ready to go out and see my phone isn't full enough, as it can add a lot of charge real quick.

  10. Thank you, so much! (Receiving an award) I'd like to thank my manager, my parents, all my colleagues and also folks at F(x)tec for making this possible. (Applause and music) ... Who's next? 😉

  11. It holds the phone firmly. To avoid sliding, it has rubber in 3 places. Both clamps and the back. Those stripes on the holders and stripes on the back are soft ("sticky") rubber.

  12. For me it worked to just reboot and retry a couple times to get to the final update.

  13. Actually, you will have an issue with that setup. You won't be able to type question mark, slash, or £. The layouts included with our phone don't take advantage of Fn(slant arrow) key. If you install finqwerty, it adds a bunch of layouts designed specifically for our phone that will work. Alternatively, if you select NO layout, then shift wont work, but you can get all the yellow symbols with Fn including slash and question mark, but no pound.

  14. I know this sounds stupid but I had a similar issue with mine. I found mine powered off but I don't think it had run out of battery. It would not turn back on and wouldn't take a charge. I warmed the phone up by keeping in an inside shirt pocket and after a while I tried the power button and it came back to life! Hope it helps 🙂

  15. Mine's arrived from Clove, only ordered 12 days ago. (It would've arrived three days if it hadn't been for the weird inability for the UPS delivery person to find the building.) Anyway, I'm happy with it so far. There's a lot of niggles I need to sort out, but so far so good. 👍

  16. It looks like our warehouse partner Expansys were already notified of the issues with both of your shipments. They are undergoing recovery actions since the 5th of Feb, and I've just chased them. In the worst case, we'll re-ship them using another service from the UK.

  17. Ordered... Though hefty shipping the same as the item!!!! DON'T BUY BY THIS LINK OUTSIDE UK, use e.g. .de or .fr that includes shipping as 'free', see below.

  18. It does not say if this is effective from Feb 1st 2020 or from Jan 1st 2021, as far as I can read. But if you follow their link here it clearly says at the very top (my emphasizing): For people not reading Swedish that is: Nohting changes regarding customs this year.

  19. They apparently didn't implement it (yet)?; they'd have to assign Fxtec key as 'meta' for those to work - if I understand right. There are some keyboard shortcuts you can assign in the stock launcher, that activate on long press of keys.

  20. That will be fixed in the next build. But yes you can also play with the keymap.

  21. Yes. With my first device. It was, sadly, unfixable. It just kept dropping even though it showed that it was there. Second phone just worked instantly.

  22. Hi, When I power up the device with keyboard opened, screen orientation is not in landscape. Steps: Lock in landscape is already set on keyboard open. Device is powered off Open keyboard Power up Enter Pin Let boot complete Layout will be in portrait Lifting up the device in landscape will change display orientation, but moving it in as portrait will change display in portrait. Close keyboard, device will continue to change display orientation as expected. Open keyboard again, orientation lock is in effect. Build: QX1000

  24. Using it daily and running stock with Magisk. I really like the phone, but my two biggest annoyances are the curved screen and the slightly offset keyboard. The F key is one key off from where my thumb naturally wants to fall. I end up typing gibberish if I try to go full steam ahead without confirming where I put my thumb. I've gotten better and I think this will go away with time. I wish the keyboard didn't have some many superfluous keys on it like control and the special symbol characters. Hoping I can get used to the new arrangement, but it is definitely a learning c

  29. Okay all, I finally found some time to look at this some more. As it turns out, the xbl partitions are not actually being written by the current package due to a bug in the programming instructions. Or, well, a mismatch between what the programming instructions say and what my program expects it to say. Anyway, I'll fix this and have a new package up shortly. This should be able to fix the currently bricked devices (I know there are at least two out there at the moment).

  31. -99 dBm for LTE isn't that bad of a signal. My Pixel 3 XL is getting a LTE signal of around -109 dBm. Anything -115 dBm and up on the other hand is a different story....

  32. Yes, the application does report incorrect bands at times, but that's not the issue at hand (with regard to antenna design or how "hot" the receiver is in the Pro1). Even if the app gets the band wrong, the phones won't, and they are clearly in service and seeing various cell sites (and voting to park on one). Every one in view shows a received power that is weaker on the Pro1. Regardless of the band the app is reporting, these numbers wouldn't change (my guess is the band is correct, if I had his rough address I could verify that, but B4 is indeed in use by Verizon in a large part of the c

  33. Sorry if I misunderstood that, but wasn't it potentially related to improper band feedback inside that application?

  34. Which I can tell about this - I live in the EU and as far as I know, Pro1 supports all frequencies where I live. I have two SIMs inserted which belong to two different service providers. I haven't done much testing, but Pro1 has very similar coverage for me like my Moto G6 had also at home or at work or near the motorway when currently I am not the driver of the car (I can use mobile internet during the way). I hope antennas are tuned appropriately on each frequencies, but I think which you notice is most likely related to not supported frequency/band(s) at your location and not

  35. So I finally took some pictures of the holder and wireless charging pad I'm using. There are thinner and smaller wireless pads available. But I already have this one, so I haven't bothered yet looking for a smaller/thinner one. If I had a bumper, I would definitely keep it on there. That's how I used it on my Sony XZs. I don't really need the physical port. The pictures show it works just fine. Both holder and pad are from Baseus. The holder has a sensor but also operates on touch. I'm stil contemplating on how to provide power via the air duct, so the cable isn't visible anymore. The wire

  36. I started peeling mine of before I realised it was the actual serial number sticker. IMO they could have at least made it black instead of silver. I didn't like it on the rear anyway, I kept the sticker so I'll get a small black version of it printed and I'll stick it on one of the hinge arms so it's only visible when opened. 😉

  37. I would, but I have the distinct honor of having serial number #999, which I quite like, and thus may want to show it off at some point. Unless all the labels say 999, in which case 😕

  38. My pleasure. The relationship is purely a logical software one. It reads the RSRP (received power) & RSRQ (received quality) and then converts it to a bar graph and numerical and/or percentage. Simple as that. The Pro1 is being more honest about things, not sure if there is intent to deceive with the BB or not, but it's not even close to being accurate with 4 bars. I don't think lying is the correct phrase to be used with the LTE Discovery app (as lying implies intent), but the app is often incorrect, and most people don't know because they don't really have any other wa

  39. We have had this spread in various threads, but perhaps it would be nice to get it gathered. If you ask me none really work super well. The build in has its benefits, but are quite simple. The big ones like Nova, does not really work well with Landscape nor keyboards. Usable, but not really good. But those being used to a specific third party launcher, that supports landscape, could continue to do so. I just use the stock, as the pros outweighs the caveats of its simplicity to me. ADD: I strongly suggest to change the Android setting under Settings, System, G
