  1. Or Verizon ignored them. 😉
  2. No. Most sites will tell you that because these IMEIs are not in their data bases. There's a whole process F(X)Tec would have to go through to make that happen. It doesn't mean the phone can't operate on their network, You can try putting in the SIM. It may just work , or you may need to talk to customer service. I believe people have been successful with T-Mobile itself. Check the first post in this thread and then read through the thread for details.
  3. I'm not sure. I'm thinking Hello Kitty has a Pro 1. 😄
  4. I'm a little puzzled by this comment and may be misunderstanding. You can get to settings via the gear icon on the start menu and once launched, you can pin it to your task bar. As I've said, the task bar is really my Windows UI. Everything I use fits there. There's some very old legacy stuff like Device Manager that won't pin, but you can find it by right clicking on start.
  5. No, the orientation thing is handled in the slider settings. The only things you lose in a new launcher are the assignment of apps to keys (which I decided didn't matter to me right now because it has the flaw of adding the key-presses from the held down key to any app that opens in input mode (like an app asking for a password or a document in an editor) and the particular way the launcher is set up to not stretch and distort widgets (which I don't find worth it without more features in a launcher).
  6. Overcome By Events... sorry, I should have just said "outdated" 😄
  7. Is this of any use? I would have thought the update would have already been provided OTA, but I don't know (and no longer have Windows 7). Since I had Nexus devices when I had Windows 7 I have no idea if it could read larger cards or not. 😄 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/976422/the-capacity-of-a-secure-digital-sd-card-that-is-larger-than-32-gb-is Or is that page OBE?
  8. I haven't used it since years ago when it was "Classic Shell" but you can try "Open Shell" and see if it does enough for you. https://open-shell.github.io/Open-Shell-Menu/ I only use Windows for very basic stuff anymore and have no patience for tweaking it any more. I have all the programs I use on the task bar (including the depreciated "Command Prompt" DOS box they don't want you to use anymore) and, really, the task bar is my UI.
  9. It has been disabled because of some problems it created. They are working on it. Don't know time scale, With the phone closed, yeah, power button or fingerprints. With FinQwerty (not to sound like a broken record) the Sym key will wake. I know the default keyboard started out with the Esc key being wake, but I'm not sure that didn't go away later. Been too long since I used the default layout so I'm fuzzy on some things.
  10. I do think there is a way to get rid of that notification, but I don't remember how.
  11. Uncheck all keyboard language boxes and you will be back to default where ? and / will work again. Finqwerty is really a better solution, IMHO https://github.com/anssih/finqwerty/releases
  12. Fairmail is pretty good, but the trick is, even though it is open source, you have to get it from the Play Store or it won't be able to set up Gmail. Apparently Gmail makes a playstore check so if you get Fairmail from F-Droid, it doesn't work with Gmail accounts. But it is quite good and free (which it sounds like you want).
  13. I don't know if Swiftkey does the auto-capitalize. I uninstalled Swiftkey. The conveniences it provided the physical keyboard did not outweigh how awful it is at swyping with the onscreen keyboard. Since I now only use onscreen keyboard (portrait) when I'm going for speed, having an onscreen keyboard that slows me down is a deal breaker. I'm sure part of it is I have been using Gboard for years, but it is also that Swiftkey is just not as good with swyping. I've been told it's better at international typing, tho. I don't miss the auto-capitlize because, with a physical keyboard,
  14. Don't know if Eske gave him the idea, But Anssi asked me what I thought of the idea back in December and I told him I thought it was a good solution (which I continue to think) so you might have to blame me too. 😄
  15. Nope. Not sure I would expect it to. But I've never ever used PTP with an Android device. Never found a reason to.
  16. I'm on the 20200106 firmware but can't swear right now whether I was at the time.
  17. Windows 10, 64-bit, MTP (it's called "File Transfer" on the phone's USB menu) and, yes, USB debugging is enabled.
  18. My numbers come out the same. I have this card. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0758NHWS8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Could this be because of being formatted FAT32? I have no rel knowledge in this area. I luckily don't often write large files to the card, just occasionally move some media over from my PC. What I have noticed is that if moving a large amount of media via USB connection to my computer, the connection will time out after a while. I discovered this when trying to move my whole music library to the card. It took 3 or 4 attempts to
  19. If you haven't already, I would recommend you head over to the Sailfish channel on the unofficial fxtec Discord chat. Lot of helpful folks there. https://discordapp.com/channels/604479731156385792/604551605538521118
  20. Just curious. Are they a-holes because they only want to support mainstream phones with a large enough customer base to be profitable or are they actually a-holes? 😉
  21. That happened to me once. I then managed to mess up and brick my phone (trying to unroot and take OTA... not sure how but I refer to it in Magisk thread). I recovered by reflashing the October original factory image, took all the updates including the January one I had been trying to unroot for. When I set Verizon up again everything was magically working and has ever since. And, no, I don't suggest you try my remedy. 😉 🙄 Make sure you set everything back up, including all the LTE provisioning and selecting the right preferred network(s). "Global" works great for me. There's a l
  22. The router does both, of course, but my Pro1 is connected to the 5.8Ghz access point
  23. If you don't mind cloud-based apps, I have always really liked Simplenote. It is free, ad free and has desktop versions for Windows, Linux and Mac. Does plain text and markdown. Lives up to it's name. It has nice tag based filtering. EDIT: Forgot which thread we were in. Yes, it handles landscape just fine. 🙂 Though probably, to be fair, no better than most.
  24. Oh, LOL, I should have Googled "Teardown Skins." Never heard of them-- I mistakenly thought we were just talking Dbrand skins. No, I don't want one of these, but maybe if they make one for the Pro1, they'll use the specs to make a regular skin. 🙄
