Just finished a quick sketch of the bottom part of the protective cover: Will run a test print tonight to get first dimensions with hard plastic to see how the shell fits, then adjust and further develop. The plan is that the fit should be about 0.5-1mm too tight. That way silicone will grab itself onto the enclosure :). The holes for the switches are temporary for allignment, on the end design these will be filled in with silicone aswell, that way the entire bottom is enclosed and the rockers will go slightly heavier from pressing the silicone layer between them.

@Keyahnig I was planning to draw a 3d printed design for the Pro1. Do you happen to have the files in Fusion360 format (.STEP or other), I would love to customize it and see if I can make a decent mold for it to pour them out of silicone. If that works out properly I might be able to do a "small production" run on those for who needs a bumper 😁.

Hehe, same for me also. 🙂 However, PinePhone's courier told usual shipping time as 10-14 days and I think F(x)tec uses a more expensive shipping company with pre-paid TAX, so Pro1 should arrive earlier I think. 🙂 However, if you expect both of them early February then it will be a real race. 🙂 Anyway, two different phones to play with takes much more free time. 😄

The first test molds will be transparant to make sure it all is a good fit. After that I will likely only produce them in black unless there is alot of interest in other colors (Every one of them will be produced at home and I do it purely as a hobby 😁.

While the afternoon is indeed ending in Hong Kong, it's still the morning in the EU (and the UK). Depending on who sends the notifications, we might still have to wait for 10 hours or so before their work day is over. Also, come on, it's F(x)tec we're talking about here. There should still be at least a small 24h delay, to stay on brand.

That I cannot answer yet, considering it all depends on how well the mold works out and the wear/tear on it. I dont own a vacuum chamber currently so when pouring I have to pour very slow to prevent a buildup on air bubbles. Once I got the first casts done I can give more information on how many I can produce on daily base next to my day job 😄

stock assigned mail is in. shipped in the coming days it says, if everything i ever bought from china is any indication, the phone will take somewhere between 2 days and 2 months to get here.

Screen arrived in perfecr condition and looks like a perfect fit. Will report once I got to replacing it.

Looks good! Though I think the flat part is a bit wider, that is the curved part is less. I would say about similar to your drawing but on the other side of the flash. And I think you should try to narrow it a bit towards the top, that is not a straight side. ADD: tried to take a picture against a grey screen, with the other Pro1, stock camera-software, slightly rotated and cropped.

FxTec is sending out Mails pretty fast now. But they are not finished. It will maybe even take some more days. But as long as your phone is in this batch it does not make a difference if you receive the mail now or in a few hours. I would advise to hold on 2 more days or so.

No problem with opening and closing. It's pretty ugly but it seems to do its job. Iused with TPU. I don't think a hard material will work but I haven't tried it.
