Nope the proximity sensor is something else, it's the guy turning off the screen when you put the phone to your ear. Thanks to @SaiKo I was able to get the wake up logic to work nicely with the proximity sensor. Still it would be nice if they made that missing Hall Effect sensor available at some point. I'll probably publish that app tomorrow.

Physical I know where it is and it's working fine, we sorted that out a few days back. That was about programmatically finding it as the key handler won't work once the screen is off.

Using Sensor Test I could find the hall effect sensor for the keyboard but not the one for the case. I'm guessing we will have to wait for an update on that one. In the meantime I tested WaveUp and that works really well so I'm guessing I should be able to use the proximity sensor to wake the device. @SaiKo Any noticeable impact on battery life when using WaveUp on your Pro1?

To lock the screen properly an app needs to implement Accessibility Service and the user needs to turn it on. The function is called performGlobalAction I believe. See my code or one of my earlier post on that thread.

Once the screen is locked I can't get the notification that the case is opening anymore.

Most interesting, I will need to take a closer look at that. Though my main issue is to find a way to get notified when the case is opened and the screen is already lock.

For those of you with custom smart case I started working on a dedicated Accessibility Service to make it work better. I have not published an APK yet but it should compile and the advertised functionalities should be working already. For now the main advantage over a generic solution using Key Mapper and a screen locker app are: Filtering of keys causing page reload and search overlay in Chrome when closing keyboard and case. It could be anything, from Android kernel being compiled with different optimisation to graphics drivers. I'm pretty sure Samsung engineers invested a lot more than FxTec and patterns ever will in optimizing Android for that SoC.

You can't possibly preorder a first smartphone from an unknown start up and expect to get a bug free experience. If you did then you obviously have little understanding of the technology and complexity behind such a product. My tips to you to avoid such frustration in the future: Do not preorder any product, ever. Buy last year products thus making sure most bugs have been resolved. Stick to main stream, high volume smartphone. Stick to well known brands.

Yeah, could be a faulty assembly, in which case you will have to wait for support to come back to you.

Maybe it does not like that window. Ideally go outside with a clear view of the sky and stay put until you get a fix.

Where do you live? How long did you wait for a fix? First fix can take up to 15 mn without AGPS.

Ever since I switched to Pro1 I've been missing gesture control. I found Gesture Control does a good job at it. Be aware It can take a while to get a configuration that works for you as it is fully customisable. It even lets you hide the navigation bar once you granted it the capability it needs over PC through adb. I started off with Full Screen Gestures but find it too limiting. Could not make the side bars full screen. No option to hide the navigation bar. MIUI 10 Navigation Gestures looks like a popular option too but I have not tried it myself. It could be easier to set

Indeed, economic downturn is worrying. I'm prety sure Fxtec is lean enough to survive it but if some of the suppliers and parterns are going bust it could geopardize that product.

I often keep the display on for longer than that and it never gets warm. Both SIMs are working fine too.

Can this be fixed at the application level? I'm using OpenAL for an application I'm working on and it suffers from those crakles while playing music. Same application same build running on Huawei P30 Pro, no issues.
