On-device audio and nfc now work. I'm out of time for the day, so I'll try to get this wrapped up tomorrow. Remaining "big" items blocking test3: - test/fix cell radio (should be working or require minor tweaks). - fix front camera (it's not recognized, probably a missing file). - fix notification light. - fix FM radio. - figure out why the fingerprint sensor loses its data at reboot (at least for me). - add keyboard layout file.9 points

So this is a bit of a "Huh" moment. @david recommended this clear bumper to me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L2SQLRC?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image I just got it today and put it on. He had told me that some mods need to be done to get the buttons to align and the ports to be easy access. I was trying to upload some pics to my PC and pried it off and stuck it on the front. You know what? YOU CAN TYPE THROUGH IT! YOU CAN TOUCH THE SCREEN! You know what? I can flip open the phone - with ease - and the entire screen is protected. Sure there is a cut out for w6 points

I worked with @EvilDragon today and we were able to revive the device. The xbl_a partition was corrupted. This should have been written with the factory tool, so I need to investigate why it did not get written properly.6 points

Okay it looks like Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and Fingerprint work. Still need to test/fix cell radio, on-device audio, and NFC. Note the WiFi signal strength indicator is still broken. That's going to be toward the end of the to-do list.6 points

Nope, I won't send him a bill, he got the refund as requested. π It's working, so I'm fine. I'll also offer unbrick-services in my shop, probably free for users who bought from me and everyone else can get it reflashed for a little fee. Usually, it's not needed. If tdm finds the problem with the flasher and fixes that, everyone can do it himself π But in case someone isn't technically able to do that for some reason, I can help. Thanks goes to tdm for his awesome help and work π5 points

Progress! After waaaaaaaay too long, I've finally fixed the wlan subsystem restart. Turns out the open source power HAL isn't working properly. The vendor power HAL works. So I'll use the vendor one for now and continue on with all the other stuff.5 points

Thank you @david This could be a potential bug and thank you for making improvement for us. I have observed certain mis-behaviour of WiFi in certain conditions myself (as you might seen in other threads) I will work with engineer to dig deeper into WiFi drivers etc., when virus lock down is lifted...4 points

Before the Chinese New Year when we ship the last big batch, we actually have also produced certain stages for the next batch. In fact that will cover almost all the pre-orders. However because of the virus no one knows when the traffic is re-open and people can get back to work. But I want to let everyone rest assured that the product is indeed there its just waiting for the people to get our of the currently lock down situation...4 points

You sure? With all the controversy going on here, someone is sure to claim that FXTEC has bred the virus to have an excuse for the delayed delivery times. ππ4 points

I switched from my Huawei P30 Pro after trying and configuring it for 5 days. Before making the jump I had to tackle the following issues: Find a premium book case that fits: using Snakehive Huawei P20 Pro case. Make sure it's fairly stable: not a single crash to boot since I got it. Find a way around minimum screen brightness being way too bright in the dark: using Lower Brightness Pro. Sync PIM from my Exchange server: used Gmail app. Sync SMS/MMS/Phone logs from my previous phone: used SMS Backup & Restore Pro. Make sure both my SIM cards are wor4 points

Iβll admit that the first day I did not use the pro1 because I was too scaredπ but Iβve had it with me for two days now and really love this phone. My biggest hinder is not having a proper screen protector or case, other than that this phone will now be with me all the time4 points

Lol delayed until who knows when~ This saga of delays has reached comical levels. I wish everyone in China good health and safety.3 points

Submitted this also as a Support Ticket, but I am a bit confused on some things with this phone, as-is when unboxed: 1) Shipped with a multi-country AC Adapter, cool! 2) Only an 18 inch USB cable? Do people really put their phone on the floor when charging it? 3) Wait... this USB cable is Type A (typical ubiquitous rectangle, the end that plugs into the AC Adapter) but the other end is Type B Micro -- and the phone is USB C! There's no other cable in the box, so as-is from the box, I can't even charge the phone. (Fortunately I have spare USB C cables) 4) OK, let's go throug3 points

I suspect it's the server that your device is picking up to do the test with, unless if you do the test from your home network somehow. Maybe check if the battery manager is on? On our work wifi, we have a relatively impressive ping result.3 points

But it's perfect when sitting next to my computer and jacked in. For everything else, I have 4 of these. Pretty Red Cable They are amazeballs.3 points

Haven't used an N900 since 2015 as a daily driver but I keep grabbing at the little switch on the right side (which isn't there but the N900 had) to unlock my pro1 when it's open. Damn muscle memory. π3 points

I think I'm now back where the original test2 build was: - Cell radio works same as before (still can't make voice calls). - Notification light works. I still need to review and cleanup the code though. - Front camera works (I was missing some camera libs). Additionally: - I've added the keyboard layout file to the vendor partition and that seems to work. I'll try to fix the FM radio and the fingerprint issue today. Both of those may be more involved. In any case, I'll have a test3 tomorrow at the latest.2 points

USB debugging is for adb, not for file transfers, and requires developer options enabled to even get that setting I believe. Sorry I mixed up the term. For MTP file transfers gotta tap the notification lotsa times like Hook described, does not require developer options or usb debugging.2 points

Was that test done over wifi or cellular? I am talking about over wifi, by running the ping command, in a terminal shell, pinging the address of the wireless access point 6 feet away. I checked that "battery saver" was off. I also went into battery optimization and turned it off for the terminal app, but that didn't make a difference. If you got 2ms ping over wifi, to a remote speedtest server, then i would question the results. You would have at least one hop to get to the wireless access point and then one or more hops to get to your internet provider's gateway to the inter2 points

I would remove such a sticker as soon as my device is up and running and put it on the box β if for some reason the info is not mirrored on the box anyway.2 points

I'm been using it now for almost a week and I love it. I love the quality feel of the aluminium after my plastic backed Priv however it is slippery as hell. I am using the supplied sleeve after applying several coats of Scotchgurad, which I do like. I would really like the same design but made from a good quality (black) leather. I might also have to stick something on it to give me a bit more grip. Figuring out the best way to open the keyboard was a challenge but the videos really helped. All my previous phones were eithers straight slider or clamshell. I haven't quite figured o2 points

...And I just found the case type I was looking for on AliExpress, for $4.07 (cheaper than eBay, as usual). https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000114115816.htm ...If only they made this version with a fold out card section like the earlier case, then removing it to add depth for the Pro1 would be a lot easier/neater.2 points

Telia Sweden 4G/2G: Tested on both LTE and GSM, works APN for Internet and MMS were correct by default. VoLTE (in the *#blabla#* settings) were enabled by default Wifi calling in the regular settings menu was turned off by default. Turning it on allowed me to place a phone call over Wifi while having the device in airplane mode. So VoLTE/VoWifi works.2 points

I'm repeating my self from many other threads, but do not do fast charging for a daily basis. It will shorten the lifespan of the battery. Sure the battery is replaceable but not easy user-replaceable. Fast charging is like junk food. Fast and convenient, and fine for occasional use, but very unhealthy for daily usage.2 points

Welcome to the club! I ordered back in April 2019 and finally received it this Monday! I'm sure production after lunar New year will start up again soon and they'll fulfill your order as they've gotten thru a bulk of the orders in the last month. I can't speak for them but my gut tells me you'll have to wait 1-2 months but if you reply to your order email, they'll give you a more solid estimate.2 points

On the E7 and on the N900 The placement on the E7 is probably more practical than on the N900. You can get it with either hand when the phone is closed and it's also in reach for your right thumb when open.2 points

The Nokia E7 had that on the long left side / the front towards you when opened. It was a neat little switch that was very easy to find and use but also hard to operate by mistake, much unlike a simple button. It also turned on the flashlight when you held it. Very satisfying. Hey fxtec, can we have a switch like that on the Pro2?2 points

That is a bug in the instructions. Let us here flag @Erik, @Elysia and @Waxberry and hope one of them can get at the least the online version fixed ASAP2 points

I received a USB C cable of adequate length with my phone on Monday. I don't remember anything about a ghost USB mini port in my docs. Verizon has no interest in supporting CDMA, much less a tiny start-up device company. There's a thread here on activating Pro1s on Verizon, it ended up working for me.2 points

Just tested, hardware Ctrl+C works with in SwiftKey here, both on letter-shifted QWERTY and QWERTZ. Maybe it is an issue they fixed? Check the version. π OR it is related to me using FinQWERTY? If it still does not work, remember that most often Ctrl+X followed by Ctrl+V does (without even releasing Ctrl),.2 points

Expect movement on Feb 17th. We can thank the Lunar New Year and Winnie the Flu for the extended delay.2 points

I haven't really investigated keyboard things yet. I've been busy getting the vendor image working in order to fix a2dp. But I know that idealte put the keyboard config files in system instead of vendor, which is why its broken. I'll put them in my lineage vendor once it's working. As for other locales, I haven't tried at all yet.2 points

I see. I have used one for sat-nav for hours, and that is somewhat evil. So does unfortunately sound like it is something with your unit, and not just a software-fix away. π₯1 point

No need to adjust things, if you press the edge of the screen right at the very bottom (it's not too hard to do or anything) it will click the settings icon so you can still easily get to it. The "button" for it is bigger than the icon basically.1 point

Now that was a really helpful hint. Never even considered that a surrogate-keyboard app would be hardware keyboard aware. Good job Swiftkey! Will try some similar to see if they can do the same, and perhaps (even) better.1 point

Posting in here instead of the sticky because I think this is more of a design issue. Icons for Wi-Fi and mobile network show arrows for data transfer activity next to them but when there's no arrow to be shown icons to the left shift position. This gets quite annoying, as typical implementation of status icons on other phones have the arrows underneath the Wi-Fi/4G/3G icon or do away with them completely. I took a look inside the SystemUI APK and noticed there were icons with the up/down arrows beneath them but it seems that they aren't being used.1 point

I've not seen a thorough discussion on the subject, even on internal lineage slack. With several hundred people making up lineage, there are undoubtedly people who want it and people that don't. The major reason it's been dropped is that the security changes in Q make it even more difficult to support. Since it's not really a core feature it will get done last. And if it turns out to be really difficult or intrusive, it may just get dropped. At least until someone with the motivation and ability comes along.1 point
